Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

Meanwhile outside.... (Rose)

Thick and black the smoke curled from the top of the building, loud sounds made their way faintly to her ears, the white haired woman smiled. Perched on the softly purring motorcycle she watched and waited...yes! There! Merciless oceanic blues tracked the flight from the window, obviously unconscious body in tow. The destruction of the Titans had begun, now she had to see to her part in eliminating any further attempts to lead the team. If they fragmented then they could be taken down easily, it was that cohesive teamwork that made them a thorn in her Fathers side.

A tap to the communicator installed in the bike. Static filled her ear a moment before a cold voice answered her with a single word.

"Yes?"

"It's time. Files say the one called Arsenal is the second most likely to assume a leadership role. The others are too new for intel or unsuited to lead. You know what to do."

"....and it will be my pleasure."

Rose flicked the switch terminating the call, she didn't care for the Asian assassin, but couldn't argue the methods or results. Good help was so hard to find these days. Let father have his plaything with the boy wonder. Rose had far larger schemes. She would tumbled the entire organization and end their meddling once and for all...a pause...

"Dear lord, we really do monologue like Scooby Doo villians."

She shook her helmeted head and jumped the bike to life, turning it around and speeding down the street away from the building. No need to be seen there now, there were such plans on the horizon.

"Sister, I am alright.. Please let me go...," Star muttered out, trying to push Blackfire's grip free of her. "I have not seen Robin.. I need to find him, please... You asked if I still had a joyous thought- It has changed. It is now Robin- Please, let me go to find him." She glanced over her sibling's shoulder to see the tower, a soft cry coming form her. "Again our home is in shambles.... Can we not have a moment's peace?"

“Hey!” yelled Cyborg as Roy shot at him, then smiled as Bladesman sliced it in two. “Thanks,” he said, then nodded, turning to Malchior, who had just batted away the arrows sent at him like nats.

“Nice try. My turn,” Malchior said, then growled as Arsenal suddenly grabbed on to a flying woman’s legs. “Don’t run away from me!” He smiled, then powering up his hands to glow brightly, he sent out a massive energy blast at the group of people in the air, sending them all crashing through the wall and into the next room. Flying over, Mal grabbed Roy by the shoulder and kneed him in the gut hard, then brought his fist up to hit him hard in the jaw. Suddenly, he felt something coming at him and just barely dodged a blast from Cyborg. Then, keeping Roy grasped in one arm, Mal flew over and Cyborg’s shoulder, and zoomed out of the Tower at incredible speed. He darted into the sky, increasing in altitude until he came to a stop, dangling Arsenal and Cyborg several thousand feet above Vector City.

“What to do now, huh? HAHAHA! Attack me, and you drop to your deaths!” Mal said with a laugh. Suddenly, Cyborg turned and fired his cannon at the dragonman’s face, and he quickly let go of them, holding onto his head. Cyborg activated his foot rockets, then went into a nosedive, trying to catch Arsenal before he crashed into the streets below. Finally grabbing him securely, Cyborg slowed down and set him on the ground, then turned and shot back into the sky like a bullet, headed right for Malchior, who was slightly blinded from the point range blast.

Best not to tell her. She needs that thought to keep her aloft.

"Very well sister." was all she got out before the blast hit them. She knew Star could handle herself. Superboy she was unsure of. And Roy had been torn free of her by the blast. Her head was clearing with the adrenaline and pain of being hit from behind. Coward. Seeing the free for all for Roy and that for the second he seemed safe she corrected her flight course and managed to catch Superboy just in time that only his boots took a soaking.

She kept low to the water until she reached the shore and set Superboy down clear of the combat. Then she began her launch upward when she realized that she hurt a lot.

Channeling all of her pain and rage at being assaulted from behind she rocketed upwards. She felt her righteous fury growing. Her eyes glowing red and starbolts were forming in each hand. Then as if she had a fuel leak she began slowing and her bolts started to fizzle. She changed course from straight up. Losing altitude she realized that she wasn't seeing quite straight either. The blast and the wall had done much more damage than she'd realized. She'd curled to take the brunt of being blown through the wall.

Her feet touched ground and she collapsed.

Meanwhile outside of the building hovering along on a slab of rock, Terra noted the distruction of the Titan Tower underway. "Hmmm?" she pondered to herself how to keep that place from following down as she could sense the building's structure was weakening by the minute.

"Up there!" Came the voice of Reikka who had hitched a ride with the earthian girl.

"Yeah so?"

"Vic and Roy, they're in trouble."

As she just said that Terra growled but it soon turned into a smirk as Vic seemed to be handling things. Coming up next to Roy she lept off her slab launching herself at Roy to make sure he was okay.

