The horses are set for another year.

There is nothing like the smell of fresh hay.

I agree with that.

Cat: Papers? Papers? I don't need no stinkin' papers.

Mouse? Mouse? Don't talk about mice? I just hope to get get one more free meal! Mouse?

Make sure the chair is an antique.

It will be your loss, but the gain of everyone else who owns one (or more) of them.

Allah wills it! Why else would he burden us with cats?

There must be garlic.

I went to make some cinnamon buns and discovered that there was a biscuit tube in the wrong slot at the grocery store. Well, if I had some thawed sausage, it would be biscuits and gravy instead, but the big freezer is still full of the stuff from the little freezer, so finding sausage is a needle in a haystack...

Oh what a day. So freaking hot and humid, but the cooling thunderstorms just don't have enough instability to form...

I refilled the bird feeder and the squirrels beat the birds to it, so I reloaded the .22. The problem is, it's too freaking hot to play the, "I'm opening the door, so that you'll get used to it," game.

No wonder you are so bored and hateful, your day consists of rubbing your aching knee and watching birds all day. No human interaction , whatsoever.

What a shitty life. No wonder you make the GB your little fantasy world, you racist geezer.

Funny how the wisdom of the elders turned into the stupidity of the elders.

I think that I blame the Pepsi Generation...

Home early. We got rained out. Our task was to re-install a couple of pieces of the ever-loathed but quite functional chain-link fencing. No matter, it'll be there in the morning.

Wat was not skewered by lightning.

It was a million degrees, and 15 minutes later, it was 8 degrees cooler than when I went to work this morning.

Came in to cat puke. My favorite. It's his first lunch-launch since he became a road kitteh, so that's not bad, methinks.

Morning Wat.

BBQ with the neighbors planned for tomorrow. I'll be furnishing the potato salad. Store bought. I wish the hell I had gotten my mothers recipe while she was still alive.

Have to remember to lock the animals up. Big loud Ariel fireworks are banned here but everyone ignores the law. I probably would too if the fire hazard weren't so damn high.

I'm still trying to figure out how to return an ice-maker auger that was ordered but not returned in a timely manner thanks to a little road trip...

;)

Today is supposed to be cooler, because, you know, rain. The problem with the rain is that is it isolated and some of us get and and some of us don't. Even when it doesn't rain, everything is wet anyway thanks to dew. Even at noon, it's still dropping off the trees.

The lilies are all blooming and shit smells good outside, like a heavy perfume. The driveway has a thick blanket of pink and white from the little mimosa tree that could. It took only about eight years for it to grow to the towering 50' giant that it is now. And, man, is it ever blooming.

My ribs did come with potato salad, but the recipe used too much mustard and not enough tasty goodness like celery and onion, imho. The ribs were perfect in seasoning and falling off the bone doneness. Life is good. I might use up two years worth of fireworks tonight, just because I can. Then I can enjoy everyone else's displays tomorrow.
