Troll Support Group Needed

I have one comment that I deleted -- which I wish I'd kept now so I could quote it -- that bashed Texas Mermaids for being "anti-Texan" and gave it a 2. It was just too moronic to leave out there.

He, he, but do you really have black, strappy heels?

The best way to deal with this is to try to imagine this guy as he wrote that, imagine how fucked up his life must be to try to get enjoyment form writting that. Is he really talking about his wife or girlfriend? Maybe his daughter or mother? Did he ejaculate on his keyboard with his final exclamation mark?

That always helps me.

Also, some of what I consider to be the most positive feedback, without specifics of course, is "read your story, wanna cybersex?"

:rose:

Does this answer your question? ;)

I figure this person just needed something to ease his/her boredom. I replied in the Anonymous thread, which helped immensely. Of course, there's the part where, after a few days in DC with my Gent, I can personally attest to the fact that there's NOTHING faggoty about him.

I did get some really nice feedback from a lady who loved the story, saying it's romantic as well as sexy and erotic. She went on to say it's the best erotica she's read. :D

Trolls.........A Necessary Evil?

I guess getting trolled is par for the course when you're a writer on Literotica.

In my mind, I imagine trolls to be folks who are too stupid to actually write and therefore jeolous of those who can, so they say moronic things to make themselves feel less inferior. :catroar:

Why would i want to support trolls....

Let them get their own support group....

I got one that wasn't a troll vote, but the reader said he loved my story and gave me a 75% instead of 100%, because he wanted to see what I did with it next . . .

I got the same thing. "Great story, praise, kudos, love it" - 75%.

I especially hate the one-bombs with no comment.

Once upon a time, I cared about these things.
You did! I remember! You were so articulately outraged, and then you had procedural correctives to suggest.

You were so passionate then about the little frog pond here.

Alright, I know as a writer who's gotten her share of both positive and negative feedback, as well as one who's been trolled, that I'm supposed to let the trolls' comments just roll off my back, and generally I'm pretty good about it. But GEEZ!!! OK, fine if someone thinks my writing is drivel or my words are trite. Whoopedy-doo if someone finds my sex unoriginally boring or outlandishly offensive. That's someone simply expressing their opinion about my writing in the (usually) anonymous troll-like way. However... I received feedback on my latest submission that was just mean and personal!

This is from another Litster - probably a Playgrounder - who's read mine and DJ's thread (he wrote a short involving beads). OK, the snide comments about me bug me, but the comment about DJ really burns me up!!! (And I know he'll be just the opposite.) It's personal AND chickenshit, because this individual doesn't have the balls to address it by name or publicly.

OK. I'm done with my rant.

You have a right to be pissed! I'd be as well. I've been dive-bombed at numerous times but have never been subjected to such vile comments by my recollection. As writers we just want to express ourselves and put ideas out there, hoping that others might find the stories enjoyable. It does nobody any good to slam us. It's not as if we're being rewarded in any shape or fashion.

Big huggsss! <Hmm, you smell good>

And a middle finger to the person responsible! Shame on you!

Sorry. Just because I edited... <grin>

Ah, fuck. I thought this would be a group to support trolls.

Trolls to the right... don't mind the brief screams of ecstasy, it's what you deserve after all!

Don't mind the reddish-white spray out the other end, that's just the Strawberry Daquiris waiting!

What if you aren't a troll but just want to support their often-misunderstood work?

I think there's a school of thought that says you shouldn't give someone the highest score because that would mean they are perfect and have no room for improvement.

Personally, if I like the story enough to read the whole thing, and if I know the person, they generally get a 5 from me. But i'm easy. ;)

I thought you were grousing about troll votes, I've read two comments that were from authors who were thrown off and confused by 4's? Why is it so hard to accept that the people voting a 4 or 75% thermo-rating liked your story but didn't find it perfect? A 'B' grade where I come from is still enough to get you on the Honour Roll.

I think they were maybe wishing the reader said what it was that made it imperfect. Just like in school I hated getting a B with no comments on the paper.

My trolls keep giving me fives. They're really fucked up.

Exactly. I can handle 3s or 4s, but it's a pain not getting comments to accompany them. If I truly need to improve (OK, I'll humbly admit that I do), then I want to know how.

Thanks, AS!!! Someone's slammed me to DJ before - we think an ex-bf - but he's been banned, and this didn't sound like him. That was pretty cold, too. I got called a "reprehensible whore" that time.

{{{{AS}}}} Mmmmm... What is that you're wearing? Might have to leave my nose here just a little longer. ;)

I wouldn't waste a good middle finger on this individual; I'd raise a pinky, because I don't care enough to send the very best.

LOL! You would be retired military! My, um, appreciation for men in uniform spawned a thread and is almost a running gag among my friends.

My new story is being HEAVILY trolled! I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out why they hate it so much. No comments, of course!

<Standing from my seat > "Hi, I'm Sheila, and I'm Literotica troll-bait.."

This is too funny! I just submitted a humorous piece where I mention the possibility of needing a support group or hotline for Lit writers...
Of course, it will take over a week to post right now, but hmmm.. I guess great minds think alike! LOL

It just posted: How to Spot a Literotica Author

Enjoy!

I don't think the idea of anonymous feedback is a good idea. If someone wants to comment they should have the balls to do it signed in under their posting name. Anonymity brings out the worst in people.

Anon.

Agreed.

Interesting...

I'd *love* for their literary works to be advertised, so we writers could pay them the same respect they pay us.

I have no doubt whatsoever about that. That is why trolls are in so big demand.

In demand? Ahhhh... could we be having a Troll auction soon? :)

Or maybe an 'adopt a troll' or Big Troll day? Let's take them all fishing!

:p
