Everyone this week seems very stressed out. My friends, both online and in RL have been weird, my family is acting strained, and I wonder if there's something that no one is telling me? Its starting to stress me out too!

No one has to tell me what my stress is about.

You're probably better off being blissfully unaware.:)

I don't know where you live , but I've noticed it as well. It's the constant sub zero winter bend over and take it like the bitch you are and here's somee snow in your face just for laughs.. Winter man. It's fun , but it's been months now..

If someone would tell me something, I might could not feel so paranoid.

Erm...duct tape and plastic sheeting?

Gee, I dunno, could it be the imminent threat of war and the possibility of another major terrorist attack in the near future? I'm surprised you hadn't heard...

That's what I was thinking it might be, everyone is on edge I think, me included I have 2 in the military and it's a little scary!

You guys are kidding, right? War? Maybe, but I don't personally notice stuff like that...are people really worked up about dropping 800 cruise missles on a 3rd world country with a 4th rate army?

Duct tape and plastic sheeting. Our brave homeland security director has advised us all to buy it to seal ourselves in our homes in the event of a chemical, biological or nuclear attack!

(Do you think he has stock in 3M?)

Look on the bright side, the more people whos seal themselves up, the less traffic on the interstates trying to escape. Another side benefit, it will seal the stench of rotting flesh inside the homes!:D

Hmmmm...you know what i think? If you allow fear of unlikely events to cause panic and disruption in your life; if you let a few thousand bad guys scare you into buying stupid duct tape; if you feel it is ok for teh government to keep us distracted from real issues with a politically expedient war; then, my friends, only then have the terrorists truly won.

I'm gonna go get some Chinese food and read a book instead...

No. I am worried about the fact that London is on high alert status, that there are tanks at Heathrow airport, that there are military jets doing flyovers, that I live about a mile from the 'so called terror mosque' that (ahem...allegedly:rolleyes: ) has recruited young men hell bent for jihad for training in camps, and the ricin lab about two miles in the other direction, and that my husband works in a tall building over one of the busiest undergraound stations in town. That's what I'm worried about.

Well, ok, maybe YOU should be worried...but what about me? I think my biggest concern is finding a place to eat tonight...and hoping there are some good comic books out today.

Well thanks, I appreciate your concern  good luck with that whole comic thing.

Damn, peachy, you're caught between the rock and a hard place! Wish there was something we could do.

cheers and thanks w&u and plasticman; it's not like I'm sitting home cowering in fear or anything - you gotta live life, y'know - but I would be lying if I said I didn't get a certain sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach every time more than one police car/fire truck goes screaming by. This is the way we live now. So I am going with an eat, drink and be merry approach to it all!

i know, I know...I'm a shallow insensitive jerk...the comic book thing didn't go as planned, but I'll bet you haven't been gassed yet, so it comes out even so far.

Seriously, I can see your point, but some of us really aren't directly affected, and probably wouldn't worry in any case (than means me, I'm lacking whatever gene controls worrying about personal safety)

I've noticed this too. Everyone at work is acting the same way.
