Total disregard for human life

Forgiveness for an accident yes, but what those girls did was cowardly and selfish. Sorry to hear about your loss, I hope the girls are punished somehow, I just feel that their conscience won't be enough.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your friend. That is just terrible. The worst part of it is that if they hadn't been so cowardly, and had called 911 immediately, the passenger may have lived.

What a horrible tragedy. My condolences on your loss.

I'm very sorry about your friend...here's a story from a textbook called "Thinking critically about ethical issues" by Vincent Ruggiero:
In November 1981, a Milpitas, CA boy raped and killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in a lovers lane gully. Over the next few days, the killer boasted to his high school friends and the word spread that the girl was dead and that her body was in the gully. Carload after carload of students visited the gully to see the body. Some students prodded it with sticks or kicked it; one girl ripped a decal from the dead girls jeans. Only one boy reported the murder to the high school principal, and even after the police investigation was under way, only two students would identify the killer or volunteer any information.Since failure to report a body or to volunteer to testify is not a crime, the students could not be charged legally.

That sounds a lot like involuntary manslaughter to me.

Charges must be filed, or justice will not be served.

I am horribly and deeply sorry for your and your community's loss with this reckless and sick act of gross neglegence.

Oh my lord have mercy...

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((PLS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

:rose: :rose: :rose: for your departed friend.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
The title of this thread is very accurate.
"Total disregard for human life."
What those girls did was beyond appalling.
How could they not help? And one went to sleep as if nothing had happened? It is horrific.

So many kids are going off the rails, they seem to lack responsibility, a conscience, understanding and compassion for others. They are selfish and demanding. It sickens me.

Some parents don't know where their kids are half the time or what they are up to. Are we allowing them too much freedom and they are growing up too fast; experiencing drugs, alcohol etc and their immature brains don't have common sense or the life skills they need because their parents aren't their guiding them, disciplining them, (providing rules/boundaries etc) setting them a good moral example?

I see more and more children who are raising themselves, watching porn and horror movies from a young age.
They brag about what they see and act out violently with little or no respect for their parents/community/selves or peers.

Our children are our future. How can we not be their to guide them, love them, care for them and give them what they need?

Some kids do go off the rails even when their parents are doing the best they can but teenage crime is escalating.

Something has to change.

:rose: R.I.P for pretty_lil_stranger's friend and blessings upon his poor family and friends.
This should never have happened.

The girls are still juveniles. The law implies that juveniles aren't expected to be liable or responsible for their actions.

Justice may be served if they are tried and convicted as adults. If not, they will walk away with clean records once they turn 18.

p_l_s, i had not heard this part of the story. How awful. You have my sympathy, although that seems woefully inadequate after reading your post.

What those girls did is totally disgusting and reprehensible. Hopefully they will be held accountable for their actions and punished accordingly. And hopefully seeing them brought to justice will help you find peace.

My only question is what were two adult males doing out with two 17 year old juvenile females with bad reputations?

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

That is terrible about the girls. Atleast they could have tried and get help! That is sad that they didn't. Shame on them!

A friend of ours was killed in a car accident on Sunday. There were two guys (26 and 31) in the car, and two 17-year-old girls. When the accident happened, the girls high tailed it out of there (one of them with a broken nose and arm). They hitchhiked back to town, and one of them even went so far as to say good-night to her parents and go to bed.
Turns out they left the passenger of the vehicle to die. Didn't even call 911 when they got to town. I guess they were afraid of getting into trouble.
When they left, the driver was unconscious. When he woke up, he found the male passenger (he had been thrown from the car), but he couldn't find the girls. The passenger died in his arms.
I am just beside myself trying to figure out how these girls could have so little regard for human life. As a parent I think...can you imagine having raised daughters who are capable of such things?
These girls do not have good reputations AT ALL, but this...this is behind anything I could fathom someone capable of.
I know forgiveness is key to getting past tragedy, but I just can't imagine how that is going to be possible here. I saw them at the funeral today. Someone asked one of them how she was doing and I wanted to scream. Who the fuck cares how she is doing? Think about what she DID for crying out loud!?!

I have to admit, that is pretty fucked up. When I studied moral levels, that type of action was like the first level. LOL... >_<

wow that is awful hun :(
yeah it is really hard sometimes when you see how low and pathedic some people are and the pure lack of caring for one another is horrible, which can really make you wonder about people.

{{{{PLS}}}}} :rose:
sorry for your loss again hun

Honestly, it was the first thing I said when I found about the girls, too.

that's unfortunate. Again, you have my sympathies for having to deal with all of this.

Wow... my jaw dropped when I read this, and I am so sorry for your loss.

I cannot comprehend how someone can just leave someone else to die. It was selfish and very stupid of them.

They will have to live with this on their conscience for the rest of their lives. I hope they have one.

Again PLS, you have my deepest condolences.
