LOL I'm going to tell you what I've told everyone that isn't able to come...it is going to be fairly hectic, especially with planning being put behind schedule this week with the hurricane approaching. I won't have near enough time to visit as I wish I could. So, I hope that instead, over the next year family and loved ones can plan a vacation at their timetable and then I can spent one on one time better and hey....who can pass up free lodging for a Florida vacation! So, what drink are we toast you and your family with in the meantime???? Pick your favorite!

Thanks to everyone for all the love and support and happy thoughts. It seems like we've been planning this forever and now that it's only 12 days away, it almost doesn't seem real...like a fantasy still waiting to happen. For everyone who can't make it....trust me...there will be PLENTY of pictures posted.

I'm having a hard time falling asleep tonight with that damn storm heading right for us. I've been trying to talk myself into believing it wont be so bad...but it's not looking good. I'm thankful that it's coming now, instead of two weeks from now..but still, it is really screwing with our plans and work schedule. I've got some major real estate loans that were supposed to close monday and now they'll be put off until we get power back, etc. Plus 13 condos I have for sale are all supposed to close this week as well. Just really screwing with my wedding budget cushion...as if I didnt have enough stress already!!

Jewelz, thank you for the really touching note you wrote on the back of your response card. It meant alot to both of us. And Sorta is right (God I hate calling her that here!! LOL), we're not going to have any time to really spend with anyone now...but when the weather gets too cold for you to bare, sunny florida will be waiting for you and the family. (Assuming the whole damn place hasn't blown away!)

SS, like Sorta said, no worries on the bar...we've got you covered. Just PLEASE dont push too many FLD's on her..she's a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and the last thing I want is her passing out cold that night.

Lusty - Congrats on quitting your job! I know how good it can feel... I just quit a new job last week that I had started at the end of August. I am returning to my previous job today... you have to go where your heart is and to what makes you happy. Good luck!

Would you believe the sun actually shinning? Looks like this part of the state is out of Wilma's reach this afternoon! It was a very crappy morning and I haven't ventured out yet, but things look pretty good from my window. And I obviously have power and net Huge temp change...was 74 at 6AM and at 12:30 it's 64....and no humidity. Fall has finally arrived! And with such a bang!

There offer to take the job I was leaving on as an independent contractor was actually my immed. supervisor's idea. I know the crazy man is considering it cause he requested that another copy of the contract be sent.

Earlier today I was talking to a lady here in England, on yahoo messenger, for about 10 minutes or so.
She asked if I could see her picture in the messenger window.
I could not, and we both agreed I needed to upgrade my Yahoo.

AFter she left I went to Yahoo.co.uk looking for an upgrade, tried to install it, pressed run.
A window opens, smething about a DLL file.

Now the only DLL that Blue knows is that delicious Dangerously Low Levi`s in the US, and she is welcome on my PC anytime baby.

OK, I digress, I realised I was getting nowhere, and then the stupid side of my brain kicks in

"Hey Blue, uninstall messenger, and then re-install it, problem solved."

Ya think?

No frigging way people, got same message about DLL file.

GRRRRRRR

So now here I am, not only no upgrade, but no messenger either.

OK, I still have it on my laptop, but I HATE that damn keyboard, white letters on black keys are CRAP, with a capital K

So I spent the afternoon saving my stuff, to my flashpen, and CD ROMs.

Tomorrow morning I will re install Winders XP, and Microsoft office, and my adsl modem, and my printeers, and Adobe Photoshop, and Norton Internet Security, and God knows what else.
So, like I said

I am a first class, grade 1, top of the range, absolutely stupid frickin idiot.

I have unfortunate news. Sorta and Dans wedding has been cancelled due to the hurricane. I have very little information beyond the fact that it is postponed and in their area there is still no power (and I gather not expected for some time yet).

Hopefully, things will improve quickly. I will update if I get more info.

Edit/ power is projected out for possibly weeks in south florida

Blue ... before you go to all that trouble, there may be an easier way. The message about the missing DLL file probably mentioned the specific DLL that was missing. Google it and you may find that there is page (perferably from Microsoft) telling where to get just that DLL and how to install it. Won't save you from all the work you've already done ... but might save you time tomorrow ...

Sorry to hear the news, but as long as everyone is safe I suppose waiting a while longer will seem like a small consequense in the end. Best wishes to those involved.

Weird day today!
Still very upset for danny and sorta(dont believe jenny how emotional i got!)
but happy about not having to go back to the job i finished yesterday!

Thank you again SS for posting the update here. It meant a lot to me to let everyone know what was happening. Sorry I couldn't be more specific, I still haven't mastered IMing on my cell phone.

To all our friends and family here, just to let you know we have indeed had to change all wedding plans, but I'll be damned if I'll let a little thing like a major hurricane wiping out S Florida, or weeks of no power prevent me from marrying Danny.

Most of the damage to us was exterior, with only two broken windows and our screened enclosure over the pool now being a piece of twisted metal in the pool, more lost fencing, and metal shed flying away. I never thought I'd know what it felt like to be Dorothy until now, LOL. Pretty crazy ride, much more intense than the two last year.

As for the wedding, the show will go on, just not as planned. We've decided to evacuate to Orlando for the week. We are now in a nice A/c cooled room with a brand new laptop to mass communicate with all the guests as well as work some if possible. My dad is due to fly in tomorrow, and he reminded me as I realized that all that we have spent the last year and a half budgeting our lives away for that I need to just focus on the reason for it all, marrying the man I love. So my coordinator is arranging for a small, impromtu, casual wedding in a semi-secluded park in this quaint little town outside Orlando, fittingly named, Celebration, Florida.

We decided to save all the extravagance until our community is repaired and livable...which is going to take a LONG time, so next December (right after the official end of hurricane season!) we will renew our vows, formally with the gowns and tuxes, and all the vendors are being wonderful about floating our deposits and rescheduling for next year.

I was devasted some at first, but this gives us the best of both worlds, I get to marry Danny now, comfortably in blue jeans, outdoors, and I still get another year to plan an even more spectacular wedding next year and make all those girly dreams come true.

So that's the plan, and we are very grateful that we are safe, and together and still going to be man and wife!!!

sweet sc... i am so thankful to come here and read your update. it is a relief to know that YOU are doing ok through all of this. and I am very happy to hear that the marriage will go on in spite of the grip wilma had on other plans that took months to coordinate. but no amount of extravagance will ever compare to the importance of the day and its meaning. the only thing that needs to be present on the wedding day is the undying love and commitment of you and danny. everything else is secondary! i wish i were down there with you all though. i wish you the best and most beautiful day! much love to you both.
