Twisted Obsession (Closed)

Brie didn’t know when she happened to fall asleep. She was only aware that that the conversation between Madison and Bryson woke her. Sitting up and stretching, Brie spun around to look at her husband. She was admittedly surprised to see him tonight; she had expected that he would ditch her in favour of his ongoing projects and to see him home early was a miracle.

Then she caught up to Maddie’s words and her eyes widened, slowly trying to digest. Stay here? A few days? What was she...?

Oh.

Shit.

Maddie had casually dropped that tidbit during their talk on the phone a couple weeks ago - Brie had forgotten all about it. She had to try and soothe this over with Bryson, who had disappeared into the kitchen.

Standing, Brie stretched again. The dressing gown rose up over the curve of her bum and revealed a narrow strip of skin that showcased the markings from her rigorous sex with Jack. It was a long running joke between them that Bryson was too vanilla for anything other than boring missionary, and Brie watched the wheels turning in Maddie’s head. Yanking her covering back down, Brie turned her back to her sister and said “you know how clumsy I am. I wiped out on my run the other morning. Hurt like a bitch to clean that mess up. Anyway — give me a minute or two? Let me go make Bryson a snack.”

Madison’s eyes narrowed even more. It had also never been a secret that she didn’t like the way her sister waited on her older husband like a waitress and not a wife. Bryson was capable. Why couldn’t he make his own damn sandwich?

*****

Brie stopped just inside the entrance to the kitchen. She watched Bryson quietly for a few moments and lowered her eyes to the floor as she began to speak. “I’m sorry Bryson. I forgot that she was coming, I swear I did. I was in the tub and next thing I know Maddie was already on the couch entertaining herself. You know I didn’t even plan to be here tonight—why would I stay at my parents if I knew my sister was coming to stay? I’m still here tonight because you asked me to work this out and I’m trying. Why don’t we say goodnight to Maddie and go for a little drive to try and talk this out?”

Brie’s offer was shaky and everyone within the sound of her voice could tell. Still, she had never been a quitter and giving up on her marriage without trying to fix it would be something she just couldn’t abide. Even earlier with the suggestion to stay at her parents, Brie had only intended to get away for a few days. She had never meant that she was leaving her husband permanently, but now, looking at the angered frown he was levelling her with, Brie realized that there might not be any working this out.

Bryson didn’t understand what he had done wrong. His slights of his wife were numerous. It didn’t mean Brie was innocent either; she had cheated on her husband a handful of times and actually enjoyed it. She was no angel. They both had work to do in order to to fix this, but Brie suspected the mountain of issues between them might be impassable.

Slowly, putting one foot forward and then the other, Brie closed in in her husband and pressed her cheek against his back.

“I’m so sorry Bryson. I missed you — welcome home. Why don’t you let me make you something to eat and then we’ll talk?”

Tuesday night - Bryson's anger toward Brie flares up

Bryson pulled the leftover chicken from last night out of the refrigerator. He was putting a portion on a plate, readying it for the microwave when he heard Brie speak. He didn’t turn around right away, instead opting to ignore facing her. But when he finally did turn, he could give her an angered look, his eyes telling her of his disappointment.

He was not one for conflict and arguing and he wasn’t looking forward to one of Brie’s tirades which seem to happen more often. It was safe to say he was irate finding Maddie at their home and now Brie was trying to justify her presence. When she brought up her parents’ house, he felt the hairs on his neck go up. Wasn’t it just this morning that she was threatening to leave for a few days to clear her head? Bryson was having a hard time believing her story about Maddie.

Turning to complete readying the plate of food, he was just about ready to put the dish into the microwave when he felt her arms circle his waist and her breasts pressing against his back. God, she knew how to disarm his anger. He didn’t like conflict or arguing with Brie or anyone for that matter, opting to try and get along with any situation. But things were rocky at home and to him, it was Brie who had changed.

The simplest thing to do was to turn around and take her into his arms and kiss her. But he was not happy. “I already have my dinner prepared,” he said softly. Picking up the plate he moved toward the microwave feeling her body leave his. He had a sudden feeling of guilt.

Turning, he grabbed her as she tried to move away from him. “Brie I had so many things to get done and I pushed all that aside to come home. And what do I find? Your younger sister sitting in the family room with you sleeping on her shoulder. What am supposed to think? You were the one threatening to leave and I begged you this morning to stay and talk this out. But then you go and pull a stupid stunt like that and expect me to believe you forgot. I have projects to get done with Jack that he is pressing me to get done, my ex-wife informed he that she is taking the girls out of state for good, and now I find your sister is bunking with us for a few days.”

Bryson took a deep breath trying to control his anger which was very rare. Usually it was he who gave in so easily but with the pressures coming at him from all sides he was like a dam that was ready to burst. In a calmer voice he tired to smile. “Brie you are very organized and I’m disappointed and find it hard to believe you?” What got into him? He was normally the more docile partner but every so often he did have to let off a little steam.

“If you really want to talk then let me finish preparing my dinner and then we can go out on the patio or in our bedroom and talk. If not, you can go back to your sister and watch whatever silly show is on television.”

He felt his anger dissipate somewhat hoping he didn’t overstep his bounds. He always felt this way when he let off steam and then reverted back to his normal docile mood. He loved his wife and he would do anything to keep their marriage alive. He couldn’t see himself without her.

*********************************************
Jack sat in Mulligan’s Pub, sipping a bourbon and thinking about Brie. Just a few nights back, he was sitting on the same bar stool when she walked into his life. He didn’t know the relationship between Bryson and Brie at the time but when he found out it made the chase all the more exciting.

Glancing at his phone, he wondered what she was doing. Would she call or text? He would give her some time to consider her options. If she didn’t contact him like he asked, then there were other ways to let her know she was still firmly in his radar.

Brie was stunned by the rejection. It felt like a blow to the chest and she stepped back like she’d been burned, trying hard not to cry. Bryson had never been so cold to her before.

With a wobbling lip, Brie said “there was a roast in the slow cooker waiting for you,” and turned away to wander over to the sink. She grabbed a dish towel and dabbed at her eyes with the corner of it. She kept her back to him.

Bryson didn’t believe that Brie wouldn’t do something like this intentionally.

It hurt.

Brie’s posture was tense, beginning to wash the dishes methodically.

“I guess there is nothing more to say then. If you won’t believe me that I’ve been just as stressed as you have and God forbid, actually forgot something for once in my life then there’s no appeasing you. I cook, I clean, I take care of all the bills, I work a full-time job, come back to a husband who still demands more and more because he’s so busy gambling our money away and doesn’t even give a damn about me in bed, with one of the girls at Jack Muldoon’s casino going on the other day about Bryson Harper’s skills in the bedroom (this was just her fishing in the dark; she’d heard accusations and she wanted to see if Bryson would admit to it without Brie outright accusing him herself) and now you’re blowing up at me because I couldn’t juggle all that at once? How is that fair?

“I’m so fucking sorry that I’m exhausted. I’m so fucking sorry that you don’t even bother to tell me anything — Kayla taking the kids away is a huge stressor and I’m sorry that’s happening, Bryson, but I don’t understand why I didn’t know about this before. The girls are also grown ass adults now and if they want to see their father they will, regardless of the stepmother from hell,” Brie remarked coldly. “If it helps any it seems like she won’t be a problem to you any longer.”

She paused, muscles tight and preparing for a fight. Clenching her fists under the scalding soapy water, she watched her tears part the surface and ripple across the water. Sniffling, Brie couldn’t contain her tears.

The force of her sobs made her shoulders quake and brought short gasping breaths along with them. She squeezed her eyes shut but it was too late; the dam had already broken.

“I—I just... I just can’t,” she whinged. “I’ve tried so hard and I know you didn’t mean to hurt me but it’s like I’m your nanny and not your wife. There’s no communication. There’s no sex. There’s not even any love. Think hard Bryson - when was the last time you told me that you loved me when we weren’t fucking? That goes both ways, I know. We lost that. We lost that and I don’t know when,” she admitted, speech rife with pauses to stifle her sobs long enough to form comprehensible words.