Reikka still sat hovering on the rock. "Stay here, Black is in trouble." she said noting the girl's distress and hurried over to her to gather the woman in her care. "You'll be okay." Terra said, as Reikka held the woman giving Terra full control of her powers.

She set the women down next to Roy whens he returned. "Damn."

[yeah whatever lost and tire..night.]

Vic dove at Malchior, high above the city, and slammed his metallic fist hard into the dragonman’s face. He punched him a few times in the gut, then swung his foot around to hit the side of Mal’s head hard. Flying up above him, Vic powered up a massive energy beam and shot it at him, sending Malchior hurtling towards the ground at breakneck speed.

“Well done,” said a dark voice. A man wearing a mask with only one eye showing stepped out from the shadows. “Ghost, you have invaded the demon girl’s mind. Now, open her mind to me, and I will show you the full power of the Spawn of Trigon!”

Well, also there was a flying lesson to be had, so funny gray clouds would have to wait. Donna grinned to Grant and walked him to the edge of the building. She wrapped an arm around his waist.

"Arms around me, you can hold on tight, don't worry...it'd be hard for you to hurt me."

She gave him time to get situated.

"Ready?"

Once the nervous young man indicated he was...nothing happened. Well nothing apparent anyway. He might notice his feet feeling a bit limp but her firm grip around him kept the feeling of rising off the roof ti a minimum. A dozen feet, two dozen...three... She grinned and gestured around them, holding him steady and safe far above the ground.

"Uh, yeah." Truth be told, having her this close in that costume...oh, man, that costume...that was making him nervous. He was pretty sure at his current power level, he could survive if he was dropped.

Suddenly he felt nothing under his feet, but without and sense of downward motion. They tingled a little, unused to having the everyday pressure of gravity removed from them. At the same time, he slipped a little lower on her, tightening the arm about her waist. "Whoa!"

Knowing that he probably wasn't supposed to, Grant looked down. The roof beneath them was growing smaller as they rose up into the air. How high were they now? He turned his head to look over the city as it spread out beneath them. "My God...it's, it's amazing!"

He laughed, wiggling his feet in the nothingness of the air. "What a feeling!" "Do you ever just go out flying for fun?" "I mean...I'm not sure I'd ever come down if I could do this." "It's awesome!"

So I remember writing a big long post...and I guess it didn't go through.God. Damn.It

“Well done,” said a dark voice. A man wearing a mask with only one eye showing stepped out from the shadows. “Ghost, you have invaded the demon girl’s mind. Now, open her mind to me, and I will show you the full power of the Spawn of Trigon!”

Ghost turned to face the strange man. His entire body was wracked by a strange feeling...so unlike that of Superboy. It was a powerful rage, dark and terrible like a storm. It was held back by the slimmest of emotional barriers, and it seemed to wish to break through like a terrible beast.

He could feel four burning red eyes staring directly into him.

"I...don't know if you want to see this..." He choked out of Raven's throat. He was starting to miss the Kryptonian.

Forcing Raven's arm up, Ghost concentrated on extending a small black cloud from his fingertips. Raven's strange, chaotic memories swirled and battered against him. She was incredibly mentally powerful, she was already beginning to force him out. But one thing came through, a way to focus the power, to focus the mind.

"Azerath...metreon...Zinthos!" He chanted slowly, the tendril of power touching on the strange man's forehead, opening Raven's mind to him.

Starfire fell into the waters below from the blast, driving herself back up through it in a fury. Robin was nowhere to be found, and now someone was attacking them- And she still had to inquire her sister's intentions... What a day this was becoming already!

She dropped down into the hole in the tower, frowning as she saw Komi on the floor. "Sister!" She stooped down to help her, glancing up as she saw Raven and the strange man- No, that couldn't be Raven. Something about her voice-
"Sister... I-I think we should take our leave of this place... I believe we are safe here no longer. Friend Raven is no longer of her own mind..."

------------

Raven could hear them. All of them- Star, Ghost... and that man. Ghost had shown her what he could do before, back at the labs... but to force himself into her mind like this was unforgivable. What was he- Then she heard the man before them.
He wanted her father!

Try to get to someone.. Tell someone that-
*Gar...* She prayed she could get her own thoughts out, with Ghost inhabiting her like this. At least she could try. *Ghost is.. He's trying to get my father. He's.. he's summoning Trigon. My room-*

She couldn't do it anymore. Ghost was trying to take over more of her mind, something she couldn't prevent when focused on getting her thoughts out. She had to stop or risk losing the little bit of control she still had.

