Trom's Transformer Goodness

Well, for the most part. Grimlock is an interesting character. He's portrayed differently in ever single continuity. Even in the TV series his character changed from season to season. In season 1 he was basically just a tool, summoned for missions that required brute strength. In season 2 we saw more of what I consider to be his true personality. He was arrogant, and was extremely difficult to deal with, and even left the Autobots. The 3rd season was a travesty. He was reduced to comic relief, and is a large reason why I dislike season 3. He was much more intelligent in the comics, and I feel that that is the most accurate depiction of his character.

But that's my point, not all of the characters retained their full personality in the different continuities...

Well, these Bios that I've been using come from the Dreamwave books, but those personalities are drawn from the original descriptions from the tech specs with only slight differences, if any at all. Some Bios they had to create from scratch, like for the Micromasters since they never received individual personalities. The early characters are all very accurate though. I actually read the original Bio for Thundercracker, and this Bio was pretty much the same aside from the writers putting it in their own words. I wouldn't post them if I didn't feel they were accurate portrayals of their individual characters.

Today was pajama day at school. Lots of Transformer jammies. I thought of Trom. :)

Honestly, the kids these days really are missing out on the old G1 style TF as well as the comic.

:) TF fan here too! I wanted Optimus Prime as my dad, LOL!

We had a transformer trickertreating with us on halloween, he was so cute! :D And we bought the ddv while we were in the states as it didnt come out here at the same time. Hubby wants to share it with the b-i-l and I dont wanna *pouts* Its mine all mine!

Loving the thread, still remeber how exited i was on christmas day when i unwrapped my optimus prime. I remember a childhood friend having a triple changer and we never got it to transform into its third form which was an ape lol.

I wish it were around more too, but at least we don't have to go completely without G1. IDW Publishing does the new G1 based comic books, and they also do a series with all the old comic stories. I saw it in Borders and thoroughly enjoyed it. Plus they did the re-releases, and Masterpiece Prime. Now we can be thankful for Masterpiece Starscream, which will be available only at Wal-Mart. :D So looking forward to that.

Although I still want Reissue Soundwave. :(

Glad you like the thread. :) Just wish I had more time to contribute to it. I plan on doing a lot more reviews once I'm out of school for Winter break.

Oh, and that triple changer you mentioned would be the Decepticon Headmaster Apeface. :D Cool character.

And, a random pic I found with thoughts of Trom's story obviously on their mind...

Thanks for the bump DL. :)

Hey Trom, how 'bout a bio for the various AVs put up...
I would love to, but my book only has bios for characters whose names start with Pr-Z. :(

Maybe I could get them off of seibertron.com, but I'm not entirely sire what continuity they use for their bios. I'm off to look. :p

From what I've seen they use the TV show, but not absolutely positive about that...

I'm gonna use 'em anyway. :p Already put up a few on the "Trom's birthday av week" thread.

Apeface thanks man i had sandstorm he was the one i remember really. What did you think of the live action movie? Do you rember the transformers that split into a tank and jet(decepticon?) and the apachie and car(autobot?). I remember having the toys but cannot remember them from any cartoons?

Those characters would be the Duocons, and they never made an appearance on the U.S. TV series, except for a brief appearance by one of them in the intro for the 4th season. They are both Decepticons though. There was Flywheels who split into the plane and tank, and Battletrap who split into the helicopter and car.

As for the movie, IT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!! I watch it almost everyday now that I have it on DVD. :p

Anyone got a clue what I should use for an AV this week? I am yet to be inducted into the ways of Transformers (though youngest son is planning to change that)