“I want to fix this but is that even possible now? I want to find what we lost, Bryson.
Please help me. Please don’t push me away — we’ve both been under stress and your pain is not worse than mine. Mine is not worse than yours. We both are broken in different ways but we can’t fix this if we’re both angry at each other. All I’m asking for is a few days to really think about how we can move forward and to give you some space: I’m not leaving you but if that’s what you want, then... Just tell me and I’ll be out of your hair,” she gasped, face crumpling in pain.

“I love you Bryson. I do. Please.”

Not for the first time, Brie wondered if that was a lie, too.

Tuesday night - Bryson and Brie argue in the kitchen

Bryson knew before he finished that Brie was about to explode. She was not one to let things go without the last word as he learned over their years of marriage. When they argued, she would defend her position to the nth degree.

Standing stock still, he watched her grab a dish towel and dab at her eyes and knew there was more coming. And did it come, in torrents. She blamed him for everything and she was the martyr. When she made the comment about making one mistake in her life, he had to bite his tongue. The issue was now all about her and not the fact that she screwed up and didn’t remember her sister coming. Yeah, he told her he didn’t believe her but if the show was on the other foot, she would have accused him of the same thing.

When she mentioned not taking care of business in bed, he cringed. It was a sticky subject with him. He wanted to be more dynamic in bed but he didn’t know how and it was clear she was not about to admit to her own shortcomings (if truth be known, he was a bit intimidated by her). But when she mentioned the gal from the casino, he saw her eyes narrow as if waiting for him to say something. But Bryson could tell she was not finished, remaining silent until her tirade was done.

Then she exploded about his kids and his ex-wife. Hell, he just found out about it today. What the fuck was he supposed to do? It was not something she could do anything about and was he supposed to drop everything and call her? Bryson bit his lip hard, holding back his anger growing inside.

He stood helpless as she sobbed and then talked about how hard she tried in the marriage. Did she think she was the only who tried? He loved her and yes, they had fallen into a rut where they didn’t talk much. But, how could they? When she worked all kinds of crazy hours and days and he was trying to make a go of his career, when were they supposed to get some quality alone time? When they were together, they seemed to be in their own little world. Communication was a problem.

When she wound down, tears falling like rain, telling him she loved him, he felt his anger subside. He knew he would be the one to give in as he walked to her, taking her into his arms. Her body was still trembling and Bryson instantly felt he had to make amends

“I love you so much Brie and I don’t want to lose you. We need to talk and I don’t want you to go to your parent’s house. Your sister is here and you need to be here too.” Kissing her forehead, he hoped his words were soothing and helping the situation.

He thought about her casino comment and was glad he didn’t interrupt her tirade. “And about what you may have heard in the casino is all wrong.” He needed to cover his tracks about the women he fucked at Jack’s casinos. “I don’t know why someone would want to spread rumors about me. I only work on projects for Jack (and fuck his beautiful staff of sluts) and don’t mess around.” He looked into her deep brown eyes. “Why would I want to fuck some other woman when I have you all to myself.” Her body stiffened a little but he missed the sign that she was fucking on the side just like him.

“I don’t want to argue honey. Why don’t you serve up some of that delicious pot roast and we can talk out on the patio? And as for your sister, you know she is always welcome here.” Turning slightly he saw Maddie standing at the door. Did she hear everything that went on between him and Brie? Thinking of their high-pitched voices, he was sure she heard the whole conversation.

She didn’t want to fight. As Bryson curled his arms around her, Brie slumped against his chest and cried quietly. She didn’t know that there was any easy answer to the conundrum they were in.

She stood there like that for a while until she felt Bryson tense against her. Looking up, Brie noted Maddie leaning against the door jamb watching them with narrowed eyes. Brie wiped her own and cleared her throat, offering her sister a shaky smile.

“I’m going to have a bath and then we’ll have an early bedtime okay, Bryson?”

She hoped he understood it was her way to curb the embarrassment from being caught like a crybaby by her sister while still promising them the chance to have a decent conversation and try and resolve some issues.

********

Madison had heard raised voices from the kitchen before the unmistakable sound of her elder sister crying. That sound grated at her nerves because Brie cried very little, actually, and when she did Madison knew that her sister was very hurt. She had always been the tough one and Madison relied on her a lot.

Getting up to investigate, Maddie was dismayed at the pained look on Brie’s face and her reddened, wet face. She said nothing, but the glare she pinned Bryson with was icy enough to put out the hottest flames. Bryson flinched away but Brie was already putting an end to the argument, stepping away and brushing past Madison before trotting down the hall to the tub.

Madison crossed her arms across her chest and slowly a victorious smile crawled across her face. Neither her nor their parents had ever really liked Bryson and although Brie was struggling right now, it appeared as though the problem with her husband would be solved sooner rather than later. Her contempt for Bryson had never been a secret.

Still, she said nothing and waited for him to finally speak up and defend himself. Bryson didn’t like uncomfortable silences but Maddie didn’t mind them and some of the best information was gleaned from moments like this. She wondered what Bryson might spill put on the spot like this.

Tuesday night - Dinner with Maddie on the patio

Bryson watched Brie brush past a triumphant looking Madison. That was just like Brie when confronted with one of her family; run and hide. There was no reason for her to go take a bath and then call for an early bed unless she was running away from the issue. Though it may temporary, it pissed Bryson off. Here he was left in the kitchen with no dinner she said she would make and her sister standing in the doorway with a smug grin on her face. It was a well-known fact to Bryson that Brie’s family didn’t take to him warmly. One thing he hoped to bridge was being in business on his own and showing the family that he could indeed take care of Brie.

Turning to the task of making his own dinner, Bryson stewed with growing anger at Brie running off to the bathroom. The roast smelled wonderful but it would have to wait for another day. Placing the chicken dish in the microwave, he turned to face Madison who seemed rooted to the floor.

Madison wore a victorious smirk as if she had some great gossip to spread. “So, you’re messing around with someone or lots of women at the casino!” She was never afraid of confrontation and sometimes the worse it got the more she liked it.

Bryson bristled at the message she was sending him. There was no way he would ever confess his mischievous playtimes with Jack’s staff. “You don’t know what you’re talking about Maddie so give it a rest. This is between me and your sister. So how long do you plan to stay?” He could tell she didn’t believe him and would badger him mercilessly until she was satisfied.

“Oh …… I don’t know. Maybe three or four days. The painters said there was a lot of trim work that would take extra time. Is it ok with you that I stay?”

With a somewhat dejected and less than enthusiastic smile he told her she could stay as long as it took to get her apartment painted. The bell sounded and Bryson pulled the steaming food from the microwave. Taking his food to the patio, he was not surprised to find Maddie padding after him. She was not done trying to glean some information from him.

He tried to eat in silence but Maddie peppered him with questions about what was going on between him and Brie. He tried to be roundabout in his answers wishing she would leave him alone. At one point he thought she was leaving when she excused herself only to return with two glasses of bourbon. That was one thing he liked about Maddie; they liked the same drink.

The talk always reverted to his relationship with Brie and was he cheating on her. Maddie was in her final year studying law at the university and he knew she was trying to use any and all arguments to gather data from him. After another drink, he wasn’t sure what he had told her because she had a way to rephrase the question each time.

When it seemed she was satisfied, she excused herself, telling him she was going to bed. Bryson looked at his watch, realizing it was an hour and a half since Brie ran off from the kitchen. He cursed under his breath, “Fuck. Now she’ll be pissed that he didn’t come to bed right away and she won’t believe it was her sister who caused him to forget the time.”

Bryson realized this was another opportunity lost to talk to his wife. Grabbing a third drink, he knew it was useless to try and have a conversation with her, especially with her sister in the next room. He laughed as he sipped his bourbon, feeling a warmness in his body. “The little bitch probably would hold a glass to the wall and listen to every word they spoke.” Finishing his drink, he put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher like a good husband and trotted off to bed, thinking his wife was probably fast asleep by now.

Madison laid back in the bed in the spare room hugging one of the pillows and giggled in what might be considered a nefarious fashion. This evening had taught her much useful information since Bryson always was a talker when he was drunk. Of course she hated that her sister was going to get hurt, but there seemed no way around that. Madison was undeniably eager to finally be rid of Bryson Harper for good: it was just a question of how soon Brie would give up on him and leave the useless man. Brie deserved better.

