When your greatest strength is also your greatest weakness………
I’m an occasional NBC Survivor watcher – not a fan – just an occasional observant watcher. And with exception of the very first series of show - here is what I’ve noticed – as maybe you have too.
The weak, the unmotivated, the bland and the boring – win. Leadership and strength are strategically and unceremoniously voted away. The strong leaders, whatever their strengths may be – loose the game.
Of course, ‘there are rules’ for this game – this TV game known as Survivor.
But in real life, in America and in the rest of the world – today - the ‘rules’ are less defined. In world finance, world politics and war – there are no rules – not really. Oh sure, some like to ‘think’ that there are – but nope - they really don’t exist.
However; here in America – due to our history, our forefathers and our consequent govern by democracy – we do have a set of rules…….. our American philosophy – our democratic philosophy. And like the rules on TV’s Survivor – they often neuter our strengths. Our philosophy of Democracy, our strength, is actually, also – our greatest weakness.
It hinders or disallows us to make strategic, covert, military moves. It greatly frowns on our ability to assassinate an enemy. In fact it is preferred by our society that we, ‘capture and bring our enemy to trial.’ Our democratic philosophy means that we must
‘talk’ about something and then ‘vote’ on it for group/majority approval. Of course all this ‘tuff’ takes time. And military actions and reactions – can’t take time – our objectives will be lost.
In our American society today where lawyers continue to bog the system down with endless searches for loopholes – where the press ‘knows’ they’ve got to be in everybody’s business – where most of society feels ‘political correctness’ is the order of the day – all by the way, great icons of our strength – our US Democracy………. WE – yes we - you and I – we neuter ourselves. We render ourselves weak, open for attack – and from many venues too.
And under attack we are.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too. It’s obvious to me that ‘the rest of the world’ – the majority of the rest of the world ‘is not ready for our philosophy, our democracy.’ We can’t shove it down their throats. We can’t wait around and take time to ‘reason with them.’ Fore if we do – we will weaken ourselves – and eventually loose the game. The most serious of games – our American way of life.
We don’t want to capture our enemies and have them OJ Simpson out on us at trial. We don’t want to loose what made the United States– what makes United States – ‘us’ strong.
In times like these – when democratic diplomacy only bogs down and weakens us – we need to be strong – like our forefathers – take the fucking bull by the horns and shove’em right up our enemies ass. Go for a righteous kill and exterminate our enemies. Not jail them – not fucking try them.
After we prevail order upon the land – after – ‘they’ the rest of the world can ‘catch up’ to our democratic philosophy. But if we don’t stop this madness now – if we don’t take charge – the survivor – the survivors will only be the weak, the unmotivated, the bland and the boring – and that’s just not what America is all about.
I find it interesting too that – if on TV’s survivor – ‘there were no rules’ as there are not in real life conflict – the leaders, the strong – would crush the weak – swiftly and efficiently.
I today’s society – I would find that powerfully refreshing.
