Today, the most important part of your day will be...

I voted during early voting. I'm white, so I encountered no difficulties or barriers attempting to exercise my (non-enumerated) right to vote.

Wendy Davis might not win, but it felt good to vote against Greg Abbott-Hitler anyway.

Today, the most important thing is my six-monthly diabetic check up.

My blood pressure is always higher than it should be. When the doctor takes it, my blood pressure is very acceptable.

The diabetic nurse has a short uniform dress and black stockings. :)

I think it is deliberate. Raised blood pressure in elderly gentlemen means more frequent visits to the nurse, and keeps her in employment.

I just appreciate her ?professionalism. ;)

I approve of this post.

I voted! I got my new sticker.

:)

I voted for all of the Libertarian candidates, none of the uncontested Republicans and one Republican who is running against a woman dem I know personally who is a complete dingbat, and I don't mean as much in the ideological sense as much as I mean the person who asks you to help find the glasses that she has propped up on the top of her head. In no way, shape or form do I really want her in charge of anything.

:D

I also got to vote against holding teachers to Common Core test scores.

Fuck Common Core.

It sucks.

How could I forget this????????

After 7PM tonight I won't have to see or hear another political campaign ad for damn near two more years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so fast...

:D

Local TV and radio will still be running the spots for a couple of days because they were paid for but they sold more ad than they had available air time. It happens every election.

Tomorrow starts the 2016 election.

Back from the visit to the nurse. Short uniform dress? Yes. Black stockings? Yes. :D

She did other tests before taking my blood pressure, so it had calmed down a bit to 140/70.

Most of my indicators are OK or improving, but she gave me a shingles jab as well. Ouch!

My mother had shingles for years. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The most important part of my day, every day, all day, and every minute, consists of remembering that I once had the power to save people, and to leave others unrescued.

I remember how I gave up that power for the right to be a woman, the right I always fought for, however masked.
