Saw it last night with a bunch of friends and mate, it was a good time! Ludicrous, enjoyable, big screen drama. Don’t worry about the boring, how realistic is it details lol. The nostalgia. The anthem. The bikes and the F18’s and experimental hypersonic aircraft and Mach 10 and the sweaty bodies and the smiling in the light of the sunset with the Aviator Ray Bans. Very Top Gun.

Coolness factor: 9/10

Was it pulling all those g’s that make Tom’s face get all fucked up?

( pulling g’s should be a gayjoke)

Haha he’s getting on! Seriously though, he looks great for his age. I was a baby when Top Gun came out and he still looks good. Shirt off and all.

Man has some serious skills

Gonna go see it this weekend! The offspring are opting for the Bob’s Burgers flick instead.

Curious. Why see it at all if you aren’t a fan?
I’m Ret.Navy and like navy/military themed shows and movies even tho they aren’t realistic. I like planes and I’ve heard that the flying filmed was more realistic.

Oh right. Yes, this movie would more than likely frustrate our naval aviator brothers and sisters. The flying scenes are awesome. Without giving too much away. Best I’ve seen in a movie. Probably ever.

I'm excited to see it!

Back in high school in the '80s, I took a French foreign exchange student to see Top Gun. I wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and Reebok hightops, she had big hair, wore an acid washed denim mini-skirt and my leather jacket.

After the movie she said, "It was, how you say? Brilliance!"

The good old days lol. The nostalgia is going to get you 100%. It’s a good movie you’ll enjoy it

Somehow they managed just the right balance of cheese and adrenaline. The best movie in that genre I seen an a long while. Five stars.

Get to see both this weekend! Saw Top Gun last night and Bob’s Burgers this afternoon.

I loved Top Gun. Good to see Maverick and Iceman again. And OMG, Goose’s son and the Admiral’s daughter. Lots a bit of nostalgia. And Ed Harris and Jon Hamm to boot. This thing is totally loaded.

From Variety

Agent Ethan Hunt banks on himself. Tom Cruise is taking a lower fee upfront for starring in the next two “Mission: Impossible” films, which sources say leads to a meager paycheck in the $12 million to $14 million range, but he commands a significant percentage of the movies’ first-dollar gross. That means that Cruise gets box office bonuses before the studio even breaks even. In the case of “Top Gun: Maverick,” still flying high at nearly $1.2 billion at the global box office, sources estimate that Cruise will net $100 million or more from ticket sales, his salary and his eventual cut of home entertainment rentals and streaming revenue.

I saw it and was expecting it to be awful... I mean, a 60 year old fighter pilot???

But it was very good. Pure entertainment and worth the price of admission.
