Call for Ray Bradbury to be honoured with internet error message

A new status code to reflect internet censorship could be named after Ray Bradbury's most famous novel, Fahrenheit 451

What would Ray say?

It's not clear whether Bradbury would have welcomed a proposal to honour his memory in an internet error code. He said in an interview in 2009 that "the internet is a big distraction". "They wanted to put a book of mine on Yahoo! You know what I told them? 'To hell with you. To hell with you and to hell with the internet.' It's distracting," he told the New York Times. "It's meaningless; it's not real. It's in the air somewhere."

It even fits the pattern of http errors in general. I like it. Microsoft is using it privately at the moment for something else but I bet they will relinquish it.

Strictly speaking we have 403 for this, but I like the more specific nature of 451. It's a nice way for a site to say to China "We're sorry, we're not allowed to." as opposed to 403's You May Not.

(No, not staying here, but this is such a cool idea I wanted to upvote.)

A timeless tribute to a timeless writer. And a required read, especially Fahrenheit 451, even nowadays where the internet is the biggest black hole we know off that sucks in, devours and then flings out high energy information so fast you need a time machine to make sense of any of it.
Perhaps Mr Bradbury would have balked at the idea of having his book title used for a well meant attempt at even bigger immortality.
The irony would probably have made him smile in secret and perhaps even more so that an aspect of paper will rule the net as the net slowly tries to make it obsolete. (sadly)

Nice catch Jack!