The mere presence in Raven's mind was becoming painful. It was so cold, and so dark, and everywhere he could feel the hungry gaze of those four terrible eyes. Ghost couldn't remember the last time he had been truly, genuinely frightened. A big part of him wanted out of Raven's head.

But so much power was at her command. Slade had told him of the demonic god-king Trigon the Terrible. He had told Ghost about the limitless power the Trigon commanded. And he had told him about Trigon's daughter, and heir to his might; Raven. Such a power could finally make him complete.

"Stupid gnat" A dark voice boomed within Raven's mind. To even hear it was painful, each word of this horrible voice was like a blow and Ghost fell to his knees, his hands clutching Raven's ears.

The menacing tone continued, "You think I am some genie to be summoned to grant you power? I am a God! I am Trigon the Terrible and I will not be conjured by some spirit!"

"But if you crave such power...then I may have a use for you. Until then, leave my key! She has a very special purpose"

Ghost felt his entire world shrink and expand. Pain wracked his spirit as a tremendous burst of dark power forced it's way through Raven's body, twisting and spiraling around her in the shape of a great dark bird. He felt his ethereal spirit torn from Raven's body before being hurled across the room, slamming into the far wall.

Blood spurted from his bottom lip at the impact and suddenly he could his breath. He couldn't bleed...his heart didn't pump...he didn't even have blood! Reaching a hand up, he was stunned to see a stranger's hand at his command. Ghost's eyes traveled downward, his pupils growing wide in utter shock.

He was quite different from before

"This is my gift to you little spirit. Enjoy the days until my coming."

She was watching his reactions, a smile wide across her face. She knew he'd love it once he got used to it. Sure there was that first moment of panic where he wasn't secure in her grip or his own, she tightened the arm curled around his waist and pulled him more snugly to her. Her other am was forward, like a directional pointer which the rest of her body followed. He was in no danger of falling, she wouldn't let him, even if he did manage to get free she could catch him easily enough before he hit the ground, this was indeed the safest way to fly.

"I fly for fun sometimes, or when I need to think, there's some great places here, so high no one but birds bother you. Sometimes I sit there and think. Ready for the real cool stuff?"

A grin and she snugged him against her once more, pushing some concentration in the effort of flight to build up speed. Soon the wind was whipping at their clothing, sending her hair flying in snapping wild ebony banners along her back. Sunlight glinted off the silver of her bracelets as they matched and then passed a low flying airplane. Ok, she was showing off now, she really was, but why not? A laugh and sudden cough, something acrid and sour caught in her mouth and she looked down, they were entering that dark smokey cloud she'd seen earlier...and it was smoke more assuredly. Coming from the T shaped building!

"Grant...you see what I see?"

He agreed, also suggesting they check it out, Donna was already bringing them in for a swift descent to the building.

OOC: Damn, I waited too long to post. Now I have lost the window for my plan. Sorry Dragon, looks like our special characters will have to come in later on.

OOC: Nah, it was never my place to make plans for Trigon anyway. He's Raven's father, which leaves him in Lily's control. The plan was for Nightwing and Lunar Blade (Robin and Bladesman from thirty years in the future) to come back and try and stop Slade from summoning Trigon, which would ultimately destroy life as they knew it. In their dark future, Trigon has enslaved most of the universe, and they came back to stop Slade from making that connection with the Ghost possesed Raven. Slade's plan was to use Ghost to try and control Trigon's power which would prove too much for even him, and then he'd have the classic "What have I done!" thing going on. But meh, this will work too. Like I said, I was wrong to make plans for a character that was never meant to be under my control.

OOC: Oops, didn't see I had a PM, haha. I've read it, what's done is done. It's not right for me to make people edit their posts just for a plan I made hidden from everyone.

"I bet it must be great for that, perfect solitude to think in." "Plus...I guess seeing things from that high up can give you a little perspective." Grant paled a bit as they stopped hovering and started to actually fly. The motion was something that kind of left your guts in a lurch at first. He had run faster than cars before, but he'd never gotten this fast. He started to grin as Donna really opened up, laughing and cheering her on as they passed the small plane.

Grant happened to catch the eye of the staring co-pilot. He shrugged and then waved, calling out "Sorry, should have signaled that we were passing!"

"Yeah...that's where the Titans are, same place that got hit last night." Man, those guys couldn't get a break, could they? Was Harper there? Grant was still pissed at him for the way he'd made Donna feel, but he did owe the guy a lot. "Let's get in there and help 'em out."

