Topics for weekly discussions

Nope.

Someone probably should.

*nudge* That somebody is you, remember? ;)

Oh, and since I haven't contributed and I've been a post whore today.. I think it's not a bad idea, the thread thingy. So yeah. Go for it.

However, I categorically refuse to be given any responsibility for choosing the week's thread.. I'm far too lazy for that.

Why not? There is always pony play. Well, on second thought, I might not like your rules. ;)

And there is your whole toy family of questions. Favorite toys, essentials for your toy bag, Toys for the budget minded couple.
Other sub (no pun intended) topics for concideration related to 'toys' might include:

  • Homemade Toys 101 - Examples/Instructions
  • Thrifty Toys - Dollar Store/Walmart Finds
  • Creative ideas for camoflaging that huge hook screwed into the ceiling above the bed? (It's such an ODD place to hang a plant.)

Are you stalking me?

Because that would be super. :D

And you know, pony play always kinda freaked me out. *laughs*

Following a conversation in another thread I think an important topic could be

mental health and BDSM

and all the issues that surround it

I'm sure the issue could could be divided into lots of interesting subtopics but I'm far too knackered to think of them right now :)

I'm not sure about the "sub-topics" thing yet. How about we just stick to the topic in general, and whoever kicks off the thread can list the topic and the various sub-topics as a conversation starter.

If we find the threads get too large, we can always pick a particular sub-topic. I guess that will be at the discretion of the thread starter.

Oh... one rule. To play pass the parcel, you have to have someone to pass the parcel to. So let's say that the next thread starter needs to be someone who contributed to the last thread. And if no one contributes, it can go to a moderator.

Make sense?

Yeah, maybe give them a heads up first to see if they are interested. And if anyone has a burning desire to pick the next, they can volunteer.

More guy sub stuff? I do realize there's only a few of us, but are there fundamental differences between male and female subs aside from the obvious plumbing ones? Do you, as a PYL, see a difference in mindsets? For example, I've noticed that generally, a male sub is more likely to enjoy humilition play. Not that I am, cause I'm not really, but in general, there are a lot more male "lowly worms" than female ones.

Not only do they have different mindsets, but they get treated differently. Good topic.

I don't mind humiliation, but to a pretty mild degree, probably no more than what most female subs get.

The idea is to suggest topics not to discuss them here; the youth simply do not know how to read, horrible.

Glad you stepped forward to take care of that, WD - as more than one person has told me, she or he who suggests something takes responsibility for it. :p :D ;) :)

Just a suggestion.

If I create a thread apart from this one, where all the suggestions are listed, will everyone agree not to discuss the topics in that thread and instead, refer to it for a) addition of new topic ideas and b) list of those individuals who will begin and host the next thread topic?

If we can all agree to that, i have no problem creating and maintaining that thread.

What does everyone think?

Actually I think that the whole idea is being regulated & organised beyond it's advantages. The original problem of newbies asking questions about topics already discussed at length will remain, only now there will be a collective groan & increased links to past threads & the library if that particular topic was the one discussed LAST week.

We come here to talk about something which is on our minds NOW & we usually want to discuss it NOW, not to wait till next week because that's the set topic next week or to be told that that was last week & we've missed out.

I know that it is an extreme example, but it is a valid point I think.

It's not a fix or cure for the board. It is just an experiment.

I was going to modify the first post in this thread to include the list of topics. That way we don't have to maintain multiple threads.

I agree with WD -- this isn't proposed as a cure all, and may in turn generate other issues. But we like to experiment, and let's see how it goes.

There's no regulation here either: if you want to discuss something NOW, not wait until it comes up on the topics... then go ahead and create a thread! I think the idea is to supplement the threads we already create with an organised discussion. Give people some idea of what we will be talking about, so they can prepare if they wish. But if you're impatient to discuss a topic, by all means, go right ahead!

My comment was a general observation in the light of Fungi's pass the parcel rule suggestion, then Lara's offer, not a criticism or complaint. The idea holds no attraction for me, but may suit others very well, I s'pose we'll see soon enough.
