Why are some women's shoes cut so low that they expose half the toes? Is this supposed to look good? It seems that some very expensive shoes have this feature. I can't imagine that anyone has such tiny toes that they would not be exposed, so this has to be on purpose.

Does anyone have shoes like this? Am I the only one that does not think it looks good?

I don't like this phenomenon. It upsets me. If I want that part of my foot showing, I'll buy sandals, or open toed shoes.

This to me, looks trashy. I associate this phenomenon with red, spike heeled, patent leather shoes and that just, uh, isn't my bag, baby.

I agree, looks silly. I generally try and buy shoes that don't expose the toe cleavage.

ew ew ew ew ew ew ew!!! Toe cleavage gives me the willies!! Makes me think about white shoes with black pantyhose. *shudders*

Toes are sexy.
Yes, they can be. But they don't look happy all squished like that in those shoes. I saw a woman at the Globes wearing a $30,000 couture dress and a pair of black pumps that squished her toes. Why?

If my white skechers can't be worn with the outfit I'm planning on wearing. I won't wear it.

I will not suffer in a pair of heels.

I like wearing heals, and none of mine hurt. I've had a few uncomfortable pairs over the years, but they got ditched quickly.

I wear hiking boots, combat boots, or bare feet almost exclusively. I don't show toe cleavage. I did pay almost 200 bucks for my hiking boots, though, if that makes a difference.

Bitch ;)

Maybe it's something one has to get used to? I've never liked them.. so I avoid them at all costs.

I don't go for the five inch stilletos. I'm a complete klutz, so I go for stable heels. Chunky ones for pants suits, slightly curved for skirt suits and dresses. I have several heeled sandals, and all of them have stable heels; no twigs for me! My favorite pair of the moment is a pair of black leather sandals on a wood base from Vis a Vie. I can't find an image of them, but the Juspar pair on this page has the same wood, but my pair is the height of the Ora style, but with two straps that stretch from the front to the back. They are incredibly comfortable.

lol...never really thought of it before...but then again, I buy one pair of bargain heels and wear them out before I'll buy another pair. I'm just not very stylish at all...that, and I hate shopping.

Is it just me, or is it creepy as hell that a guy would be commenting on the types of womens shoes he buys, or prefers to wear.

Starfish is a achem....man sweetheart.

The coolest girls I've known in my life wore, and wear heels all the time and walk like they were born in them.

I like girls that wear heels that expose the toes.....the one trend I hate and hope is on the way out is all these square toed heels.....bahhhhhh

Toe clevage on bare feet is...ooh lala...:)
But...shoes are meant to cover...makes it somehow more sexy on a woman. low cut is fine, but keep the toes hidden...clevage too.

Edited to add...STARFISH is a beautiful woman killerswitch. honest!:D

Uhhh...yeah, somebody's confused and it isn't me.

Also, it's nice to know that all the women you know have conformed to the patriarchal societal ideal of what a women should wear on her feet since birth. They probably have calluses an inch thick.

You still think this, eh? For the whole three months you've been here? Starfish has been here for ages, and she's posted loads of pictures of herself, and has a web-site of her artwork and more images of herself. She's even off-line friends with several people here. Starfish is a beautiful Earth Goddess of a woman.
