Sounds very good! I cycle heaps but do little for upper body which is a problem, fit thighs, glutes and lungs, abs ok, arms and chest v weedy!

I swim 4 times a week too. My stamina is appalling though, defo need to sort out the stomach too but don't want to do too much too quickly

You are right to work up to things slowly, and swimming is so good but the pools here are not great. It's why I ended up cycling to work to build it into my day, a 24 mile round commute three times a week on average has done wonders over the years!

Off out now, catch you all later

I've got a similar issue - I run 5-10km every other day, but have a shite diet so the rest of my body isn't what it once was.

If anyone wants a workout, try doing two hours in a pro go-kart that reaches 50-60mph. Through the corners, its a real workout on your back and arms. Whew!

Hope everyone is well. I'm off for a hot bath and a lay down. :p

I only started a couple of years ago - still surprising myself. Did my first Half Marathon earlier this year!

I'm aiming for the Great North Run next year! At the mo on the treadmill I run for 1 minute every 9 mins. I haven't run for 20+ years but was always more of a sprinter

Me too - well, long/ triple jumping!

I'm doing Great North this year and can't wait.

Road running very different to the treadmill experience - and the races a real buzz compared to training. I just started heading out and tried to run without stopping for ten minutes, then just kept stretching the time.

A warm hello to you fellow runners! I'm also a sprinter who has converted to distance running (although I still sprint a bit as well).

If you haven't done so already, why not call in at the Runners unite? thread for further support and guidance? :)

I doubt I could even do that yet!
