Thanks. I did reply on that thread. It was wonderfully therapeutic.

The best way to deal with this is to try to imagine this guy as he wrote that, imagine how fucked up his life must be to try to get enjoyment form writting that. Is he really talking about his wife or girlfriend? Maybe his daughter or mother? Did he ejaculate on his keyboard with his final exclamation mark?
That always helps me.
Also, some of what I consider to be the most positive feedback, without specifics of course, is "read your story, wanna cybersex?"

You did! I remember! You were so articulately outraged, and then you had procedural correctives to suggest.impressive said:Once upon a time, I cared about these things.
Diamond_Girl said:Alright, I know as a writer who's gotten her share of both positive and negative feedback, as well as one who's been trolled, that I'm supposed to let the trolls' comments just roll off my back, and generally I'm pretty good about it. But GEEZ!!! OK, fine if someone thinks my writing is drivel or my words are trite. Whoopedy-doo if someone finds my sex unoriginally boring or outlandishly offensive. That's someone simply expressing their opinion about my writing in the (usually) anonymous troll-like way. However... I received feedback on my latest submission that was just mean and personal!
This is from another Litster - probably a Playgrounder - who's read mine and DJ's thread (he wrote a short involving beads). OK, the snide comments about me bug me, but the comment about DJ really burns me up!!! (And I know he'll be just the opposite.) It's personal AND chickenshit, because this individual doesn't have the balls to address it by name or publicly.
OK. I'm done with my rant.

I especially hate the one-bombs with no comment.

What if you aren't a troll but just want to support their often-misunderstood work?AsylumSeeker said:Trolls to the right... don't mind the brief screams of ecstasy, it's what you deserve after all!

champagne1982 said:I thought you were grousing about troll votes, I've read two comments that were from authors who were thrown off and confused by 4's? Why is it so hard to accept that the people voting a 4 or 75% thermo-rating liked your story but didn't find it perfect? A 'B' grade where I come from is still enough to get you on the Honour Roll.
CeriseNoire said:I think they were maybe wishing the reader said what it was that made it imperfect. Just like in school I hated getting a B with no comments on the paper.
AsylumSeeker said:You have a right to be pissed! I'd be as well. I've been dive-bombed at numerous times but have never been subjected to such vile comments by my recollection. As writers we just want to express ourselves and put ideas out there, hoping that others might find the stories enjoyable. It does nobody any good to slam us. It's not as if we're being rewarded in any shape or fashion.
Big huggsss! <Hmm, you smell good>
And a middle finger to the person responsible! Shame on you!
LadynStFreknBed said:This is too funny! I just submitted a humorous piece where I mention the possibility of needing a support group or hotline for Lit writers...
Of course, it will take over a week to post right now, but hmmm.. I guess great minds think alike! LOL
Eluard said:I don't think the idea of anonymous feedback is a good idea. If someone wants to comment they should have the balls to do it signed in under their posting name. Anonymity brings out the worst in people.
Anon.

I have no doubt whatsoever about that. That is why trolls are in so big demand.AsylumSeeker said:I'd *love* for their literary works to be advertised, so we writers could pay them the same respect they pay us.
