The Daily Beast is reporting that the Department of Justice, under the leadership of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is taking steps to investigate Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortion in the United States.

In a report produced by the Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans in December, contracts between biomedical research corporations and Planned Parenthood affiliates were exposed to scrutiny.

The report detailed the “specimen service fees” that biomedical researchers charged for tissue from a 20-week-old fetus –– $325 for a fetus’s brain, $650 for two eyes –– and questioned whether the biomedical research corporations ultimately profited from their disbursement of fetal tissue.

Selling human tissue is a bit more concerning than chicken wings.

Oh good, lets spend more tax dollars on investigations in to something that several investigations have found zero evidence of wrong doing, in spite of the release of doctored video.

You mean investigators at CNN?

No.
I'm talking about the investigations by:
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Massachusetts
Michigan
Missouri
Nevada
Ohio
Pennsylvania
South Dakota
Washington

Also the United States Congress. Unless that's what you mean by Washington.

Sounds like bullshit:

"Fox News broke the story Thursday evening, reporting that they had obtained a letter from Justice Department Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Stephen Boyd to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. This letter asked for unredacted documents from that committee, which had been investigating Planned Parenthood.

“This is long-awaited, good news,” said Abby Johnson, a former abortion advocate and Planned Parenthood director who is now a pro-life activist.

“Planned Parenthood has actively participated in illegal activity, selling the body parts of aborted babies in exchange for profit,” said Johnson. “They’ve lied to the very women they purport to fight for. I saw it first-hand when I worked for the abortion giant and yet, they still manage to obtain over half a billion dollars a year in our tax dollars.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee announced in 2016 that it recommended the FBI and DOJ investigate and possibly prosecute Planned Parenthood, some of its affiliates, and companies involved in the trafficking of young human body parts.

The U.S. House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives also made 15 criminal referrals against abortion companies including Planned Parenthood, universities, and fetal tissue companies."

The truth that congress found no wrongdoing on the part of PP?
No, that doesn't hurt at all.

Guess you can't read. The House has made 15 criminal referrals to the DOJ in regard to PP and other abortion clinics. The Senate made a recommendation for criminal prosecution of PP as well, of course the corrupt Obama DOJ did nothing but now there could be action on those.

No they didn't.
They made a recommendation against a Texas PP affiliate. And even the "evidence" there is sketchy.

And you have to keep in mind all this came from a committee that "determined" there have been no significant medical advances resulting from fetal cell research.

I can read just fine and I don't need to embellish what they said with lies and moving the goal posts by slipping in "other abortion clinics".

I believe we had a thread like this a couple of years ago. At that time, I stated my opinion - that I am not pro-abortion, and I doubt anybody is actually pro-abortion. However, sometimes a girl or woman will discover she is pregnant and that the pregnancy will result in problems. When this happens she, maybe with the advice of others, must make a decision, and sometimes this decision is to get an abortion. I am pro-choice, and believe she has a right to make that decision.

When she does, one of the results is fetal tissue that has been removed. The female who had the abortion must decide how to dispose of the tissue and, again, this is her choice. The tissue might be evidence in a criminal case if the girl is under the age of consent or was otherwise raped or the pregnancy resulted from incest.

Would anybody here object to the tissue being examined at the police lab for evidence, such as DNA?

Usually, nothing like that happens. The girl or woman decides what to do with the tissue, but I can't imagine anybody wanting to save it, so it could be treated as garbage, and either burned or buried.

However, there are those people and organizations who may want and need that tissue - medical research facilities and hospitals. They may be able to use at least some of it for research into a variety of illnesses, resulting in the saving of thousands of lives. Fetal stem cells may result in better lives for millions of other people. In other words, what would otherwise be considered garbage may improve the lot of humanity.

Of course, this costs money. The tissue must be very carefully removed and very delicately handled on its way to the facility that will use it. This can be an expensive undertaking, but I believe it's worth it. PP or the hospital or clinic pays to send the tissue on its way and is reimbursed by the researchers, who are probably then reimbursed by the taxpayers, but I consider this to be a valid use of tax revenues. I don't know if anybody besides the air carrier makes a profit on this series of transactions, but I don't care if they do.