Now Madison was armed with the ammunition to make that happen.

********

Brie lost track of how long she’d been soaking in the tub, only that Bryson didn’t show up after she waited for what seemed like forever.

With a heavy heart, Brie stood up and dried herself off. She moved slowly, mind distracted and body feeling heavy. Even after another 45 minutes, Bryson still wasn’t joining her in bed, so she rolled over and huffed a sigh, grabbing for her phone on the bedside table.

It was clear he didn’t actually care enough to talk this out. If that was really the case, Brie’s marriage was over with no hopes of fixing it.

It wasn’t a surprise that her husband didn’t respect her or love her enough to fight for her. She had seen this coming. In fact, the only man that paid her any attention in a positive manner lately was Jack: Brie was aware that taking advantage of his goodwill in order to make her feel as though someone wanted her was a cruel thing to do, but she just couldn’t help herself.

Jack was attractive. Jack was interesting. Jack was attentive. He was certainly dangerous, but that was exciting compared to boring ol’ Bryson. Brie had fantasized about what would happen if Jack worked for some outrageous group like the mafia or some other organized crime group — he seemed to fit the bill of what she imagined a mobster might look like. His behaviour at times suggested he had a violent streak. Brie was insanely curious about it; he didn’t have anything against hitting her hard enough to bruise or to making her bleed (thinking of those scratches on her back) and Brie wondered just how rough he could be in the sack (she actually liked it - the was no denying the heady rush when his open palm had cracked hard upon her face for being a bad girl the other day, unexpected as it was - her panties flooded at the image). She wondered if he managed to get out some of that bubbling violence with his day job; there was no way that giving her a couple spankings or slapping her across the face was enough to calm that fire burning deep inside him. She wanted to quell that rage, even if it meant that Jack took off his kiddie gloves and really gave it to her good.

Thinking about Jack made her remember his demand last night, said in such a firm tone: call me. Brie understood that calling him when she was so angry at Bryson would be a mistake. Jack didn’t need to know that she was leaving Bryson and she knew that he had ways of getting the information out of her. When he talked to her in such a deep voice, words smooth and clear with just a hint of deep husk, Brie’s inners throbbed. She wanted to do anything he asked of her when he pinned her with “that look” and ordered her around. His dominance was so fucking sexy...

She had no idea what to even say, but she knew that she had to make some kind of effort.

After debating for a long time, Brie finally messaged. Her text was a bit vague but she hoped it was good enough for Jack to excuse the fact that she hadn’t followed his orders earlier this evening.

It’s been a hell of a day. I’m sorry it took me so long to get back to you, Jack. Wish you were here with me now; it would be so much easier. Please give me a few days to screw my head on straight and then we can set a date to sit down and chat, okay? My next few days will be quite busy. I’ll text when I’m ready.

Brie :rose:

As Brie sunk further into the mattress, curling up in the fetal position with her phone in her hands, she thought of how many times Bryson had broken her heart lately. It was a painful stab deep in her chest, but for a moment Brie felt vengeful. She knew just the man who could hurt Bryson just as much as her husband had broken her. She could ask...

No.

Deep down, Brie did have love for Bryson. Even as much as she wished she could beat him silly right now, Brie would never follow through. She wasn’t that girl. She would shut her mouth and move forward quietly, never saying another word about the whole situation. Tomorrow while Bryson was at work, Brie would take her bags and go. She hoped that Jack would respect her sincere request for space for a few days unlike Bryson, who instead acted like he was a spoiled child who couldn’t live without her. It was nice to know he worried about what how me might manage, but Brie was not about too coddle him. It was too late.

Her marriage was over.

Tuesday Night - Jack hears from Brie and Bryson tries to reconcile with Brie.

It was late on Tuesday night and he still had not heard from Brie. Was she playing a game with him? If so, she would soon learn that you don’t play games with Jack Muldoon. Finishing his bourbon, he retired to his bedroom to get ready for bed. Sitting in bed, looking over some information for tomorrow, he was surprised to hear his phone ding. Looking at the display, his smiled widened into a wide grin. Brie Harper was texting him.

As he read her message, he was reminded that she was supposed to call him, not text him. Should he forgive her? He thought of what he should do as he re-read and digested her message. Why would it be easier if he were there? Was Bryson giving her problems? Did he find out about him and Brie? So many unanswered questions and she now wanted a few days to get her head screwed on right. What did that mean? What really happened tonight at the Harper household? Jack would find out everything from Bryson tomorrow. But now he had to contend with sending a reply to Brie.

“My dear Brie, thank you for the text. While I enjoyed reading it I thought of how you were supposed to call. When I give a simple request, I expect it to be followed. I will give you a few days but I expect you to call and not text me unless I specifically tell you do so. And even though you didn’t follow my request, I am not mad at you and miss you. I count the minutes until you are in my arms, and we can continue on our exciting road of pleasure. And I want you to think about what would be an appropriate punishment for disobeying my request. I am lying in bed, like last night, thinking of how I want to ravish your beautiful body …. my body to do bring me pleasure and you as well. Don't disappoint me next time.”

Jack

He knew she would not respond tonight so he turned off the bedside light. As he began to get drowsier, he thought of Bryson and made a mental note to call him tomorrow. He needed to know where he was on the casino project but more importantly what was going on with him and Brie. He read between the lines of Brie’s message and it was clear, everything was not good in between Brie and Bryson.
***************************************************************
Bryson walked quietly into the bedroom, knowing Brie’s sister was just on the other side of the wall. He silently cussed Madison out for being so inquisitive and he was sure she gleaned some juicy information from their talk. He wished Madison would have just left him alone on the patio but what was done could not be taken back. It was late and he was remiss in not getting to the bedroom sooner but he found it hard to get away from Madison. Would Brie believe him?

The room was dark with the exception of her phone. She was reading something and evidently when she heard him come in, she put the phone on the bedside table. Stripping off his clothes, he carefully climbed into bed. As he lay next to his wife, the phone went dark and then he contemplated what to do. Should he fall asleep or should he wake her and tell her what happened? They were at odds these days and he was confused. She acted like she liked him one minute and then the next minute she was like a she-devil. He wasn’t sure how she would react to being disturbed now, but he had to try and explain what happened with Madison.

Shifting on the bed, he reached over her, pressing himself into her back. The unmistakable stiffening of her body told him all he needed to know. She was pissed at him again. “Brie I’m so sorry. I had every intention to come to bed right away but your sister came out onto the patio and started asking me a lot of questions. You know how nosy she can be. I tried to get away from her inquisition but it was hard.”

No response, nothing. Why was she treating him this way? Just because he told her he didn’t believe her about her sister coming to visit. “I can tell you don’t want to talk about it tonight. You and I have to work tomorrow and how about we go out tomorrow night, just the two of us, and talk this out.”

He felt a slight shift in her body posture and then added, “Brie I love you and want to patch this up with you. I love you Brie Harper.” There was nothing more he could say. If she wanted to talk, the ball was in her corner.

Brie read Jack’s message several times over. She was surprised that he was taking such a strong stance on the fact that she had not called as he ordered but TextEdit instead. Come up with a suitable punishment? What did that even mean? Brie didn’t want him to punish her for something so silly (unbeknownst to her, this was only the beginning of her training).

She couldn’t decide on what she wanted to say so she said nothing at all, placing her phone down on the bedside table just as Bryson let himself into the bedroom. He had some weak excuse as to what took him so long but Brie was steaming mad again already, not listening. How dare he call her sister nosy?! That was uncalled for, even if it were true.

But it was late. Brie had work in the morning and needed to make an attempt to rest, whether that might be successful or not. She rolled over to face him.

“I did want to talk, actually, but I have to be to work for seven so it’s getting a little late for that now. Can’t we do this tomorrow?”

Her tone was despondent, no amount of hope bleeding through. They both already knew that there was probably no chance of coming back from here.

