Nope - it was nothing to do with half term actually. I managed to faint in BHS. Didn't even get to Hotel Chocolat.

True - even the kids playing football in the street this afternoon made me slightly wish I'd gone into the office. Well, maybe for a few minutes....

I used to live in a flat where the end wall faced a car park which kids used to play in. I got in the bath one night and the thud...thud...thud...thud...thud of a football hitting the wall started up. By the time I'd got out and got dressed I was ready to rip someone's head off, but I managed to control my temper and just walked up to them, nicked their ball and went back to my flat. They knocked on the door a few times, shouted through the letterbox and called me a few rather rude names...and then it went quiet.

Half an hour later a copper knocked on my door and told me to give the kids their ball back.

Five minutes later the thud...thud...thud...thud...thud started up again.
