Turn rape into love?

Did all the men have heavy brows, big noses, and protruding upper jaws? Were the men ruggedly handsome in a neanderthal sort of way?
One of the most Mary Sue of Mary Sues, as I recall. Loads of bonking though, which was great for a teenager with an inquisitive mind.

You left out the Again!
I'm impressed with the job we AH denizens have done on this thread. So far we have references to ancient Rome, Ayn Rand, James Bond, and probably a few I missed. And it's a topic I think we just did a few weeks ago, yet we have ninety posts already. Meanwhile, the OP is either lurking somewhere or has lit out for the territory ahead of the rest.

Sorry, jumping back to the original topic…I just published the 9th and final chapter of my 4-year saga Warden’s Wife Pays His Debt. The basic premise is a convicted sex offender breaks out of prison as a result of a natural disaster and abducts the Warden and his wife on a whirlwind journey of depravity and revenge. It doesn’t evolve into a love story, but it easily fits within the parameters established by the purveyors of this website while suggesting some Stockholm Syndromish devolution in the process.

It’s been viewed over a million times and has a robust list of favoritors who have red-H’d each chapter and appreciated the fictional fantasy arc not always found here.

Like it or not, our world is filled with men and women who gain arousal from rape fantasies. It doesn’t mean they will act on them. Just as it doesn’t mean that while millions of Lit readers fantasize about incest, that father’s and mother’s are regularly fucking their daughters and sons. It’s erotic fiction, everyone has their kinks…I hope and suspect I’m preaching to the choir.

There's a big difference between rape fantasies where the woman (sometimes also a man) would like to say yes but knows she isn't allowed to, whether because she's married or they're in a society where casual sex is a no-no, so the only way either party can fantasise about them having sex is by thinking of it as rape, and rapist fantasies where the victim's lack of consent is what the rapist is getting off from.

Given how common the former was until very recently (see Nancy Friday's trilogy comparing sexual fantasies from the 60s to 90s), I can see why Lit wants to welcome such stories which are basically the Being Swept Away fantasy, but unfortunately the NC category includes too many of the latter for my taste.

Our perspectives align quite closely. You're stating that your readers are nasty little creatures who are drawn to everything that is forbidden and foul, deriving a morbid satisfaction from the abuse and coercion of others.
I haven’t been on the AH for awhile and I just remembered why, you had infected the previously interesting and engaging thread I was on last time also…

There are so many different situations that might be called rape.

Guy grabs a girl walking home and fucks her - if possible she would love to see him strung up and cut apart until he bleeds out - no love.

Girl sleeping or passed out and guy put his finger into her pussy - still rape but depends if she knows or pretends sleep maybe maybe not

Couple having sex and the guys friend comes in and askes it the girl can give him a blow job while fucking - if he says yes still rape

Quite the opposite. There are many more writers who refrain from expressing themselves because this platform has become a hotbed for deviant bullies and trolls. Anyone who shows their true ugly faces gets an ad hominem attack when there is no valid counterargument.

The one who trolls and makes unprovoked ad hominem arguments in the Author's Hangout is you, more than anyone else. I do not bully or troll. You do. Several times in this thread, I've stated my honestly held position that people should be able to fantasize about what they want. One may disagree with that opinion, but it's not trolling or bullying. You're the one who accused me of being a bully and troll in response to my expression of an opinion. You're the one who accuses people who enjoy these fantasies as being sickos and psychos. You're the one who attacks other forum participants' motives, knowledge, and mental fitness. THAT's the very definition of trolling and bullying. You are the definition of extreme intolerance if you believe, as you often state, that whole categories of fantasy stories should be eliminated from the site because you think they're bad.

My position is the opposite. People should be perfectly free to enjoy the fantasy stories they enjoy at this site, even if I don't personally like them, without being accused of being bad people. That position is the opposite of bullying.

