Yes I know it is supposed to be Trekkies, but I thought those of you who enjoy Star Trek might enjoy this spoof of Star Trek and Trekkies next Sunday (Sept. 16th) on the SciFi channel. It is called "Trekkers" and is one of the "Exposure" series they features (often amateur movies). The excerpts from the trailer looked funny.

I heard that trekkies were fans of the original series while trekkers were more into the newer incarnations of the idea.

By the way, anyone seen that movie "Trekkies" hosted by Denise Crosby, that gal who played Tasha Yar? It was hilarious......

A large part of the Star Trek fan base calls themselves 'Trekkers' not Trekkies. And yes, the term Trekker didn't take off until ST:TNG so I'm guessing more of the older Trek fans call themselves Trekkies Funboy.

Whatever the terminology and however it is applied, I think those that enjoy the series/movies, new or old, will enjoy this show next Sunday.
