Hi,
I was wondering how does one go about getting there stories posted on the Tops List? Is there a certain criteria that a story must meet?

I am new to this forum, and still not quite sure about the protocal. I am slowly moving into the stream of this discussion board and will tackle the chat soon as well.

I am slowly getting some feedback on my stories. I only wish I would have held off, sending some of the stories out before, getting some very good constructive criticism from an anonymous feedback. I am slowly learning the process, and I appreciate any advice or help I can get. I have many more stories that I have written, that now thanks to some feedback will be looked over more than once or twice. With grammer as well as puncuation adhered to.

Top lists

Stories automatically enter the top lists when they have 10 votes or more. The total votes cast is divided by the number of voters to give you an average. This average determins where on the top list your story enters. Further votes can affect your average which is why you will hear a lot about a small group of people who deliberately go around attacking the stories at the top of the various lists with 1 votes.

And more importantly..........

Don't let the "vote" thing become the whole reason for writing either.

We've ALL been there....(trust me on this one) with the "1" vote attacks.

If you've got a good story....it WILL stand out, and no matter if its in the top list for a day or two days before it "crashes"....and it will, hang in there, and then let the "real" story readers take it back to where it honestly belongs.

Sometimes it just takes a while....so don't get hung up on being in the top 100 posted stories.

If its good enough to be there....it will be!

I have already resolved myself to the fact, that I will continue to write. Not because of any polls, or because anyone, may or maynot like my stories. But because I do so enjoy writing them.

I also, have figured out, that although, my writing, may not be as well written as I have seen some on here, in time, this is my goal. I am learning from the very informative posts here on this board, as well as having the opportunity to converse, so to speak with such great authors in my opinion, about what I love most... writing stories! Indeed, I feel in awe of such wonderful story tellers/writers.

I am just so overwhelmed with joy, for the opportunity to share what I write with the public, in such a well rounded forum. I feel this forum, with its many different aspects, gives the writer of such an art, the dignity, they deserve.
I feel all too often, when people ask "What kind of stories do you write?" When given the answer, most people look at you in a strange manner. You know what is going through their pretty little minds..
"Well you must be sick" comes to mind.

I am by for, not sick, nor do I feel that I have, perversions, hangups, deviations, or other inaccurate words used to describe such as people as myself. People who enjoy, telling a story. People who enjoy, that others enjoy their stories as much as themselves. Putting their fantasies down on paper, and bringing it alive. Leaving this mundane reality of ours at times, to venture into another place and time. To visit, into anothers thoughts and dreams.

And if those thoughts and dreams are of a sexual nature or not, so what? Its our right to be able to share it if we like. Good or bad, its still our perrogative.