She shifted him in her grasp, holding him be the armpits as they streaked down toward the building, following the billowing smoke in. As they fell like a shooting star, Grant grabbed the collar of the shirt he was wearing and tugged. The buttons sprang off, the shirt pulling open to reveal the orange and black of his costume underneath. Even in the midst of whatever emergency this was, that was still pretty cool.

"I don't know what the score is, we need to find Harper!"

"Then it's your turn to carry me sister. I managed to take the brunt of the blast and the brunt of puncturing the wall." Komi said through gritted teeth. She hated admiting that she was less than capable of anything.

She began to rise from the floor and wobbled. Then she looked up into her sister's face. Rage began to fill her looking at Kori. No one but I'm allowed to hurt you she thought. The rage made her feel more stable. When I hurt you it's going to be badly. It's going to wrack you to your very core. When I hurt you sister it's going to be from a position of having your trust. There it was, Komi's own Joyous thought that would allow her to fly.

"Nevermind carrying me Kori, I've gotten my wind back," Komi smiled, "Lead on little sister."

Raven had control again. At least, she thought she did. She could hear her father inside her mind, laughing at what he had done to Ghost, holding her in the air as the black aura surrounded her.
*Tick.. tock. Tick.. tock. Are you as eager as I, child?*

"Get... out... of my head...," she growled out, trying hard to supress him once again. She thought she could actually feel Gar, scampering about in her cloak- That made her only fight more. "I won't let you hurt my friends..."

She couldn't hear him anymore, dropping to the floor as the aura released. A soft raspy breathing came from her as she laid there, going into her meditations to be sure no one had done any damage to her mind.

((OOC: Daddy goes byebye since he's not needed at the moment.))

"I will assist you, of course.." Star helped her to her feet, smiling warmly as she looked at her. It turned to surprise as Blackfire suddenly declared her independent movement, shrugging. "Ah... very well."

She glanced back, picking up Superboy. "I shall carry Connor, then." She took to the air, darting back out the hole her sister had made and heading into the sky. "I do hope you awaken soon, friend..," She whispered to him, frowning. "We could greatly use your assistance."

Somewhere safe, for the time being... The tower would need help. Again. The school! "Sister, follow me! We can provide Connor with treatment and take sanctuary in the school!"

“What?! Noooo! My plan has failed... Ghost, you have taken the power that was meant for me... I will not forgive you for this, fool. In time, I will return!” there was a bright flash, and then Slade was gone.

"I trust your judgement Kori." Blackfire said.

Following her she had to remember to keep this smooth. Kori was naive and gullible but she wasn't a complete fool. Keep it as simple as possible and Kori might just fall for it. She was too trusting.

Now while following Starfire to this school she had time to start thinking. She would want allies she could trust on this planet. Roy and Terra had accepted her quickly but that could simply be because they knew Kori. There were two to work on. This Superboy seemed to be strong. There had to be some angle she could use to manipulate him. Bladesman too seemed an easy one to manipulate. Show a little interest and maybe a bit of leg and he'd drool like a fool.

As they began dropping altitude she began to think of things like finding a place to stay and looking at her sister the thought that a wardrobe change had to happen came to her as well.

Donna inside the Tower

Donna eased Grant down, her voice catching a bit with his mention of the red head.

"Roy?"

Past history or not she cared for him and the thought of seeing him injured fueled that Amazon in her. Donna stood, feet wide apart, china blue eyes on that purple clad guy. Ohh nooo..this was not going to end well.

"Stop this at once! You get one warning."

Diana had always told her to be fair when she could, it wasn't as if most people knew what they were dealing with anyway. And this time they surely didn't, an enraged Amazon was not a thing anyone should wish to see.

(Tag Mal)

“Curse you!” Malchior growled as he recovered from Cyborg’s attack. Now he had both the robot freak and an amazon to deal with. “This is not over!” he spat, then flew off at the speed of a jet.

Superboy's eyes snapped open in a sudden burst of life. Everything that had transpired came rushing back to him suddenly, Ghost taking hold of his body, destroying the generator...hurting his friends.

"Let me go Starfire." He spoke slowly and firmly as he freed himself from the Tamaranian girl's arms. Normally he would wanted to stay there for a little longer...but there was another matter to attend to.

The Kryptonian youth's head turned. They were moving away from the Tower, probably headed somewhere safe. But Superboy had no interest in safe at the moment, his only concern was to find Ghost and stop him.

His eyes met Starfire's for a moment. He saw the gentleness in her eyes, and once again heard her silent urgings to him, to please stop. He couldn't look her in the eyes.

"I need to go back. We need to go back and make sure the Hive isn't going to attack again" He said over his shoulder as he began to hover next to Starfire. His powers were still shaky but he was getting control back.