Let's address this matter directly: the overwhelming majority of readers who visit the NC category are men who derive pleasure from coercion and violence against women, rather than from sexual acts.

This is pure, fact-free nonsense. There's not a shred of evidence to back this up.

I'm telling you, if bestiality were allowed, it would be a hilarious hit. There's only one thing better than eating animals—fucking them.

The fact that certain websites allow categories such as interracial and NC does not make it right.
My favorite bestiality story is the one with Catherine the Great.

Due to the gambler's fallacy, we are absolutely certain that if a coin has already landed on heads five times in a row, it is no more likely to land on tails the sixth time. In practice, the chance is still 50/50. Optimism bias prevents us from properly assessing the resources and time we need to invest in almost every project we undertake...

This one can be filed under the heading "Non Sequitur."

This certainly could be true, I don't know. I do know that in my own experience, the numbers tend to to indicate that stories which feature men dominating women are more popular than the reverse... And I have written a similar number of maledom vs femdom NC/R stories.

But I am curious, do you also think that horror movie fans are also monsters who derive pleasure from murder?

I hold a pretty grim view of humans, but I don't think I'd go that far.

But I am curious, do you also think that horror movie fans are also monsters who derive pleasure from murder?

You've asked the all-important question, which leads to another question, why do people, including people who are comfortable reading and writing smutty stories at an erotic story site, look at sex so differently from the way they look at everything else?

People have no problem with movies and stories about murder, and they don't assume that people who enjoy these stories, deep down, want to murder people. It's obvious that this is not true.

But there are people in this forum who seem to believe that if you enjoy nonconsent stories it means you want to rape people, or that if you like interracial stories you're a racist, or that if you like incest stories you're really a pedophile.

There's no evidence that any of it's true. Zip. Zilch. So why do people believe it?

I think it's because we're still hung up about sex. People simply cannot allow themselves to come to terms with the reality of sexual fantasies. People, even people who read and write erotic stories, continue to be threatened on a deep level by what they perceive as "sexual deviance." The reality, which many don't want to confront, appears to be that perfectly normal and healthy people have the most perverted and transgressive fantasies that you can imagine. We have plenty of evidence in the psychological literature for this. But people don't want to accept this.

I go away for a day, and this thing is still going on. We now also have references to Catherine the Great and Huck Finn (the latter was my doing).

Regarding the latter, the title of the thread, "Turn Rape into Love?," also reminds me of Huck Finn. That is late in the book when the two scammers Duke and King create their new poster for a show. One of them says, "There, if that line don't fetch them, I don't know Arkansas!"

If those fans exclusively watch this genre of movies, if they identify with the killers while watching, and if they expect the victims to enjoy being stabbed, then the answer is yes.
Hey, then I can't fault you for your beliefs. Your internal logic is mostly sound. Even though I disagree, I will say that at least (in this one regard) you aren't being hypocritical

And if the person uses a two-headed coin, I hope to shout. It will always land up heads. If lands on the head five times in a row, best check the coin.

I've never visited the US and never will (but I've visited Canada, Mexico and Barbados). Louisiana? Unfortunately, the Dixies constitute an overwhelming majority among the voters and commenters around here, thus defining the face of this place.
What do you mean by "Dixies?" White Southeners? They are are hardly an overwhelming majority on here. In any case, the heroine of my Geek Pride story and prequel is a white Southerner, and I think she's pretty cool. Remember, NC doesn't just stand for Non-Consent, it also stands for North Carolina.

You won't even visit this land of the free and home of the brave? You're missing out on a lot.

Possibly, my dear Tilan, we are only the best at identifying and cataloging ours. Perhaps, in other countries, they hide the bodies better.
Land of the freak and home of the sick?

Regrettably, I am currently subject to a travel ban due to an ongoing legal trial (I assure you, I have not engaged in any improper activities with my sheep). If the ban is lifted, I would be delighted to visit your lovely country, despite its reputation for having the highest rate of serial killers in the world.
