Today is the day to show respect to those served in the Military for there country...maybe find time to do something to make a soldier or sailor just a wee bit better even for a few minutes...they all add up..

I rarely run into or see an active military individual in my daily life. That being said...........the one little thing I always do (over 10 times) is when I'm flying, if I see a man/woman in uniform in coach, I give up my seat in business to them................and sit wherever they were sitting.....its NOT much, but they have always enjoyed the gesture......

Pausing to thank those that make MY country a much safer place to work and play.....THANK - YOU

It's called Armistice Day here with Remembrance Day on Sunday

My favourite piece of War Poetry is by Isaac Rosenberg

"None saw their spirit's shadow shake the grass
Nor stood aside for the unused life to pass
Out of the doomed nostrils and the doomed mouth,
When the swift iron burning bee
Drained the sweet honey of their youth."

Often times for me, when I say "thank you for your service/having served" The truth is simply that a military member will never be able to grasp the depths of my gratitude...but then again I will never be able to grasp the depths of sacrifice from a military member's service.

Freedom it's something to be cherished, appreciated and remembered. Thank you to all who are serving/have served!!!

I agree with you 100%.

Thank you to all the Vets out there.

I don't know how to express my gratitude to all that server their country on EITHER side...the devotion, dedication and pride in themselves and their country it extraordinary.

I thank those men and women AND their FAMILIES (never forget the families of the military) for their efforts in far off lands to help us and to help those countries that need it most.

Lest we forget there is a third war...Korean ...it may have 60 years since it's start...but has never ended,...only at a halt...having been on the DMZ we play a deadly cat and mouse game nightly there...

You're Quite Welcome! I spend a lot of time working with Chaplains and being Native American I tend to be on the side of Spirit. :rose:

I've only seen the mobil wall when it comes here. It too carries the spirits along with the names but there are always items left to remember the good times that balance out the sorrow it brings. May they never be forgotten! :rose:

You my love ...are the hardest working ladies I know that volunteers for the all the time ......as a Vet my hat is off to you for your work.:rose::kiss::heart:

In Flanders Fields

by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Hey Starry ..somebody elected alot of Jackwagons and I know it was me...but their is to step back on the care and moneys for vets...the time is not to back step but move forward for our injured military personnel.
