UK repays US for post WWII loan

By the end of this week the UK will have paid back the US government for the post-war reconstruction loan needed to repair war damage after WWII.

There is no way we, or Europe, can repay the US (or the former USSR) for their help in defeating Nazi Germany during the war.

Help that was paid for with the blood of US (and USSR) armed forces is impossible to repay.

All we can do is remember the dead and injured with thanks.

Thanks for the language and the civilization. We're having great fun with the former, and I dare say have done some good work with it also. Sorry about some of the things we've done with the latter.
