Looks like I ran everyone off, so I'll head on up to bed.

Take care everyone. Thinking of WM and Lusty, hoping they are safe and sound.

Reporting in from the path of Charley's rath. Guys, I gotta tell you, a cat 4 hurricane is a big mean thing! My humble abode appears to have survived quite well....down a few shingles, tree limbs and such. But just a few miles down the road, nothing held up. Amazingly the electric, save for a few flickers, held all threw the storm. I now understand why a very large bottle of Jim Beam is a must for those hurricane survivel kits :D

Winzy is about an hour north of here, so my guess is he is just fine.

Glad to hear you are safe, Lusty

It's almost time....

A guy took his girlfriend to her first football game. Afterwards, he asked her how she liked the game.

"Oh, I really liked it," she said, "but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other for 25 cents."

"What on earth do you mean?" asked the guy.

"Well, I saw them flip a coin, and one team got it; and then, for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: "Get the quarter back! Get the quarter back!"

Really glad to hear you're ok. Hopefully WM will post soon and let us know he's fine too.

Needed to go out yesterday and check on a family memeber that lived a bit further south then I do....OMFG!!!!!!! I have never seen anything like this!!! It is worse than a war zone! There is no water, no electricity, no gas, no food, no roofs, no buildings. Power lines are lying all over, huge 100 year old trees uprooted.
There is just no way to discribe the devestation.

Our little hamlet was blessed in deed....yes we had some major damage, mostly mobil homes, but most still have a place to call home. Charlotte county sits next door, so close the county line runs down the back of my property. Punta Gorda was a beautiful historic fishing village; I often dined and shopped there. I don't know, maybe the shock is just starting to wear off....now I just want to sit down and cry. All family members have been accounted for so I am more than thankful for that. Stuff can be replaced....but people can't. If anyone is wanting to help, please contact your local Red Cross. They figured out after Andrew, that donations of food and clothing really cause a major problem, so this time they are requesting cash.

I know I'm rambling.......but as I said, the shock is beginning to wear off......Everyone have a great weekend....just keep in mind, it could all be over in an instant.

I confess I am totally taken with someone...and it gets better every day:heart:

The daily dose

A elderly lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, "I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today."

The bartender says, "Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink. In fact, this one's on me."

As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, "I would like to buy you a drink, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you," to the woman on her right.

"Bartender, I want a Scotch with two drops of water."

"Coming up," says the bartender.

As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, "I would like to buy you one, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you, sir. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water."

"Coming right up," the bartender says. As he gives her the drink, he says, "Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?"

The old woman replies, "Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Water, however, is a whole other issue."

Heard from Winzy yesterday, so I wanted to let ya all know he's safe.

Sorry gang! Had a busy weekend as you well know. We shutdown the office Friday and Monday was catch up and set up as a lot of our clients took their computers home to keep them safe. So I wasn't near my computer at the office until near Quitting Time.

I confess that even tho School starts in 2 more weeks,I am really gonna miss having my son around the house:(

Random Thoughts

It's sobering to think there was a time in this country when women couldn't vote. I mean, how hard is it to vote, for crying out loud?!

Stopping by to say hi to all the TCers! Hope ya'll are doing well and weren't affected by Charley! Have a great weekend if I don't get back in here before then!

*wondering when his feet will touch ground again?*

hey bud, have fun, but watch what you eat...........no need in getting sick on the rides!

1. At a Music Store: Out to lunch. Bach at 12:30. Offenbach sooner.

2. At the entrance of a large machinery plant: Warning to young ladies: If you wear loose clothes, beware of the machinery. If you wear tight clothes, beware of the machinist.

3. In a dry cleaner's emporium: Drop your pants here.

4. Message on a leaflet: If you cannot read, this leaflet will tell you how to get lessons.

5. Outside a second-hand store: We exchange anything - bicycles, washing machines etc. Why not bring your wife along and get a wonderful bargain.

No doubt....Nothing kills the mood like getting sick on the ride.

I will do my best to eat right.
