Wednesday night - Bryson opens up about his cheating
Bryson looked at his wife standing before him in a sexy black dress. But her eyes were ablaze with anger. She had heard him threaten her sister and she had stood quietly by as Madison dressed him down. Why didn't she defend him? It seemed she was always taking sides with Madison or her family and not defending him. Was it true that she was having an affair with Jack or someone else? he was surprised when she said nothing to defend her own virtue. Something was terribly wrong with their marriage and he had to do whatever it takes to keep it intact. Jack had hinted at that fact when they talked at length on the phone.
"Let's go," he said meekly walking ahead of Brie to the car. There was stone silence on the ride to the Italian restaurant. Angelo's Restaurant was a quiet place where Bryson knew they could have some privacy while they talked. He hoped they could sort out their troubles and get on with their lives, lives that in the last few days, took an upward turn. Angelo greeted them warmly, welcoming them back and directed them to a quiet booth in the back of the restaurant. Bryson was glad to note that there were not too many patrons dining out tonight.
The silence was threatening as the waiter came and took their drink orders. Afterward, Bryson screwed up his courage and took Brie's hand in his. "Brie I know our marriage has not been the greatest lately but with this new venture, I think we can make a new start." The way her eyes rolled in her eye sockets, told a totally different story. "Listen to me first Brie and I promise I'll not talk about our great opportunity. I know you don't care about it. I want to talk about us."
Bryson shifted in his seat, amazed that she had actually kept quiet. But her eyes narrowed and he knew he had to tell her something that he had been hiding for a long time. But first he had to set the record straight about her sister. "You know perfectly well that your sister and your entire family don't like me. I don't know why but I've come to accept it. Madison gets under my skin and you know I would never do anything to hurt her." No facial response just an angry stare.
They were interrupted momentarily when their drinks arrived and they ordered dinner. As soon as the waiter left, Bryson turned his full attention to Brie, knowing that now was the time to address the important issue facing them. "Brie (an imploring look on his face and in his tone) you know we have had some great times together and we really do get along well. Well at least everywhere but in bed." There is was out in the open. The taboo subject they both avoided was out and now open for discussion.
"I know …… or at least I think I know that Madison was getting me riled about you cheating on me." He tightened his fingers when she tried to pull back and when her mouth opened, he quickly added, "let me finish what I have to say Brie. For once let me say something without being interrupted." He was surprised when she shut her mouth and relaxed in the soft cushion of the booth.
"I know I have not been the man in bed that you want me to be. I've tried but I can't seem to make you happy under the sheets. I don't know what it is but it is something I have thought about for awhile." Now was the time and he geared up for an onslaught of angry words. "Brie I lied to you the other day. I have cheated on you." He was shocked when she said nothing, only stared at him with anger flaming in her eyes.
"You know I was and still am in deep debt to Jack. Well, as I worked on his casino projects he let it be known that I could have any of the staff I wanted for my pleasure. At first I was hesitant but after awhile I took him up on his offer and then it became an obsession." He lowered his eyes and felt as if the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders.
Lifting them to look squarely at Brie, he finished. "I love you Brie and I don't blame you if you want to take a lover. I know your sister was grasping at straws, wanting to get me pissed so we would fight." Bryson had more to say and quickly continued. "I want us to stay together and build a life together and if that means sharing you with another man ……… I think I can understand. I love you Brie but I don't think I can give up my obsession with Jack's women. They are (fumbling for words) they …. they don't judge me Brie."
He sat back into the booth. What the fuck did he just do? What would she think of him? He waited for the tirade and the accusations that he was a fucking cheater and she wanted nothing to do with him. What would Jack think if he had to tell him his marriage was over? Would he renege on his offer to put him into business.