Wednesday morning - Jack gets ready to meet Madison

“Yes dear,” he responded very softly. The conversation would have to wait until tomorrow. Bryson scolded himself for having one too many drinks, talking to Madison a scheming little bitch), and not being more attentive to Brie. He watched helplessly when his wife turned away and he could do nothing to salvage the situation. Maybe tomorrow would bring more joy into their lives (he didn’t know this was the start of a whole new martial and business relationship).
*******************************************
Bryson heard Brie get up the next morning but he didn’t bother to get out of bed too. Instead he lay prone as if he was sleeping and was surprised when Brie leaned over and gave him a good-bye kiss. Was she over her anger? Would they have their talk this evening? He was going to do whatever it took to make sure nothing interfered with him and Brie having a talk.

Getting ready for work, he tried to think what was no the schedule for today. He had to call Jack and let him know about the casino project. Maybe he could work on it today since he had no other responsibilities at his old job? Bryson began thinking about his new business venture and how he would be so happy when this week was over and he could concentrate on building his architectural business and a better life for him and Brie.

Later, he called Jack and after some hem-hawing, Jack got him to tell his what happened between him and Brie last night. He hated to confide in Jack but right now Jack was his only true friend (or so he thought). Yeah, he was deeply in debt to Jack but didn’t Jack give him an out, a chance to better himself and to pay off his debt. He also thought about the casino. If Brie didn’t want him, at least he had the comfort knowing he could knock off a piece whenever the urge hit.

Bryson also told Jack how Brie was at work today and how Madison, Brie’s sister, was staying at the condo for a few days. He also relayed his disdain for the young woman who was in her last year of law and thought she was God’s gift to law. He told Jack a little about what happened with her too and Jack lent an understanding ear.

The conversation shifted to the casino project and Jack expressed his displeasure but told Bryson he had an extra day to get the new schematics completed. Bryson thought about Brie and their proposed conversation tonight. Somehow, he had to get the work done at his old job. There was no way he would miss talking to Brie tonight. He would do anything to save his marriage (he didn’t know at the time how true that would be). When he got off the call to Jack, Bryson sent Brie a brief text message.

“Brie honey, looking forward to our talk tonight. Love Bryson.”

***************************************
Jack smiled. Bryson told him enough to know that Brie was moving away from the marriage but not totally, yet. He would push Brie to give up on Bryson. He had an investment in both of them. But what intrigued him was Brie’s sister. Bryson was vague in his description of her but he let him know as far as he was concerned, she was the devil dressed as a young woman. Jack had to see this for himself and left the office. With Brie and Bryson at work, this would be the perfect opportunity to check out Brie’s family. Did she have other siblings? What about mom and dad? This should be an interesting day. And to make matters more interesting, he texted Brie as he walked from the car to their front door. She would not have the opportunity to warn her sister.

“Hey baby. Thinking of you today and I know I broke the rule about contacting you but wanted to let you know I am about to meet your sister. Remember my request about punishment and I expect to hear from you. Jack.”

Knocking on the door, Jack chuckled. Brie had no way to stop this meeting with her sister. And, what did lovely dish look like? Jack didn't pry Bryson for more details but he was interested to know if she looked a lot like Brie. And you never know what might happen. He wondered if she was really the bitch Bryson made her out to be.

Brie almost left the condo without kissing her husband goodbye but she decided that she had better almost immediately before her hand touched the door handle. Quietly, Brie sat down her travel mug full of coffee and tiptoed down the hall in hopes that she would not wake her sister. Leaning down on his side of the bed, Brie’s lips met Bryson’s cheek softly. She had a gut feeling that there may not be much opportunity for further moments like this in the future.

Standing over the microwave in the break room with some shredded pieces of the roast and grilled asparagus warming, Brie scrolled through the notifications on her phone.

Bryson had texted her.

Madison had sent her some video of dogs trying different foods with funny captions.

Even Jack had messaged her.

The popularity she was now carrying around was almost a headache, these days.

When it came time to read Jack’s message, Brie almost spat out her mouthful of water. Wiping her chin hurriedly, she stared hard at the screen to see if she had read that correctly.

The second pass revealed the same message; she had indeed read it properly.

Jack was on his way to meet her sister. Just what were his intentions? How on earth had he found out about Madison? Brie had never spoken about her family with him. Bryson had clearly spilled the beans. Just how much had he told Jack? Brie almost wanted to sneer - Bryson was completely unaware that he was giving ammunition to the man trying to steal Bryson’s wife. It was actually fairly humorous if Brie’s stomach wasn’t rolling in discomfort. Was Jack aware that they were talking divorce?

What are you thinking, Jack? What are you trying to accomplish by doing this? This really is not the time, Jack Muldoon.

There was nothing she could do to stop him.

******

Madison was a beautiful girl.

She was young and slim but fit and toned. Her eyes were a deeply muted green that almost hinted at brown and her coppery hair was coiffed in a sophisticated manner. She had gotten that from their father while Brie tended to be on the opposite end of the spectrum, her looks coming directly from their mother.

Madison was not half as mature as her sister, though.

As she relaxed on the couch with cheetos in hand, flicking the control on the remote with the other hand, Maddie paused as the doorbell rang, mouth gaped open in surprise. She was laying on her back with the bag resting on her chest and one long limb resting up over the back of the sofa. Both her sister and her useless brother-in-law were at work and it was unexpected for her to receive company.

Slowly closing her mouth and chewing the little bit left in there, she wiped at her lip to clear any residual crumbs.

Running her tongue over her teeth, Maddie got up and pulled down her thin white tank top a little farther to cover her flat stomach, which in turn revealed the cups of her black cotton bra. She wore just her panties otherwise. She shrugged, crossing the floor to answer the bell.

Raising an eyebrow at the impeccably dressed man on the other side, Madison’s lips spread wide in a smile and she stretched languorously in the doorframe like a cat. This man was fairly attractive, not quite her type, but by the looks of him he had money. Just who associated with men like this? He seemed far above Bryson, and Madison had no idea where Brie would have come into contact with him.

Bryson had cheated on Brie - had her sister dropped her panties outside the marriage, too? That seemed unlikely; Brie was so stuffy and proper that there was no way. Right? In any event, none of that mattered right now. This man was in front of Madison, not Brie or Bryson.

Madison liked money.

Madison liked men.

“Well hello there. And who might you be?”

Wednesday morning - Jack meets Madison

Jack drove to the condo, thoughts of Brie running around in his head. Was there trouble in her marriage? From the tone of her message, it appears to be the case. He didn’t want Bryson and Brie to split up, at least not yet. Maybe in the future, but he wanted them to continue on their marital path. Even if it got a bit rocky.

Was he the reason for Brie’s apparent displeasure? He was not sure he was the main cause but he could be the last domino that made the final domino fall. They had only met last week and he could tell she was slowly coming to her senses about her sexual awakening. The other night on the phone and then last night in her matrimonial bed. Just thinking about it now made some blood rush into his groin area, exciting a certain muscle.

And what about her sister? From what Bryson told him, she was bit of handful. Was that coming from his dealings with her and her family? Most in-laws took a different approach to an intruder into their lives, especially one who takes a daughter or sister away from the comforts of home. Bryson didn’t give Jack much to go on about her looks but Jack was betting she would be just as beautiful and sexy as her sister. This should be an interesting meeting.

Jack was not prepared for the sight he beheld when she opened the door, her eyebrows raised questioningly. She definitely was the younger sister but her looks were a bit different, though he could see the resemblance between her and Brie.

Her eyes were the first thing that struck him, emerald orbs that shimmered in the morning light. There was mystery hidden behind those eyes and Jack wondered if she kept her secrets locked up like her sister. He was slowly cracking the mystery with Brie, bringing out her kinky desires. Would he need to do the same with her sister?

He noted her coppery hair well-done, well arranged and very stylish. This young woman had all the makings of being a fine catch for some lucky man. But her manner of dress really intrigued Jack. It was only a moment’s perusal, but the white tank top did little to hide her breasts and her underwear. Was she always so brash; opening the door to a stranger dressed like she was ready to jump in the sack? But he spoke he chuckled, seeing the evidence of an orange substance on her lips.

In those moments of surveying, he also noted her eyes darting quickly up and down his impeccable outfit. From the twinkle in her eyes, she liked what she saw and that brought out Jack’s disarming smile and charm.

