sad to say ... at that point in time sleep is all that would have happened (though it turned out to be restless ... I think I have caught a bug of some sort ... almost every time I fly something like this occurs ..)

Nope, I suck. We quit for a month, then we slowly went back. We are smoking quite a deal less than we ever did, which is relatively positive, but we just haven't been able to give it up completely. Honestly, I hadn't noticed my title in some time -- and it needs to be changed....

NG (and Nigel). Don't give up, not ever. Don't want to tell you how many times I tried ... and the simple fact is that I still haven't stopped smoking ... I just haven't smoked in years and years (with one or two exceptions). ... I just haven't smoked today. And hopefully I won't smoke tomorrow.

Keep trying, keep working ... eacyh time you don't smoke a cig it is a victory .. my best to you both!

Good seeing so many familiar names here. I have discovered that beer keeps me awake, so I'm still up (Oman finally went to bed), and I'll likely regret it in a few hours.

NG, don't give up trying not to smoke. Took me 5 tries before it finally took effect (big help was the increase in prices, plus I was actually feeling heaviness in my chest). Good luck to both you and Nigel.

SS, thank you (as always) for you beautiful words! The problem I referred to does not reflect my relationship with Oman (thank goodness!). I'm struggling though several emotional issues, but I'm seeing a professional, and Oman is my ROCK. I feel very hopeful that these "setbacks" will definitely keep move ahead (it's just frustrating that it takes so long to undo so much!). Thanks for your kindness and concern.

Hon, I feel your pain. Rumor has it that the tobacco habit is harder to kick than heron for some. I've quit a couple of times....once for 4 months and then something stressful comes along and BAM, I be lighting up again I find it interesting how under stress( and boredom) we humans attempt to comfort ourselves orally.....smoking, drinking, eating...... Best I can figure out is that is goes back to when we were infants and the nipple was comfort. The big thing in these parts is a one time shot that removes all cravings and withdrawal.....but until a program comes along that addresses the oral fixation, success rates aren't going to be any higher than they are now. What baffles me is all the $$$ the state goverments got from the tobacco companies, how come zip was spent on programs to help those of us that bought into the media hype of yesteryear?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am feeling a bit rough this morning (well, afternoon now) after a too late night and too much to drink. Ugh. My friend and I went to this little dive bar and for only the second time in my life I sang karaoke. I was nervous as hell and won't be doing that again unless there are some serious illegal substances in my system. And the likelihood of that happening are about zero. We then went to a club, which was packed and playing a lot of fun dance music. I ran into a couple of people from my work there, which was about the most interesting part of the club portion on the night. I am so not the club type person. I never really have been, and it is even tougher being a "thirtysomething recently divorced mother of two young children." I was not in my element, to say the least.

I also want ed let you all know that it is likely that I will not be posting in TC for some time. Personal events have come up that require my attention ... and in this case my abscence.

I expect that you will see me posting on some other threads (poetry will always be allowed, as will most word games ... but I expect that anything other than that I will refrain from at the moment).
