TSCLT 8.0: Jesus Hates A Pussy

Fuck the flathead. Put in the LS3.
If I'm going to hell, that's the right ride to get there with.

Yet another wonderful day at the range. One of the local sheriff's dept. has the LE range blocked off this week for their "Special Response" folks so I went over and shot the shit with them for a bit. Good group of guys, no attitude issues.

Looks like we're getting our last blast of warm weather. 80 deg. days and high 50's at night. That will change soon.

Heat wave here in Hotlanta.

Still bikini weather 😎

I just discovered a built in logic protection to my microwave. If you haven't used the microwave for some. Of time it insist that you open the door to make sure that you just put something in or at least picked in there to make sure what was in there was what you intended to nuke.

Quite some time ago I put a couple of cups of water in a pyrex measuring cup in order to boil water for my shave. Realizing that enough time has passed that I'm sure it's cool to quite a bit I went to zap it again and it flashed a message open. It wouldn't let me do anything until I open and then closed the door.

Now that the temperature is barely in triple digits I'm probably going to have to have a conversation with my landlord about the fact that my water heater is not actually heating any water. It's simply hanging on to the water that got heated because it's a water heater that sits outside in triple degree temperatures.

I've been reluctant to do so for a couple of reasons one is I like the landlord he doesn't have a lot of money has never raised my rent and if I was quite certain it was simply the water heater I'd probably just buy one and install it. The other reason that I'm reluctant is because if it's not the water heater then it's probably something with the very substandard wiring for this dwelling that certainly never saw a building inspector and I am reasonably sure does not have an actual occupancy permit. If it's a wiring issue that might involve some highly unqualified and probably but not certainly non-criminal individual entering my domicile to try to trace the fault.

The Simple Solution would be to unplug the water heater and plug some other electrical device into the socket and see if it lights up. The problem is this substandard wiring just looks like it wants to reach out and bite me. The receptacle that it's plugged into is not even secured to the box and the tangle of wires looks highly suspect and the insulation is fairly frayed.

This is a very small water heater must be the Kim Jeong Un model. It's about as wide as it is tall. The wiring looks like it's a standard 15 amp 110 volt system but having never messed with an electric water heater I always assumed they would have run on 220. My guess is this is the sort of water heater that they probably put in trailers.

Outside with all wiring exposed to the elements and some bare wire where the wall fell over last year and skinned the insulation and cracked open the conduit that it was coming through.

If I owned the place I would be digging a trench right now to bring an entire new line to a subpanel.

Happy Thursday!!!

It's going to be much cooler today, according to the forecast. In fact, it may be perfect riding weather.

The Wednesday gang asked me along for a wee adventure tonight. I said I'd go. It's be different.

That wiring thing sounds so iffy on a good day that I'd wonder if my shit is going to burn up while I'm out and about. Keep the smoke detector batteries fresh at all times . . . .

Good morning all.

Good Lord, if the wiring's that bad what in the hell does the plumbing look like? If the tank isn't leaking the most likely culprit is the element has burned out. Something about the water out there, the kid went through two WH's in 6 years up in Scottsdale.

For that matter the ckt. bkr. (if there is one) could have popped. I'd look there first.

I'm up, the dogs are up and I think my supper will soon be up.

But, on a brighter note, the sun is due up within the hour.

Moving along, one of the fellows out at the range had loaded up some Hornady 73 gr. ELD-M's and was trying them out. Very impressive results from an AR type platform. He was able to ring a 10 in. steel from 500 yds with every shot. 100 yd. groups were at or less than 1 MOA. He gave me a few to try from my rifle and the performance was quite good (100 yd). I immediately thought, "I got to have me some of these."

Further consideration has me not so enthusiastic. First of all he was shooting from a 20" barrel, mine is std. carbine, 16". That extra 4" makes a big difference in velocity. Next thing is that the 73 gr. ELD's are $20/100 and the 55 gr FMJ-BT's that I reload are $10/100. I'm never going to get the full performance out of those bullets without buying a 20" barrel and I don't routinely shoot over 300 yds with that rifle anyway. Lastly I'm running a red dot with a 2 MOA dot. That means my sight subtends 20" @ 500 yds. which means that along with the new barrel I'm going to have to spring for a scope as well. (His rifle was scoped.) Somehow throwing upwards off $500 at a rifle so I can shoot ammo that costs almost twice as much in a rifle that I'm rarely ever going to push beyond 300 yds isn't sounding wise or practical. I think I'll stick with the AR-10 project.

That's interesting, but have you noticed a trend here?

Porn picture threads are dominating conversation threads.

They're all started by the usual culprits and I have them on mental ignore. Wat generally provides enough "eye candy." :)

Where's Wat?

Does he think he can mail it in?

Should I try texting him? Will the cat be able to confess?