“Good morning miss. I hope I’m not disturbing you.” She murmured he wasn’t. “I talked to your brother-in-law Bryson this morning (he saw her instant dislike appear on her face). He mentioned you were staying with him and Brie for a few days and since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I would stop by and introduce myself.”

A small smile curled at the corners of her mouth and Jack knew he was on the right track. “I’m Jack Muldoon and I’m helping Bryson set up his own architectural firm. He is really a very talented architect (no change in her derisive attitude). Anyway, I met your sister the other day and showed her around one of the casinos I own.”

The mention of him owning casinos changed her facial disdain to a smiling one. He now knew to keep the subject of Bryson Harper to a minimum and focus on Brie. “The three of us hit it off pretty good and I gave them a night out on the town at the Blue Lagoon.” He saw her eyes light up at the mention of the exclusive club. Was she one who liked rich men?

“So we had dinner a few nights back here at the condo and when I heard you were staying for a few days I thought I would take some time to meet Brie’s sister. Madison …. Right? ” (she nodded and her white top rode up just a bit to expose more of the black undies).” I thought maybe we could have a cup of coffee and get to know each other.” He couldn't help but notice the way her eyes drifted southward and then back at his chiseled jawline and then his eyes. Was she interested enough to invite him in for coffee?

There it was, laid out very nicely for her to accept or reject his offer for coffee. Jack had a feeling they were going to have coffee. Would that be the only thing they shared this morning?”

Madison’s lips slowly curved into a wicked smile, tongue darting out to lick her lips absently. This handsome gentleman was speaking her language.

She extended her hand and shook his quickly, agreeing. “That sounds like a wonderful idea - and yes, you’re right; I’m Madison. Pleasure to meet you, Jack. I’m sure Brie has a hefty collection of fancy coffees in the cupboard if you’d like to come in and have a look. She can be such a snob, I swear,” Maddie rolled her eyes fondly.

Madison stepped back and opened the door wider to allow Jack room to step into the condo. She worked on digging around for some imported Italian coffee beans that she could use to make Jack the best damn pot of coffee she could while he stepped out of his shoes and made himself comfortable. Madison was more of the type of girl who spent hundreds of dollars at Starbucks every month - she wasn’t all that confident in her coffee making abilities but she would try her best.

Glancing at him over her shoulder as she worked, Madison made sure to elongate her back and stretch up a little on her heels so that her butt was a little perkier and much more visible in case Jack was looking.

She wasn’t a slut, per se, but Madison enjoyed finding herself men to spend money on her. She was expert at wrapping rich men around her fingers. This was all some kind of game to her. Poor Brie was much more laid back and carried her morals (pfft) close to her chest, preferring to not take advantage of people the way Madison did. In the end, Madison always made sure that her gentlemen were well taken care of too (if you know what she meant).

Madison was also a talker.

She babbled away as the coffee percolated.

“I must admit I’m surprised to see any company this morning. I was certain that when the mood they both went to bed in last night carried over they must have wanted nothing to do with being social... I heard Brie slamming cupboards this morning as though she were a cloud full of lightning and didn’t dare let her know I needed to pee in case she took it out on me.

“Bryson... well... I suppose that’s not my business whether you believe he’s a decent employee or not. As long as it keeps my sister from overworking herself: Brie is too stubborn to admit that Bryson drives her crazy and she works a ton of overtime not only to pay bills but also to keep Bryson out of her hair,” she laughed maliciously, “because I certainly couldn’t be paid enough to come home to hi— Oh! The coffee is done. Milk? Sugar?” She asked, working diligently to prepare it for his liking and set it in front of him.

Perching on the edge of the chair opposite Jack across the table, Madison fluttered her eyes and watched him take a sip.

“So you’re fairly familiar with my sister and her husband, then. Brie is lovely company, don’t you agree? I’m only visiting for a few days but I already know I plan to spend as much time as possible with her.”

Wedesday Morning - Jack and Madison chat over coffee

Jack saw those soft lips curling into a mischievous smile. He might have to be careful with this one or maybe not. ‘This should turn out to be an interesting morning,’ he thought as he walked past the coppery headed beauty. Looking around the condo as he followed Madison back to the kitchen, brought back very pleasant memories of the other night.

Walking behind the young woman gave him a perfect view of her ass swaying provocatively, each step seemed to tell him she would welcome his touch. But would she? Or was she that way all the time, teasing men to see if she could get a rise out of them? If she was, she was teasing the wrong man because once he got started, he wouldn’t quit until he satisfied his and her hot desires.

The teasing didn’t stop at the kitchen door, he noticed little things; like the way she stretched extra high to get some cups from the cabinet. Each time she looked back at him, he noticed that glint in her eye. Was she testing him? Jack didn’t shy away from watching her performance. Most men would turn their head but Jack’s eyes focused on those delicious ass cheeks, enjoying the show.

And once the coffee started to brew, he found himself on the receiving end of a woman who liked to talk. He listened attentively, hoping to find out more about Brie and Bryson’s marital troubles. It was interesting to learn of Brie’s early morning tirade and how she worked long hours to stay away from home. This was a marriage that was falling apart before he entered the scene.

It was abundantly clear Madison had no use for Bryson. Her whole mannerism changed when she talked about him and he was a bit disappointed when she suddenly stopped and said the coffee was done. He was hoping to find out more about her dislike of Bryson but it seemed that subject was done for now.

“Mmmm great coffee Madison.” His soft smile, followed by licking his lips was sure to send a message to her. One message conveyed the coffee was delicious and other was he was up to playing her games of tease.

She was on a fishing expedition and he suspected she was very good at wiggling information out of her unsuspecting prey. The way she phrased “fairly familiar” told him she wanted to know more about his relationship with Brie. “Yes, I consider Brie to be a friend and find that she has many fine qualities. I have a feeling those qualities run in the family.” The tone was clear the innuendo left her wondering how close he and Brie really were.

Jack saw Madison’s smile and then sit up a little straighter, pushing her breasts toward him. Was she thinking that he and Brie had sex? He would definitely keep her wondering. “Brie and I hit it off when Bryson and some investor friends of mine met at the casino. While Bryson talked the group about his expertise in architecture, I got to know Brie pretty well. She is quite a woman don’t you think?” It was laid out for Madison to conjure any thoughts she wanted about her sister and him. And then he threw out a little teaser in a matter of fact way, “I own a string of casinos and other business interests that makes me a very rich man.”

Sipping his coffee, it was time to turn up the heat a bit. “I’m glad to hear you are going to be spending a lot of time with Brie. Tell me a little about yourself Madison. Bryson told me you’re in law school. What are some of your good qualities that a man might find attractive?” Her eyes darted downward and he gave her his soft smile that surely told her he was interested in her. How would she react to a rich man coming onto her on a sunny morning in her sister’s house?

Well, well.

The leer on Jack’s face as he spoke about Brie being a close friend certainly sparked interesting ideas - maybe Jack had dipped into that pool, after all. Certainly that didn’t sound right: Brie was so stuffy and precocious that there was nothing wet about her at all, but maybe Jack had a weird kink Madison had no idea about. Brie was best at dealing with weird. Were Jack’s inclinations weird? They would have to be if he was fucking her sister — Brie was lovely in a classically beautiful manner but she had a dry personality that didn’t jive with just anybody.

Had they fucked? Madison wasn’t too sure but she was insatiably curious now and inquiring minds needed to know. She wasn’t shy. She had no problem asking questions to find out exactly what she needed to know, whether those questions were direct or not.

“Brie is wonderful. She’s a great sport but not many people get her - she can be stubborn and lacking in humour but she’s crazy intelligent and the most observant woman I know. How she puts up with a bum like Bryson I still don’t know. Any man would be lucky to jump her bones. Have you jumped her bones Jack Muldoon? Tell me — boring Bryson probably only knows how to fuck in missionary. Does Brie offer up any variety? I promise you that my best quality is my creativity,” Madison practically purred. “I’m persistent and I know how to get what I want. Just as she is, I’m observant and can call bullshit a mile away. Now tell me...”

She reached her palm out and stroked fingers over his large paw wrapped around the coffee cup.

“Why don’t you tell me a bit more about your association with my lovely sister. What do you think her best qualities are?”

