In Alabama in the rest areas - Wat stopped at two - they paneled the main entry areas with honest-to-Allah three and a half inch v-groove Lesbian Southern yellow pine wainscoting/paneling (tongue in groove).


I guess since they are where the Southern yaller pines grow . . . .


It was a really neat detail.


Now, if they would only build roadside mosques for those us us who need to stop to pray five times per day . . . .

Too early to be up, and yet, here I am.
Damned good ribeye last night. I made enough for leftovers, so breakfast will be a snap.
 
Up having some coffee and taking care of some correspondence before heading out to the range. Gonna get out there early because it's going to be a scorcher today, and tomorrow. Got some new loads for the 300 to check out today and a new reflex sight for the AR is coming in today so I'll be sighting that in tomorrow.
 
Happy Wednesday!!! It's nice to get back on the dole. Got my first full paycheck since 4/11. Of course, I'm also back up to full expenses, too.


I wish the dadgum hotel lobby/breakfast buffet thingie opened at 6 instead of 6:30. Who planned that? Not me, obviously.


Kitteh seems t be getting more acclimated. He's eating, albeit not much. It's quiet now, so he's not looking at the door evey 3 minutes to see what that noise was.


But it's still weird waking up with him mooshed against my leg. Little Furrball.

Back at the cat pad. Fuck a chickenshit nap, I need a night's sleep. Put in like 11 hours today. There were lots of folks what needed bossed around.


The Latina painter/drywall person is awfully darned cute. Girl's got a nice ass on her, too. ;) She is working there with her son. Their work is . . . okay.


Fuck that, they're much better than the last crew we had at the other job. The floor guys may be, too.


I'm still not entirely sold on how complete we're going to be come end of the month, so . . . .

Mamacita's drywall helper, the gringo kid they call Crackhead, was struggling with a piece of wallboard that was whipping his ass.


So I walked over, told him to "watch out there, Sweetheart," took it from him and fitted it, adjusting the binding spot with a well-placed rabbit punch.


I may have told him that it would take him to Xmas at that rate.


They offered me a job . . . . ;)

OK, that's funny.

The one thing about the Latins, and especially the Mexicans, they are damn good at masonry, dry wall, and stucco. I think it's genetic. The only issue I have with them as contractors is that they'll fudge on material quality if you don't watch out.

These two are labor brokered. I know that Junior is a citizen (born here), but Mamma might not be even though her Engrish is better'n lots of natives here.


I imagine that I'll get a chance to sit and chat with her sometime.


It might be nice to do it over dinner.
