Humid, hot, and it's trying to rain here. Stuck resting indoors after a pretty bad night, but things are bearable. :)

Likewise great to meet you Tallulah.

I had one small job to do and now that is done. Now a lazy time on Lit. Quite new to the forums but more used to Lit chat.

Have a fine afternoon!

Hi Penuche :)

oh dear, sorry to hear that- I was hiding in bed until 10am from a late night out last night (not hungover, just tired haha). Am glad it is bearable :rose:

Ah good for you! I am taking a short break only, what better way than on Lit? :D

I used to haunt Lit chat in my earlier days but now I just annoy people here instead

*Crawls into the room and carries on to the sofa.*

If anyone has a gun, can someone shoot me? I'll pay handsomely.

I'm not sure how one see's replies or updates without refreshing everything. Any clues please?!

Erm - I basically hop from one page to another, I don't think there is another way other than to refresh :/ (but I am not the most technical minded so lets both wait for some-one more knowledgeable to come and teach us both :D)

Hi Wonks

Now now. You know I will actually do it so be careful whatcha asking for around me... (remember the axe incident?)

What I've done - I subscribed to this thread. Everytime I want to refresh, I just hit User CP at the top of the page and it brings up the thread. If someone new had posted, the thread title appears in bold.

Hope this helps.

That is easier than what I do lol! Shall do that from now on :D (such a dumb bint)

Well, you know I don't normally mind but I am eating triple choc ice-cream atm so am afraid you need to wait :p

Triple choc?!

*Crawls onto the sofa next to Tal and drools slightly...*

Bint. A fine word if a little derogatory at times. A word from the past for me.

BINT!

Haha. I haven't heard in years but someone recently called me a daft bint (in a friendly, caring way haha) and it really made me smile.

I don't find it derogatory but these things are so subjective that there's always someone who would be offended - eg, I don't like the word wench, it makes me cringe.

Yes wench is very sexist, subservient etc. Although used in an historical context maybe there is a time for it? Not sure.

Interesting debate.

The only "acceptable" use is the label of the fancy-dress costume for women at an absolute push. Even then I am barely managing to control my eye-rolls.

I would fully accept its use in historical terms - I am not one for trying to change history but I wouldn't have it now.

You did? Lol. I don't remember that BUT given our history I don't think there is anything offensive that you HAVEN'T said to me before

*wonders why I still talk to you...*

Because you feel sorry for me? :p

I don't mind talking to a girl who feels its an obligation to stay and talk to me... ;)