After debating on the Bryson issue long and hard over the years, Madison had often wondered if there was any resolution to be had. Eventually she had to give up and admit to herself that he was a permanent fixture. Now, looking at the sparkle in Jack’s eye as they spoke briefly of Brie, Madison could tell that her plan to seduce him might go awry. Jack was into Brie. That much was clear by the imperceptible shifts in his expression and the inflection in his voice when her name rolled over his tongue.

Jack would not be Madison’s, but the Bryson problem may not be Madison’s either, by the look of this.

She had just found her sister a much better candidate.

The selfishness melted away. Madison would jump at the chance to bang a man like Jack but not if it ended up hurting the one woman who had been her best friend and confidante growing up. Brie may have a completely opposite personality, but she was always there for Madison when she needed her. It was Madison’s turn to be there for Brie and help her see that the grass could be greener on the other side.

She was a law student, not a matchmaker, but the only thing that excited her more than rich men was secretive, kinky adulterous sex practices, whether they were hers or not.

This would be fun.

Wednesday morning - Jack teases Madison

The fishing expedition Madison was on, got a lot more serious. Madison was going after the big fish and she was not shy about trying to find out if he laid his sister. The direct question took him back for a moment as he contemplated her question. Madison had her sister pegged on a few fronts. She was intelligent, observant, and stubborn. But she had a quality that he would not share with Madison because Brie had yet to let it out into the open. Brie had a hidden obsession with kinky sex that only Jack could give her.

Jack looked deep into Madison’s curious emerald eyes, seeing the same sexual qualities that her sister possessed. But in Madison’s case, she did not beat around the bush. Her questions were like a tough cross examination of a witness on the stand. The question, if he fucked her sister, was meant to throw him off his game, make him stutter and hem-haw for an answer. Doing so would surely silent admit that he had shagged Brie. But Jack was a poker player and a very good one.

Not missing a beat except for a micro-second blink, he smiled. “No Madison. I have not fucked your sister and if I had I’m sure she would have told you by now. I have a feeling you two are like two peas in a pod and share a lot. If not, then how do you know Bryson only likes the missionary position?”

An idea popped into his head. He would not fuck this young temptress but when he left this house, she would wish he would have shoved his thick cock into her cunt. Standing, he smiled as her eyes watched his every move. He pulled his chair around the table and sat, pulling her chair into position so they face to face, only a foot and a half away.

“Close your eyes Madison and I’ll tell you what you want to know. You are an intelligent woman and you can draw your own conclusions after I give you the evidence.” He would not reveal his desire for Brie but he would make her come to her own decision and then she would have to ask her sister for any confirmation. A soft chuckle flowed from his lips when she closed her eyes.

“As I said Madison, your sister and I met a few days ago and we hit it off really well. She is a very lovely woman and from what I know of her, she has some very fine qualities (he was going to exploit Brie's hidden desires).” His fingers touched her cheeks and she opened her eyes. “Close them or I leave and you won’t get what you seek.”

When her eyes closed once more, Jack continued, his fingers tracing the outline of her youthful cheeks, chin, and neck. “She is smart and articulate and loves Bryson.” Madison’s eyes flew open. “Close them and do not speak,” Jack admonished her sternly.

Once he again he waited and then his fingers continued their journey. “Do you think your sister would allow me to touch her this way? She is a woman of integrity and high morals (he was about to break down her barriers one by one).” Only silence met his ears as his fingertips traced the outlined of her breasts feeling her nipples harden. He loved the way they poked out her tank top even though they were still confined inside her lacy black bra.

He felt her abdomen muscles tighten as his fingers slid further south. “Do you think your stubborn stuffy sister would allow a man other than her husband to touch her in this way? She is married!” Sliding his fingers over her thighs and then onto the lacy black undies, he smiled when he felt the wetness caused by her leaking pussy.

He knew now Madison was a gamer, up for anything exciting. “And can you imagine your sister sitting in the chair like you are, letting me, a stranger, run my fingers over her pussy, knowing that soon my very thick and long hard cock would be shoved so far up into her pussy, pleasing her like her hubby couldn’t?”

This last comment forced Madison’s eyes to open and Jack didn’t demand her to shut them. Did she catch his meaning? If so she didn't utter a word. Instead he saw her eyes staring at him and he stared directly into her eyes knowing she wanted a taste of him. Running his fingers over her covered sex, he accumulated some of her nectar.

Bringing his fingers to his lips, he smiled at her. “And do you think she would taste like you, so very delicious?” She was about to speak but Jack put his fingers to her mouth and then stood up in front of her, a small tent forming before her eyes. “I have to leave now. But I want you to draw your own conclusions. You’re a law student. Tell me Madison, based on the evidence, did I bang your sister or are you just wishing I did to get back at Bryson?”

There was no jury. Only the two of them and he could see her staring at the large lump in his pants. To him, it was apparent she had never seen a man with a prominent bulge like the one in front of him. Did she believe him that he had not had sex with her sister? Or was he guilty?

That dirty little slut! Madison’s eyes and mouth gaped open in shock. Brie really had spread her legs for Jack after all. Her prudish sister wasn’t so much of a raisin after all. That was interesting.

Jack never confirmed her suspicions. He played with her and taunted her until Madison was almost crazy with frustration and need. Listening to Jack describe things he had possibly done to her sister and the deep, heady tone in which he spoke, Madison understood just why Brie would finally step out on her husband. Brie was so lucky to have such a charming, sexy male in her back pocket.

Madison only wished she had that kind of magnetism or pull over someone. Jack was stern and demanding but Maddie realized that Brie would love a man who could be in control for once and take the strain from her. Brie needed a man. Bryson was anything but.

Finding her voice and steeling herself, Brie snapped her knees shit and sat up a little straighter.

Her wicked smile curved wide, white teeth glinting. Those eyes were drawn to the overlarge bulge in his slacks. Jeez — Brie really was lucky.

“You fucked her, Jack Muldoon. Why, I bet you banged her in this very condo. How many times? How many times did you give it to her? That stick is so far up her ass she’d probably need quite a bit of attention to get it out by now. Bryson’s limp dick is pitiful, really, and Brie needs herself a man like you. I might not like Bryson, but I’m not doing this because of him; my concern is my sister. Whether her happiness means pretending to love him or sneaking around and raising her skirt for you, well, that’s her business.”

Wednesday morning - putting doubt into Madison's mind

Jack stood in front of Madison, watching her reaction. She had figured he fucked her sister but he could also see the doubt in her eyes. He had given her little tidbits of information that she used to come to her conclusion, but did she?

Grabbing her hands, he pulled her to her feet and held them so she couldn’t escape his grasp. Staring into her sparkling emerald eyes, he smiled. She really thought she had him in a corner and he was now going to break down and confess to the dirty deeds he and her sister had together. This was not a movie but real life and things don't always go along with the movie script. Jack was experienced in such matters and she was just finishing law school. He moved his face closer to hers and when she flinched, he tightened his grip on her hands.

“As a lawyer you’re supposed to find out if your client is lying or telling you the truth. How can you confront someone with only vague information. I never said I fucked your sister. You came to that conclusion all on your own. Are you going to confront your sister with unfounded information? And what if I’m telling you the truth that I never touched your sister? Would she be angry with you? Remember I only told you what I would do given the opportunity.”

Jack was toying with Madison, drawing on her inexperience. After all she was only a law student and not out in the real world dealing with reality. He dealt with lawyers and judges on a regular basis and was good at never letting them know the whole truth.

Releasing one hand, he grabbed her hair, pulling on her coppery strands until her head was tilted back, unable to avoid his demanding stare. He bent his head, his lips brushing hers and his voice barely above a whisper. “You are a smart woman like your sister Madison. When you get out of law school, I might have a place for you in my business.” His lips moved, pressing hard against her, feeling her resist for a moment and then accept his demanding kiss.

She was like putty and Jack pulled her hand to his growing excitement, holding it so she could feel its length and girth. When he broke the kiss, he pulled her hair harder, letting her know who was in charge. He knew she wanted a taste and that was all she was going to get. Maybe someday she would get the full package but today was all about letting her wonder if he really had fucked Brie. If he didn’t, she would be thinking about the missed opportunity of having him deep inside her.

