I had an anonymous feedback letter this morning slamming my spelling! I double checked and it's the UK correct version! I wish some people would think about the UK/US spelling alterations before commenting!

Does anyone else have this sort of problem?

Not with stories, but I have been slammed by Lancaster about my US spelling of the word humor with is the proper US way of spelling it.

Just chalk this one up to ignorance. I'd email the feedbacker back and tell them that there's a difference between US and UK spelling, which is why there are different versions on a standard spellchecker. Do it a little tongue in cheek, and you'll both teach someone something and get in a punch. :)

I thought about that, but it was submitted anonymously, with no email addy included

I'm an American, but you can see I prefer the UK spelling of some words (i.e., "Spectre" "Grey"), and usually call elevators lifts. After spending a week in London, I also came down with the habit of ending nearly every conversation with "cheers!", although it only took a few funny looks from poeple to get me over that.
