Hello to all of the TCers including all of the newbies! I hope you are having a great weekend.

Nigel goes in for surgery on Monday morning for a relatively routine procedure but I am still a little nervous. Everything will be fine I'm sure. His mother is coming down tomorrow to stay with us for the week to help take care of him as he will be in bed for awhile recovering and I can't take the whole week off from work. She wasn't supposed to come til Tuesday so the early arrival has me a little thrown off because I wanted to be further along with the house. Oh well, she'll have to deal.

Currently awaiting Wilma to smack us upside the head.....at least she is no longer a cat 5; but now that she is in the warm waters of the gulf, she is expected to strengthen....tell me again why I live in Florida? The interstate has been a congested mess since Thursday with people leaving. I'm staying put and riding it out here at home; much more comfortable than a shelter and prolly more secure.

And now for a confession; I quit my job Friday . The boss is an insane asshole and his craziness was driving me crazy. I figure if you gotta take Zanix just to be able to get through the working day, then it's time to move on. I've been toying with the idea of freelancing anyway, so now I have the opportunity. I did offer my services as an independent contractor and if he signs the agreement I'll have my first client.

So if anybody out there is in the market for a web developer/graphic artist I am open for business. And I gotta admit, this is a very scary thing

Procrastinating the storm prep work this morning so I can sip some coffee and respond.

IL, be safe. I forgot you were here in FL too. Are you putting up shutters? Ugh, I think that's a part of the work we've got laid out for us today, plus securing all the furniture and planters around the pool before those bands start pouring. I didn't even realize until last night that Lauderdale had flooding yesterday from a distant feeder. Crazy, eh?

Dreamy! Honey I would LOVE to have you come to the wedding! I don't know if I can reach my coordinator until after the wedding to get an invitation mailed...but it is Nov. 4th in Boca. Please PM me in the next day or so, so I can get you more details!!!

Jenny & Oman, first of all WOOOOHOOOOO for the new job. That is the best news! I'm so very happy for you both. It's time for things to just get brighter and brighter for you both. And we will be toasting the two of you.

LOL I'm going to tell you what I've told everyone that isn't able to come...it is going to be fairly hectic, especially with planning being put behind schedule this week with the hurricane approaching. I won't have near enough time to visit as I wish I could. So, I hope that instead, over the next year family and loved ones can plan a vacation at their timetable and then I can spent one on one time better and hey....who can pass up free lodging for a Florida vacation!
