He thought about it for half a second. He really did. The thought of bringing one of the most beautiful women in the country to town on his arm had a great appeal. After all what man doesn't want to have a gorgeous woman on his arm that will turn every head in town? He had his vanity, and knew that weakness had to be resisted. At least for now.

After that half second her shook his head slowly. "No, I don't think you are ready for that yet."

He saw the spark of anger in her eyes and explained, "That is something you will have to earn. I can't trust you not to draw attention to the situation, and the complications that will bring with it."
