The Big Boos Man is coming to town today. IT seems that he's looking at at least one more job down this way. Hell, I like it here, and the trades seem to be a notch up from what we had on the last gig, except for the HVAC service techs. They seem to suck universally.


Got good coffee in the room this morning, so Allah was doing his job at least partway.

Tesla was one brilliant son-of-a-gun.
I have a book of his technical writings/papers and half the time, I have to crack my old physics books and refresh myself on the concepts and math he used.

At least it doesn't give me those nightmares where you wake up convinced you weren't going to graduate because of that one advanced math class you signed up for and then forgot to attend...

Tesla stepped out of the box and then went all over the map. Too bad he wasn't worth a shit when it came to business.
 
Home - crib - hotel room. Kitteh is okay. Still seems to spend his days behind the bed waiting for his human. Still think that it's the different noises. He's staring at the front wall now.


Some asshat in Texas got my (main) card number, made a card, and couldn't deduce my PIN. The bank caught it and called me. Result: no money missing, a dead old card, the nearest bank branch is 90 miles away, and a new card being expedited to the hotel. The bad news: tough to access the dollars. The okay news: I'm paid here until Saturday, when the new card should arrive. I have a second bank account, but there's not much money in it, but enough to pay the freight until Monday. So the weekend plans went into the crapper unless the card shows first thing Saturday morning, which it won't. But alternate weekend plans seem to have become possible now.


Some days, adulting takes a bit of . . . effort.


But it beats all fuck out of being a dramatic bitch about it. Allah has Wat covered . . . .

See if your main bank will at their expense wire some money to your other account that you do have a card for
 
I have two accts. at the same bank for that very reason. I can xfer $$$ between the two accts. online so if one card gets whacked I can just move the money over and use the second card. The odds of both cards getting whacked at the same time is astronomical.

Tesla worked for my first FIL's company for a bit. He was commissioned to perfect his bladeless turbine design. As a turbine it didn't work out very well but has recently been resurrected as a pump for abrasive liquids. Nothing like being 100 yr.s ahead of the curve.

Actually, I do have a second account at that same bank for the wee non-profit volunteer group that I am treasurer for. I can move money from my account to that one with ease. Since I'm the only one who ever sees the account - I just give a report monthly - I can use it, if need be, and no one is the wiser.


I'll start a second account next time I'm in a branch, for me.


No matter, things always seem to work out, unless they kill you, in which case they worked out some other way . . . .