“That’s it Madison. Take your time and feel what might have been yours this morning.” Her fingers squeezed at the growing tube and when he was satisfied, she would continue to explore, he kissed her again. This time her lips were more willing, accepting his tongue when pressed against her closed lips.

Jack was sure he could convince her to have sex with him but he had other plans. Pulling back, they were both breathing a bit harder. He smiled and grabbed her cheeks. “I have to go now but don’t make any accusations until you are sure you have all the facts. Did I or didn’t I let your sister feel the power in my trousers? And what about you? Will you regret this moment if I am telling you the truth?”

Releasing her, he turned to walk out of the kitchen, not bothering to look back. He wore a bright smile as he moved toward the front door. Would she stop him or wait until she confronted her sister to find out if he was hiding their affair? He would love to be a fly on the wall if and when she faced her sister with only conjecture and not hard evidence.

Madison began to second guess herself when he voiced opposition for her strong accusation. Brie would have melted under the heat of the confrontation, breaking down and admitting the truth. This was not Brie. However, Madison knew her sister better than Jack could ever even hope to.

She planned to capitalize on that.

Squaring her shoulders, Madison pulled her hand off Jack’s thickening cock and stood up as straight as she could. She was still a bit shorter than him and therefore not as threatening as she planned to be, but he wouldn’t leave here thinking he’d gotten the better of her. She cleared her throat.

“Brie will spill the details, don’t you worry. All it takes it one precisely worded question and the truth comes out. She tells me everything. What makes you think I don’t already know? Brie’s marriage has been on the rocks for a while now and she’s needed some excitement. She’s quite a bit looser lately and I know I have you to thank,” she challenged.

“That snake in your pants is anything but mine; it belongs to Brie. I will take that job though,” Madison winked, reaching for the door to let him out. “Brie will give you my number but please make sure you message her and give her a little something to look forward to before bed.”

Wednesday Morning - Saying good-bye to Madison for now

Jack chuckled when he turned back to face Madison. She was a fiery minx and a lot more carefree than Brie. But she was right about one thing, his cock did belong to Brie. She had suppressed her sexual emotions and he wanted to be the one to bring them out. Bryson Harper was a great architect but sexually he was a midget compared to Jack.

“Oh, I don’t think she’s told you anything yet Madison. I would know that for sure. But that twinkle in your eye tells me you are going to enjoy cross-examining her. Maybe I should sit in the judge’s chair or the jury box when you ply her with damning questions and innuendoes.” Jack was enjoying the banter. He had a feeling he and Madison had a lot in common.

Madison was right about something else. Jack knew from Bryson’s call this morning and Brie’s message that their marriage was waning. It was on the decline and it was probably not all due to Bryson’s poor sexual record. A marriage is built on trust and from his viewpoint, their trust had eroded. But Jack didn’t want them getting a divorce. He wanted them to stay together at least for a little longer.

“I look forward to having you work for me Madison. I think you’ll find it quite and interesting and rewarding in a lot of fun ways.” He was leaving her with the whatever thoughts she might conjure up but he knew she was not a prude.

“And you can be sure I’ll message her.” The content of his message was left unsaid. He didn’t want to spill all the beans. Opening the car door, he gave her a devilish smile. “And if you ever change your mind about wanting to play with my snake, you won't be disappointed and I know you’ll find if most accommodating to all your naughty thoughts.”

Not waiting for her response, Jack closed the car door and headed out of the drive. Down the street and out of view of Madison, he pulled over to the side of the street and composed a simple text message.

“Had a very interesting conversation with your sister this morning. Did not spill the beans about us but she’ll have a lot of questions. And don’t forget that you are to call me and set up a date. Maybe Madison would like to watch me discipline you if you don’t call and make me come looking for you.” Satisfied that he posed a lot of questions that would spur her curiosity, he hit send.

Now he had work to do. Bryson had to be convinced to work hard at saving his marriage. Then he let out a laugh into the empty car. What he wouldn’t give to hear the conversation between Brie and Madison.

Brie was exhausted after her busy shift in the emergency room but mostly she was so worked up about what Jack and Madison could possibly have been speaking about this morning. It could have been anything. Knowing Jack the way she did, Brie was certain that he had said something to rile her hot-tempered sister. Jack Muldoon was unpredictable and dangerous at times, but Madison was like water in a grease fire; her antagonist spirit only seemed to make things worse at the best of times, let alone in moments like this.

Brie was already gearing herself up for a confrontation by the time she hit the elevator to her condominium.

She had not messaged Jack after he had sent her the message, wondering how much information she could ply from her sister to use against the business tycoon (and probably criminal). Brie would have to play her cards just right. All of that on top of the fact that she still needed to work things out with her husband leant to the idea that this evening would be hectic. Brie had no idea how she was supposed to go about it, but both Bryson’s and Madison’s behaviour would dictate Brie’s response.

Sliding her key into the lock and slipping out of her shoes, Brie dropped both her lunch box and her purse by the door. The condo was quiet and she spared a few seconds to wonder where her sister was.

“Madison? Bryson? I’m home,” she called into the silence. She waited to see if there would be an answer, padding across the floor to deposit her bag in the refrigerator.

Wednesday afternoon - the confrontation between Brie, Madison, and Bryson

Bryson had a good conversation with Jack later in the day. They talked about his projects and new office before the conversation turned to Brie and her sister, Madison. Jack mentioned he stopped by the condo earlier in the day to meet Madison and Bryson bristled. He knew Madison didn't like him and he didn't know why. He had never done anything that he knew that would raise her ire at him. But it was the same with Brie's parents. They never warmed up to Brie dating and then marrying an older man.

Bryson listened silently while Jack told of his meeting with Madison. Why did the bitch have to stay with them? The more he listened, the more Bryson's disdain came out in the conversation. But Jack seemed to ignore Bryson's anger and he didn't tell Bryson about Madison's accusations that he, Jack Muldoon, was having an affair with Brie. He also didn't tell him about fondling Madison, who seemed to enjoy Jack's attention. Instead he glossed over the conversation, instead focusing on issues between Bryson and Brie.

The two men talked for a good half-hour and Jack gave Bryson some good advice about getting back into Brie's good graces. Bryson was feeling good when he left the office and stopped at the local florist to pick up some flowers for Brie. When he got home Madison was lounging on the sofa, eating a snack and ignoring him. He didn't say a word to her but went about arraigning the floral display in a vase on the dining room table.

He kept a wide berth from Madison, going out on the patio to await his wife. He planned on taking her out for an evening at the suggestion of Jack. Jack seemed so good at how to handle Brie's anger. He saw her pull into the drive and waited for her to come into the condo. He hoped his jackass sister-in-law would allow them some time together so he could broach the subject to going out to eat.

He waited until she put her food in the refrigerator and then when she called out for him and Madison, he called out that he was in the dining room. Just as she entered the room, he saw her eyes survey the bouquet and then Madison entered the room full of gusto.

"Well sis am I glad you finally made it home. I had an interesting meeting this morning with your lover, Jack Muldoon."

Bryson's jaw dropped and he turned to face Brie. All the happiness he had built up during the day was put on hold. "What the fuck was Madison talking about. Brie and Jack? No way that could be true."

But Madison could see she had the upper hand and she was not one to let something like this go. If she could put the needle into Bryson and make him mad, the better she enjoyed it. Besides, Brie would be better off with Jack. "Come on sis you might as well confess because I know everything." She was playing a game of chance, banking that Brie would break down and confess. Jack had played it really cool this morning but could her sister.

Bryson finally found his voice. He gave Madison a scathing look and then at Brie. "What is she talking about Brie? Is it true? All eyes were on Brie.

Turning to face Bryson revealed the beautiful bouquet he'd collected for her on the way home. It brought a smile to her face and she started across the floor to the table before Madison blustered in like a hurricane and dropped a bomb on the married couple. For a moment, Brie spluttered like a fish out of water, mouth gaping and eyes blinking slowly, mind processing.

