Does anyone know about the turnaround between contacting an editor and the reply to an author? I tried contacting a couple of editors; no replies as yet. I asked Literotica if the editors were still active; no reply on that issue either. I know, I know, maybe I'm impatient but I waited what I assumed was a reasonable amount of time. Now I'm starting to get that Kafka Castle feeling; arrive at the destination but can't find the entrance. I don't even know if my emails made it to the editors much less Literotica. Some advice would be appreciated. Prevert One

I haven't messed with the whole Editor thing in a long while, but it was always notorious for being dysfunctional, and I don't think things have improved much.

Probably a better approach to finding an editor would be to go to the Editor's Forum and post a request for help.

What he said. Also, in the EF, in the sticky, they post a monthly active editors thread.

Good luck.

The good Dr and DH have offered some good advice. If you're like me you might just cold call someone from the Editors Forum who is listed as a contact.....I've used the request for editor venue and never heard from anyone so don't feel abused....
I've also been contacted by folks who wrote to me via the active editor option and offered some advice but never got any followup on their progress or lack thereof....
I'll be glad to read any story you have except those in the Incest, violent BDSM, and Loving Wives categories.....Incest is personally repugnant to me, bloody sex may be fun but I'm not a fan, and Loving Wives is a situation on this site with rules that are poorly understood but rigidly enforced....I would stay away from that one.......

Then I guess I won't be sending you my new story, "How Felicia's Mother Raped Her and Cut Off Her Head" to edit.

There are few real editors on this forum, and the editor program is defunct. I'd suggest zeroing in on writers who are currently writing what and as you would like to and asking them them directly if they'll read and make suggestions on your story drafts.
