You are right, what I said was speculation on my behalf. It is pretty obvious though... We are all entitled to express our personal views privately, unless it is done in a public arena.
I suggest that people who read these forums, now know that they cannot hold a private conversation with you. and yes. That is my opinion... Based on facts...

People of the forum should also know that I consider any personal attacks in DM's fair game to publish for others to see, as well. I haven't ever received any, but if I did, I would not hesitate to share. I hope most here feel similarly. There should be zero expectation of privacy for slurs, abuse, or personal attacks.

I did nothing more than express my opinions on rape. I wasn't suggesting that I represented anybody else...
Although, I do condemn all convicted rapists.

Just so folks know, I agree that opening or moving personal attacks on me to the off-board message system isn't taken by me as protecting an attack on me. I have quoted such messages on the board in the past and I would hold it as an option to do in the future.

I'm not condoning any real life nonconsensual sexual behavior here. I just want to add some cents to the conversation.

A significant thing that comes to mind is, if the answer is yes, go ahead with the rape scene, another question comes right afterward: how will you execute it? A large portion of all this rests upon how the scene is written. People hated the Sansa Stark rape scene in Game of Thrones, partially because it didn't happen in the books and was the result of her ruined plotline and partially because it wasn't executed well. So... how would one do a rape scene well? It sounds like a disgusting question, but it's a purely technical one.

Unfortunately, we are handicapped by the victim must ultimately derive pleasure from the violation rule. It seems a rape scene would be more impactful if it forced all readers to empathize with the victim in the harshest way possible, but that's impossible because the victim has to enjoy it. So, within that parameter, how would one conduct a rape scene well?

Well, what does "well" mean, in this case? Realism might factor in, depending on your setting. Scifi or Fantasy might be able to circumvent the realism factor. Believability is the better term. Combining that with the earlier point, it must be believable that the victim enjoys it. That's the most important part of writing a good rape scene on Lit, I think.

It would probably be better off being conducted as a secret, perhaps even forgotten, fantasy being played out by force. Stockholm syndrome is a little too out there. The people involved don't have to have a very close or intimate personal attachment to each other for this to work.
