G'day all, been away a long time, was wondering how many people here have been touched by cancer??? either have it or have someone close that has it/had it??
I personally am a survivor, which was the reason for my long time depature from here!
I would be really interested in what type of cancer also....

so For me

40 year old male stage 4 Kidney cancer ---- 5 year survivor rate of 35%

Wow, glad you are able to come back, am so sorry to hear about your situation. My dear sister is fighting breast cancer. It has gone into her liver and lungs. She was diagnosed about 7 years ago. Seeing what she goes through gives me strength.
Please know that statistics aren't always reliable. I pray that you do well and that you are able to live your life to the fullest..

I'm certainly glad to see you back here, then. I've lost several family members to different kinds of cancer, and have others who are survivors of cancer. Breast, lung, ovarian. Many of the women in my family have some form. I'll be thinking about you as you deal with this. And as Inna said, sometimes stats aren't accurate. Positive thoughts, no matter how hard, can make a huge difference. :rose:

I was just thinking about you last weekend! Yippy yahoo to see you Juss... fantastic. Wow - just fantastic.

I've lost family and friends to cancer. I'm thrilled you're doing well. :rose:

I lost my lovely wife to breast cancer. It had disappeared for a couple of years then reappeared suddenly. I miss her alot but I feel worse for my two children one which is a gorl and by the lineage it looks as if she could develope it too. I worry about that all of the time.

Sadly I lost my husband to a rare and very vicious form of lung cancer in 2004, various forms of cancer run in his family and affects mainly the males, they usually live to around 60 before developing it, he was 45.
My husband's started with a pain under his arm, no other symptoms at all, he was a very healthy and normal man, cycling several miles a day. In nine months he was dead.
I still miss him terribly and have tried to ensure that my children fully understand this disease, most especially my son.

And while I'm here on the subject, when was the last time you donated a £1/$1 to Cancer Reasearch ? I'm pretty sure you must have at least one you don't need, so please go and stick it in the next box you see :rose:

Very sorry to hear about your hubby Wanton... I actually donate my first pay check every month to the Cancer Association here and will continue to do so till the day I no longer work, also spend a lot of time in my local hospitals Cancer ward.... good on you for your donation suggestions, maybe if more people put their hand in their pockets we may be able to beat this beast!!!!!
Lance Armstrong was my inspiration, prior to hearing his survival story I wasn't a fan of the man but now! holy cow batman what a guy!!!!
