One of our local school board elections involves an interesting (and possibly dangerous) scenario.

The wife of one current member and the brother of another current member are running for the two vacant school board seats. If they both win, and it's probably a long shot for that to happen, then 80% of the school board will be controlled by two families. I'm surprised there's not a rule preventing this.

If the letters to the editor in our local papers are any indication, however, these people won't be elected.