An automatic dismissal might be too abrupt and arouse more suspicion, but Brie wasn't really able to lie, either. She was hoping that she could come up with an excuse with enough of the truth in it that Bryson might be able to believe her. She knew Madison was a lost cause and she had no idea what her sister had spoken about with Jack today, so she worried that Madison really did know everything. Then again, Jack Muldoon didn't seem to be a man interested in sharing his personal secrets with just anybody.

Brie rolled her eyes.

"Really? The man came over to see Bryson about work and you create this delusion about an affair? Listen, I know you don't like my husband but unfortunately for you, he's here to stay," she turned softer deep brown orbs onto her husband until she fixed her sister with a glance more chilling. When Brie met Madison's eyes, she knew that her sister really did know. How much, Brie had no idea. What had Jack said to her?!

"Madison, I love you but this acting out has to stop. I've only ever met Mr. Muldoon a few times and those were all meetings with him in regards to him hiring Bryson on lucrative contracts. There is nothing there but gratitude and I think you're reading a bit too much into the things you want to see -- I'm sorry, but I haven't wanted any man but Bryson in years and at a time when we're both working hard to save the marriage you want to destroy, this is not appreciated!" Brie's scolding tone was loud and growing stronger with fury at her sister.

This was no time and place to confront each other with this information but she gave Brie no choice. The elder sister probably would break down and admit her sins to her sister in the future but right now Brie's life was spinning out of control. She felt powerless. She actually wanted to cry.

Madison would understand that the rage Brie was exhibiting was an expression of Brie's guilt and the confirmation that she needed that Brie was reaching the end of her marriage. When Brie raised her voice her family were aware that it was her way of admitting that she'd done something wrong and was caught red-handed. Bryson had likely never seen this rare occurrence because it wasn't often that Brie behaved badly at all.

Madison was amazed. There in the vulnerable shake in her sister's voice, she read the truth: Brie had been sleeping with Jack after all. She still didn't have any admissable proof but this cicumstantial evidence was good enough for her.

Seeing the fear hidden so well behind the defensive anger was all Madison needed to feel regret about the spot she'd put her sister in. Bryson was quiet, listening and taking it all in. Neither woman knew if he would believe that it was just Madison being malicious or whether she was speaking the truth for once, but the first option was fairly plausible since Maddie's hatred of Bryson was more than clear. It was definitely a trick she might pull in order to sweep the rug out from underneath her brother-in-law.

Maddie was even good with being the scapegoat now that her suspicions had been concerned. There would be time for her to clear the air with Brie and find out the entire truth of the matter later on, but now was time to put an end to Brie's anxiety and give her an out.

Madison laughed, winking outrageously and clapping Bryson on the back strongly.

"Maaaaan! Really? Brie's too proper to lower her skirts for anyone other than Bryson the Boring. Jack is all mine and you can bet I won't share him with anyone. She's not wild enough for a man like that so you can straighten your bowtie and calm your shit down. You make it way too easy for me to get under your skin and I'd make a full-time job out of it if you'd let me. You should know that by now. My conversation when he came looking for you was perfectly innocent and the only thing he had to say about Brie was that she was a mean cook and a saint for putting up with you (lies). Mostly we talked about me, actually."

Brie's countenance relaxed, eyes expressing waves of gratitude towards her sister for the smooth transition. Madison was able to stir the pot but then settle the waters with no difficulty and it was a skill that Brie had always wanted. Madison would make a good lawyer.

It didn't mean that Brie wasn't still pissed and that she wouldn't be in hot water with Maddie later.

Brie fidgeted while she waited in order to see what Bryson was thinking about the situation.

Slowly, she moved into his personal space and laid her hands on his forearms.

"You know Madison's a shithead at the best of times. I'm sorry that we still haven't learned how to control her filter after all these years. Why don't we go out for a bit and take some space for ourselves and have a chat? We could use a date night."

Wednesday evening - Bryson begins to quesiton Brie's love

Bryson was totally confused. One minute Madison, the bitch, was telling them that Brie was sleeping with Jack and then the next she was saying it was all a joke. Was it? He glanced at Brie and then back at Madison. He couldn't tell if what he heard was the truth or not. Was it possible his wife was sleeping with Jack? if so when could they have done it? As far as he could tell, he was always around since the time he introduced Brie to Jack. Did they meet prior to that? He doubted it from the way they exchanged pleasantries when they first met.

While he was trying to figure all this out, he thought of Jack. Jack didn't mention anything about him coming to the house today to see him. In fact, he said he went to the house after they talked and he told him about his fucking bitch of a sister-in-law. Was Jack lying? God he was so confused and now both Brie and Madison were making light of it.

'Now Brie was trying to deflect the hurt that Madison, gushed on him. He knew he wasn't the best man in bed and was his wife turning away from him, fucking Jack Muldoon? "Yes we should go out to dinner (then staring directly at Madison) BY OURSELVES," he said in a rather loud voice. He made it perfectly clear, his own disdain for the coppery haired cunt. "We have a lot to discuss without someone eaves dropping on our conversation. Why don't you go get ready Brie?"

He had a lot of questions for Brie and he needed to have some courage. Walking to the liquor cabinet, he poured a bourbon straight up, ignoring Madison who stood silently by the dining room table. He saw her looking at the bouquet of flowers and downed his drink in one gulp.

As he waited for Brie to get ready, he turned to Madison, the bourbon working on his courage. Bryson gathered his courage which seemed to evaporate whenever one of Brie's family members were around but the alcohol helped. "Why are you always making trouble for us? I have a great opportunity and you are trying to ruin it with your lies. I plan to talk to Jack tomorrow and find out what the hell really went on here and if you're lying, so help me God, you'll regret it." Brie returned just as he finished his say and smiled demurely at each of them. Did she overhear what he told Madison?

Brie paused in front of the full-length mirror in the bedroom once she had removed her scrubs.

There was lots to love about her body; heavy, perky breasts despite her advancing age. A trim stomach she had gained through years of dance and hard work. Strong calves which had never failed her and had always taken her wherever she needed to go. Broad shoulders to carry the weight of the world. Powerfully built muscles in her back lined with trails of red from her last play session with Jack.

Jack. He was beginning to be a bit of a problem. Maybe he was even the root of her issues.

No - that was all Brie. Admitting that her lack of desire or motivation to work on fixing her marriage was a long-standing issue was hard. Jack was only a catalyst. It might even be that the timing was coincidental enough that Brie felt she could place the blame on him.

She couldn't.

There was a reason she had visited Mulligan’s and that was not anything to do with Jack. It was her way of acknowledging that the life she’d built with Bryson was falling apart at the seams quicker than she could sew it back up (if she even wanted to). This little spat with Madison tonight was just the cherry on top; each interaction between her sister and her husband was growing more and more antagonistic and Brie feared that eventually it might get too vicious to deal with.

Madison was only looking out for her but she did it in such an acidic way that it left a bad taste in both hers and Bryson’s mouths.

It was time to accept that she had to put an end to this. It was time. Tonight, Brie needed to have the conversation with her husband that their marriage was over and Brie wanted to leave him. Her whole life was about to change.

Slipping into a little black dress, Brie squared her shoulders and took a deep breath.

******

Madison laughed.

“Do you think I give a shit about you? I don’t. I really don’t care what you think at all, let alone about me. Soon enough Brie is going to leave you and I’ll be the happiest girl there ever was. You don’t deserve her and I’ve never hesitated to speak up about that. Threaten me all you want and I’ll show you who you’re dealing with. I don’t think you have the balls. You want to fuck with me? I’ll tell you a secret; Brie doesn’t want to fuck with you. She doesn't want anything to do with you. Maybe she did sleep with Jack Muldoon. Maybe she didn’t. Personally, I’m of the opinion that she really should but someday she’ll see that you’re not even a man and she’ll leave you. Who will be laughing then?”

At least, that was the reaction she would have had if Brie hadn’t returned when she did.

Instead, Madison frowned at Bryson, turning away and brushing past him coldly. She kissed her sister on the cheek and said quietly, “so help me God, I’m going to fucking strangle him if you don’t.”

She left the couple standing in awkward silence, for Brie had indeed heard her husband threaten her sister. It was a step too far even for him and Brie couldn’t abide it. It only cemented her decision.

Now to tell him.
