TRADITION! (or: Why change? We've always done it that way.)

In due fairness, outdoor plumbing is a tradition of the Brits and as such it should be upheld, observed and allowed for a regulated season just like outhouses in the US. Allowed to persist as such, nobody is out of a job, just a few of those new-fangled plumbers curtailed, and the wealthy and influential, who still wish to take in the fresh country air while relieving themselves can still blow their farts away from the ears of those who stay demurely indoors. I think it's a travesty to suggest putting all the little people out of work by adopting this ceramic-fixture and plumbing monstrosity being perpetrated on the public by money-hungry consortiums. What about the family of the men who earn their livings by digging outhouses? What about the clever carpenters who arrange those delightful moon-sliver symbols on the doors? Who will look out for their interests if we adopt indoor "Crappers"? This assualt on tradition has gone on long enough. You may bring that stench into your middle-class shacks if you so desire, but the upper-classes have the refinement and vision to separate that nasty business from what goes on beneath their roof(s).
