Turning Into Our Parents

Besides the obvious things you say to your kids, i.e. "You'll put someone's eye out!" List the ways you've noticed you've exhibited behavior that mirrors your parents?

My Mom... when she dances around the kitchen or LR, she has a way of kicking one leg back. Just now I noticed myself doing the same thing. AAAAAAAAack! I also frown just like her when I'm concentrating on something/anything. Even little things like peeling potatoes, she gets this little face.. lol, and I've seen myself make the exact same face. Lord.

My son has the signs already. When my ex came home from work the first thing he'd do was shuck his shoes and start rubbing his toes and his feet with one leg crossed over the other, ankle to knee. My son does the EXACT same thing.

My mom is and always has been an antique freak. She would drag us around for hours and hours, going to all these odd little towns..swore they had the cutest antique shop there. Growing up everything in our house was old. I hated it, could not understand why she liked the shit...old, worn..yucky. I swore that when I got big I would have all modern stuff in my house!

As my mom and I were enjoying a wonderful day browsing thru antique shops looking for new furniture for my house, I spied an old kitchen table..many layers of paint, rustic, beat up, just nasty. I fell in love! "I have to have it!!" I shout! She just looked at me with a great big toothy grin. Its not bad to grow up and be just like mom.!
