what are some of your fave memories of childhood? things you enjoyed doing?

when i think back on my childhood, i don't really remember a lot of things i did at school. i remember those unplanned things i did. the games without rules.

one of my best memories is starting a little club for some of the younger kids in my neighborhood. me and my best friend, we just started this kick ass club with snacks and everything. i'd love to be that motivated again!

Though I spent my school years between two countries, I started them in the U.S.

One of my earliest school memories is writing to my "penpal" in Chicago 30 years ago in kindergarten. I think I still have his letter to me somewhere around the house here.

I'd like to know what happened to him, and often wondered if he ever remembered writing to me too.

I also rememeber that during the school year, my first or second grade teacher died, and I remember going to the funeral.

Old Hotness

You know you're getting old when you begin to have fond memories of childhood! ;)

Come on! Being a kid sucked! You have no real way of earning money, you can't go anyplace on your own, people dress you funny, and they make you get up too early for school! I wouldn't trade places with a kid for anything.

That being said, I guess I feel bad that Saturday morning cartoons aren't as big a deal to kids now as when I was growing up.

I remember one summer every Saturday I would watch an Abbot and Costello movie on TV about midmorning, then walk down to the swimming pool in the sunshine. That's a good memory.

Everything else was crap!

my best memory of childhood was my first day of nusery school, there I was thinking I was gonna get to spend time with other kids but my mom aint that smart and dropped me off at a place that sold trees.....

My mom was a very strict single parent so going out to play and having friends wasn't a big option for us. Plus I went to an all girl catholic private school. The nuns were our teachers and they were mean to say the least.

I did however enjoy Saturday morning cartoons and Wonder Woman and all that.

Christmas time was always special for our family.

Travelling and seeing the world was really important to my mother so that became a major part of my childhoold that I enjoyed. Summer vacations we were always off travelling to a different place.

I taught pre-k very briefly years ago. I loved it.

Too funny...and there I was thinking you were going to say how you cried the first day 'cause you didn't want to separate from mom and this wonderful teacher made it all better.

In some ways it sucked, in other ways it was great!

As a kid I had no real responsibilities, no bills, no real worries, I was healthy and full of energy. I didn't feel the cold or the heat as bad as I do now - I just wanted to go outside, play and explore the world. For the most part I looked forward to going to school each day, seeing my friends and playing dodge ball.

Yeah I had to do what adults told me to do and in many ways that sucked. I think my childhood brought out a strong independent streak in me - a bit of rebellion too. But if I could go back and do it all over again, even if I would not retain what I knew now, as long as I got to start over again - I would elect to do that in a heartbeat. I am approaching 50, and while life is good, one part of me recognizes that in many ways it is all downhill from here.

I would have to saying painting. Our teacher would take us all outside and I recall my school being near a lake of some sort , so we would be out there trying to paint. I had so much fun.

reading, being read to, dressing up in costumes and playing

see I was always in to stories and role play, well before Literotica LOL

Snack-time (Ritz crackers and grape-juice)! Didn't like nap-time.
Once brought a box of raisins in and gave everyone a raisin...didn't have many left.

well..i'm off to teach.

we're going to start our journals..paint..read brown bear, brown bear...eat a snack..play outside...get to know each other.

it's going to be a fun day(mantra)

Being a kid again...

cartoons and action figures...Thundercats,Transformers, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man...

Watching MTV with my older sisters...knowing all the words to "Fight for your right" by the Beastie Boys by the time i was like 6...and not knowing what a "Porno Mag" was..hahaha..

Gym class at school..tunnel tag, bombardment, dodge ball...

Little League baseball

Hanging out with my friends ALL day...from 10 in the morning to 8 at night.

I miss being little...***** was so much easier then...

Good luck with your new crew Amelia.

Amelia has a crew?

First Jim Rome, now Amelia... Damnit I want a crew of my own!

Anyway.. Favorite memory.. I remember making iced tea stands in front of my grandma's house every summer I visited there. Thing was I didn't just sell Iced Tea. For an extra nickel you could get a Thundercats tatoo as well (ok it was just a rubber stamp) and an extra dime got you the tatoo and these chocolate chip cookies my grandma made for the occasion.

Personally I think we were getting shafted on the cookie deal.. but it was a way to bring in customers.

I don't have many favorite memories. I've been in pain for a long, long time, even as a kid.

I remember swimming with my father. I also remember loving everybody. That was nice.

I remember lying on the floor at nap time and looking up the teacher's skirt.

Amelia sweets,
I hope you have an awesome day! One question keeps coming to mind though...is there a Little Johnny in your class??

Damn bullies. I know exactly where you got your snacks.

I'd have the teacher zip me up after I went to the restroom.I could work the snap fine, but not the zipper.

Then halfway through she started refusing. Looks like she got in trouble.

The 1 thing I liked about preschool, was, I was too young to realize what effect this disability would have on me. Innocence is bliss.
