Mine is pretty much the same but I am stuck inside writing this weekend - self-imposed deadlines to meet and all

I used to haunt Lit chat in my earlier days but now I just annoy people here instead

Erm - I basically hop from one page to another, I don't think there is another way other than to refresh :/ (but I am not the most technical minded so lets both wait for some-one more knowledgeable to come and teach us both )

What I've done - I subscribed to this thread. Everytime I want to refresh, I just hit User CP at the top of the page and it brings up the thread. If someone new had posted, the thread title appears in bold.

Haha. I haven't heard in years but someone recently called me a daft bint (in a friendly, caring way haha) and it really made me smile.

I don't find it derogatory but these things are so subjective that there's always someone who would be offended - eg, I don't like the word wench, it makes me cringe.

The only "acceptable" use is the label of the fancy-dress costume for women at an absolute push. Even then I am barely managing to control my eye-rolls.

I would fully accept its use in historical terms - I am not one for trying to change history but I wouldn't have it now.
