Today is Veterans

Hey Starry ..somebody elected alot of Jackwagons and I know it was me...but their is to step back on the care and moneys for vets...the time is not to back step but move forward for our injured military personnel.

Oh OH I forgot...don't forget the Coasties and the Merchant Marines this day to.

We didn't forget them. Coasties even did a fly over for us for the ceremony this morning! :rose:

Glad you were able to attend a ceremony, Starry.........:rose:

We had one yesterday as well to dedicate a new memorial over at one of the colleges here. Then today the one here at the nearby VA.

I was invited to one at an Am Legion this afternoon but once I found it, there were no parking spaces open or places to park & no one around outside. Their door said they required Military ID to get in which I don't have since I am just troop support. :(

This came across my desk last week. They are starting a consentration in Florida
the next few months but this is still open to everyone. Happy Veterans Day all!!!

Veterans – Library of Congress Wants Your Story

The Library of Congress is asking if you know a veteran that you then pledge to record that veteran’s story and submit it to them for safekeeping.

The Veterans History Project is 10 years old. Whether you know a WWII veteran or a soldier just returned from Afghanistan, the Library of Congress wants you to help collect their stories. The interviews can be audio or video and can be conducted by family, friends, neighbors or another veteran. The idea is to get the story.

It can really be as simple as having a conversation, but the memories that are recorded are of priceless value to families to researchers and students and general public. Guidelines on how to participate, suggested questions and registration forms are all available on the Library of Congress web site. There’s also a “field kit” that can be downloaded.
