3. Because they all say they like newbies right before they punch one in the face.;)

That is soooooo untrue. Many Non-Newbies will punch you right in the face without trying to get you to drop your guard first. That kind of softening-up tactic is really more for those who are less sure of themselves. And besides, sometimes it's AFTER they punch you that they decide they like you! :D

To GAY

edited 'cause this was supposed to be on the Toast thread, and now it looks cause I can't spell the word too.

I'm a whale penis.

Harbinger, thanks for clearing that up! :)kiss:ing your ass :kiss:ing your ass - hoping you will like me and help me to be popular  )

How about this?

28. They punch you in the face, then swear they never did anything like that before, they're just having a bad day, they really really really DO like newbies. :D

I don't want to mislead you. Of all the people around here, I'm not the one to hire for popularity enhancement. I really don't post enough. Besides, I Never could tell ass-kissing from sarcasm, anyway. ;) But thanks, just the same.

Harbinger, old salt, perhaps I can be of assistance. The difference between ass-kissing and sarcasm is intent. Granting both are meant to deceive, the ass-kissing seeks to do so for the benefit of the kisser, whereas the sarcastic person seeks the belittlement of their ostensible target.

Oh wait. You were being sarcastic, right? Damn.

Hi, Lukky! Long time!

That wasn't belittlement. That was intended as false self-deprecation, which was meant to be ironic, but not injurious. I hope that made things clearer.

Oh sure, Harbinger, you know me - always confusing rhetoric with chastity.

42. Because because because, because of the wonderful things he does.

Hey, Ginny should have some opinion on this.... Whoops! I meant (pause) ;)

Because they had not the sense to give it up and go away when they were a "newbie"?
