I use A 'Hitachi' Wand Plug-in vibrator + many dildos go to my site www.thepinkmonkeyparlor.com lOOk if you like something you see Msg me as long as you 'promise' to think of me when you try it I will send you your first 'TOY'

One thing from a guy who has toys (so I obviously can't comment on the efficacy of toys), you can get info on the interwebs about toys, not so much for trusting the efficacy, but for making sure they're safe or easy to clean. If you're in the Bay Area, look up Good Vibes as a good place to get toys. idk if this is helpful, but I thought I'd give what little I know about the subject.

I'm an Hitachi Magic Wand kind of girl...

And a rabbit kind of girl...

And sometimes an anal bead kind of girl...

Until recently, toys were a "meh" type of thing. I only used them when it amused him to watch, but then he told me to get a Hitachi Magic Wand after reading some reviews.

I may have to replace it soon (with another Hitachi). It's gotten years-worth of use in just a month or so that I've owned it. It's world-rocking. No batteries to worry about, and dear Holy (insert your deity or lack of here), I've set new personal records for quantity and speed, all without sacrificing quality.

I'm a guy as well, but a good female friend of mine absolutely swears by the Rampant Rabbit Elite. On the other hand, the £40 price tag may be a bit much...

I've had a couple of perfectly good rabbits that cost $20 including shipping. Next time, I might get a pthalate-free one, but it goes to show you don't have to spend much for great toys that last forever.

I'll throw my vote in for the Hitachi w/ the vinyl attachments. You can get one for under $50 from a variety of innocuous sites and pass it off as a muscle massager to any nosy family members (it actually is pretty good for necks, feet, etc.).

You do know that sex toys are always shipped in plain packaging from companies with plain names, right? So, unless your family is into opening your packages, you could easily get toys online without them knowing what you're receiving.

i like the idea of the rabits but im looking at these there like rabits
10 Function Flexor Stimulator Dolphin
Evolved Symphony Dolphin Sonata
Fantasy Jack Rabbit
Glitz G-Spot Waterproof - Multi Speed
Pearl Panther Rabbit Vibrator
Femme Fatale Flexible Butterfly

I just looked at a couple since you didn't provide any links, and I'd suggest staying away from anything that takes AAA batteries. You really need a minimum of 3 AA or 3 C batteries to power most rabbits properly, unless they're really wimpy in the first place (be forewarned that many toys are). You may also want to consider investing in some rechargeable batteries, since multifunction toys and vibes in general can eat them up pretty quickly.

Also, if you're going to spend $25 on a rabbit-type toy, look for one that's pthalate-free because many people find pthalates to be irritating and they may pose health risks. You can--and probably should--use a condom with any toy that's made of a very porous material like jelly/jelly rubber or cyberskin-type stuff, but if you're unwilling to do that and jelly is all you can afford, at least get a higher quality jelly.

I've got no idea which rabbit I own - but it does have a rabbit with ears and not a little elephant or anything like that.

Knowing me, it came from either Adam and Eve or Libida. Or maybe Amazon, since they tend to have good prices and a nice variety of stuff. Who knew a bookstore would have such nice toys. That's where my Hitachi came from as well.

Libida tends to have better quality stuff. Good Vibrations is worth a look, too.

And I agree with SweetErika. Avoid the phtalates. I try, now, to buy mostly silicone toys, but they are usually pretty pricey.

And I do like the glass wand I bought once - it's different - for when I want something very hard to squeeze down on.

Millie, fingering herself and trying to stay on the edge for a while...

Adam & Eve will let you return toys for 90 days if you simply don't like them. AFAIK, they're one of the only retailers that has such an amazing return policy - most won't take them back at all or will only take returns on completely defective items. Just make it clear that you do NOT want to be on any of their mailing lists (some people here have mentioned having problems with that, though I suspect they didn't opt out at the time of purchase).

Libida and GV are quite expensive, much like Babeland. If you buy through Amazon, make sure you watch the shipping costs if you don't get the item(s) through Amazon directly or they don't qualify for free shipping; a lot of the partner retailers show cheap prices, but really get people on shipping and handling costs.

I agree, the ears make the rabbit!

Doc Johnson 14 speed waterproof "Lucid Dream" g-spot vibrator....got it at Amazon.com for $10....I like it a LOT more than the $45 dollar Jack Rabbit....

I have purchased a great deal of sex toys both online and in the store. Women are different in what they like to play with and what works I know that comment makes it harder, but if you are looking for a site with ratings please have a look at this.

http://www.edenfantasys.com/

You don't have to purchase from there as I know a great deal of thier stuff is not cheap, but I do enjoy reading the reviews posted by users. My wife and I have made a post or two there as well. I wish you great luck on your new toy purchase.

love love love my hitachi wand. and just like Velvet Sin, I actually burned my first one out (literally) and had to get another ... amazon .... love it since the box is not big deal and they are actually markets as massagers.

also love my super strong egg ... but i don't remember where i got that one.

If you comparison shop.....you can find most anything you want on Amazon.com and it is usually cheaper than from an adult toy website.
I made one purchase from a toy website....everything else from amazon.com.

There is always getting your own post office box or a postal box at a satellite box store that can accept other package carriers in addition to postal packages, that way no one but you can get into your mail.

You don't sound stupid at all! It's a lot of info to take in, for sure!

If you look around, you'll see that there are different levels of toys and retailers. Expensive toys aren't necessarily good toys; they often just have a bigger markup or a premium price tag. There are cheap toys that are great and will last a long time, and expensive ones that suck and will crap out on you in less than a year. If you're buying something like a glass dildo, a $30 one may be just as good as a $150 one. Why pay more when you don't have to, or could get a variety of toys for the same amount of money?

The same goes for retailers. Places like Babeland, Libida and GV are "premium" retailers and they charge premium prices. A Hitachi Magic Wand with attachments that can be had for around $50 elsewhere might cost you well over $100 at one of the premium stores/sites, and it's not like they provide a satisfaction guarantee or anything else that justifies the cost difference. They're just making more off of the same items.

I think Adam & Eve is a great place for a toy newbie especially and/or more expensive toys because they do have a satisfaction guarantee and the prices there are fairly reasonable. They're not the lowest prices around, but they're not the highest, either. That $5 or $10 over the lowest price you can find might be worth it for the ability to return the toys with no hassle if you don't enjoy it or it breaks within the first couple of months.

In terms of materials, your best bet is going to be pure silicone (i.e. NOT a mixture of silicone and something else; be sure to ask the retailer if the toy is 100% silicone because things only have to contain 10% of something to be labeled as such [like 10% juice and 90% colored sugar water being called "fruit juice" ]), some vinyl (like the attachments for the hitachi magic wand, which can be sterilized and don't have a toxic odor or anything), glass/pyrex and stainless steel. Hard plastic might be fine, too, but there aren't a lot of good toys made of it. Avoid jelly, rubber/latex and cyberskin-type stuff OR be prepared to slip a condom on toys made of those things.
