What?

A partner of an organization that has more anti-democratic governments as members than I have hair on my head want's to monitor our elections?

What a fucking joke.

I do hope the Governor's of the states they try to monitor send them packing.

The rest of the story.

kinda like socialism will destroy everything that is MERIKUH!!! Unless your candidate did socialized health care, the socialism is ok as long as it's at a state level

Conservative president spends billions and expands programs and propaganda to fight the "war on drugs"

It's not like the Republicans haven't all but stated they plan on voter suppression. I don't think we need outside help but we do have a problem.

Conservatives are engaging in voter suppression. Try Ohio, where our Secretary of State Jon Husted has been scheduling shorter poll hours than normal in democratic precincts. Then John Boehner's heavily-conservative district gets to stay open an extra hour or two.

And then he just got caught trying to suppress the vote by changing early voting laws at the last minute... By eliminating early voting on the last weekend. Ohio has something like four weeks of early voting but when research came out that showed early voting in the last weekend is very popular with African-Americans, Republican Husted tried to eliminate it. And that was like last week.

The freaking Supreme Court had to rule on the issue, forcing Husted to stop his racist bullshit.

Hahahaha...Jughead weighs in on early voting. Trying to eliminate the practice is now raccccisssst.

Making sure the voter is who they say they are....is racccccissssst and considered voter suppression.

You do know that the states have the right to determine who votes as long as they don't use race or sex as a limiting factor all's fair.

If they want they could limit the vote to all residents who are left handed with a high school diploma.

Or they could limit the vote to those who are employed.

Or to the second child of each family.

But then those limits would be raccccisssst according to Jughead.

So how is selecting to close polling places in black districts early, while increasing the time that republican white districts stay open, not racist?

Please show your work.

States come up with the goofy crap you mention all the time and they regularly get corrected in courts. So no they can't do those things legally in the end.

Husted tried to eliminate early voting on the last weekend before the election for the express purpose of crippling the black vote in Ohio. That's racist, corrupt, election-rigging.

Except for heavily conservative military members - he wanted to keep it open for them because they'll vote for Romney. The Supreme Court ruled that that's utter crap and illegal - so you're wrong that states can do whatever they want. Except you'll ignore that and insist you're right and the SCOTUS is "wrong".

From the original source:

“The OSCE has regularly been invited to observe elections in the United States, in line with OSCE commitments.”

(Omitted by Glenn Beck's shill site who instead choose to bring up the "two guys being dicks at one polling station this one time" case known as the New Black Panthers... and even getting the fact on that wrong.)

So yeah. Yawn.

No. States can't arbitrarily restrict the right to vote once they've granted it.

The appeals court cited the controversial US Supreme Court decision Bush v. Gore: “Having once granted the right to vote on equal terms, the state may not, by later arbitrary and disparate treatment, value one person’s vote over that of another.”
