Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

Superboy's eyes snapped open in a sudden burst of life. Everything that had transpired came rushing back to him suddenly, Ghost taking hold of his body, destroying the generator...hurting his friends.

"Let me go Starfire." He spoke slowly and firmly as he freed himself from the Tamaranian girl's arms. Normally he would wanted to stay there for a little longer...but there was another matter to attend to.

The Kryptonian youth's head turned. They were moving away from the Tower, probably headed somewhere safe. But Superboy had no interest in safe at the moment, his only concern was to find Ghost and stop him.

His eyes met Starfire's for a moment. He saw the gentleness in her eyes, and once again heard her silent urgings to him, to please stop. He couldn't look her in the eyes.

"I need to go back. We need to go back and make sure the Hive isn't going to attack again" He said over his shoulder as he began to hover next to Starfire. His powers were still shaky but he was getting control back.

"You "Superboy" need to understand limits. You need medical attention we believe. If it will appease your nobility I will go back and insure that this is over. You need to allow my sister to get you to the attention you need." Blackfire said cooly.

"Sister, do not allow him to go back. I see where you intend to take him. I will come right back once I have seen that this incident is over. I will also bring back any others who are injured," Komi said looking her sister in the eye, "No matter if you trust me or not, know that this is an affair of battle. These people have caused you, Roy, and myself harm as well as Superboy. I am not going to allow them to do any more damage. There is at least one other in that battle I am interested in getting to know better. I will not allow any harm to come to her as well. If I find this Robin I will bring him to you."

With that she turned and sped back towards the tower.

Ashton laid there, wincing. At some point during the battle, he had been hit with some kind of energy. He had passed out, and had only just came to consciousness. He managed to sit up slowly, most of the bones in his body aching. But for now, it seemed to be over. He looked up, and saw Raven just standing there. Then she dropped to the floor. He lumbered to his feet, groaning as his body slowly responded. He moved over to her, each step bringing on fresh pain. Then he knelt down beside her. "We seem to be a magnet for trouble, don't we?"

"Ghost caused you great harm, Connor. I do not wish to lose a friend to someone that has such power. I know not much can hurt you... and he did. That is not a good sign." Star looked to her sister as she explained her plan. "Please, take care of yourself... and please find my Robin!"

Turning her attentions back to Superboy, she raised her hand out to him. "If you allow me to tend to the wounds you have received at the school, I will accompany you back to the Tower to search for Hive members. But now your worries should be in your own well being. You cannot help anyone if you are weak."

-------------------

"Seems... that way." Raven tried to get up, her head in a daze from everything that had happened in such a short amount of time. Three different people trying to share one body was a rather tight fit, especially with the other two fighting her from the inside.
"Where's Gar? And Ghost- what happened to him?"

Ashton shook his head, then held out his hand to help her up. "I dunno about Gar. I thought I saw some sort of flash, and then Ghost was gone. But didn't mister dragonface say Robin was dead? Not that I believe anything the guy says, but..."

Raven took his offered hand, getting up and frowning. "Ghost took off? I take it this wasn't exactly what he had been expecting to happen. Not quite sure what he was hoping for to begin with. Trying to wake Trigon is suicidal... I'm suprrised my father let him live for that."

She glanced to him as he spoke of Robin, her face paling a bit more than usual. "Robin is...? No, that can't be true... That dragon guy has many different threats in his vocabulary, and I wouldn't put lying past him. I won't believe such a thing until I see it for myself. Once I get everything situated in my head, I'll see if I can find him with telepathy. Right now, though... I'm still trying to figure out what's me and what isn't."

That, and she was still quite worried about Gar. Last she remembered was warning him to get away from her...

Gar nestled along Raven's spine. The words took a moment to process when he was an insect as they didn't quite hear in the same way as he usually did in more familiar forms. Something about using her to access something or someone called Trigon seemed to be the bad guys' plan as far as he could gather.

He sensed Raven's mental call to him and prepared himself to act, but then something else happened and Ghost was ejected from the heroine's body. Gar couldn't see what had become of Ghost, but he didn't feel the same sort of cold that he had earlier.

Maybe he needs to activate that or something.

Raven had dropped to the ground and was trying to calm herself as far as Gar could tell. He could hear Ashton and her speaking. "We seem to be a magnet for trouble, don't we?"

"Seems... that way," Raven said as Gar could feel her sitting up. "Where's Gar? And Ghost- what happened to him?" she asked.

"I dunno about Gar. I thought I saw some sort of flash, and then Ghost was gone. But didn't mister dragonface say Robin was dead? Not that I believe anything the guy says, but..."

Gar lost what they were saying as he concentrated on coming out without breaking either Raven's flesh or clothes. She was speaking when he emerged.
"Right now, though... I'm still trying to figure out what's me and what isn't."

Gar slid himself out from Raven's skin and slithered along her back and out the top of her collar to become a gorilla and scoop her up. "Good idea, but if dragonface's right, then we have even more need to regroup. Let's get out of the building and see what condition everyone is in."

He turned Raven to meet her eyes. "Starting with you," he said quietly. "How are you?"

Roy.

Roy grabbed Blackfire's ankle as she started to leave Before A huge blast of purple energy took them through a wall. He thought it took them through anyway. Being but a normal man, the impact jarred his mind for a moment and try as he might he could barely register the fist slamming his face or the knee in his Gut. The cool air as he flew upwards. Was Terra protecting him, Turning him around, Taking him on a flight?

If she was or whoever was doing this he didn't really like the Deceleration he was feeling. It was disconcerting, But he slowed. It jarred bu he slowed. And lay on the ground near the entrance. People came and babbled sounding as if far away. But someone was standing next to him.

He hoped they were friendly still.

(OOC: ok I have about zero creativity so Going through a wall and all I guess isn't so bad. I'm jsut go with the Realistic apprach to being a guy knocked through a concrete wall follwed by a massively powered person Hitting me.

Concussed. See ya when I wake.)

Raven wasn't sure what to think of suddenly finding herself in a set of fuzzy green arms, glancing up to see the Gorilla-face of Gar looking down at her. She gave a soft smile, leaning her head to his chest. "Beast Boy..."

She looked back to Ashton, giving a nod. "Check the ground level for any other Titans that may be injured. Gar and I will take an aerial view of the place, see if anyone may have gotten tossed during that explosion- and may be lucky enough to spot Ghost and his pack."

Gar shifted her towards him, looking up at him with surprised eyes. "How are you?" His voice was so soft... It sounded strange coming from the large frame he was in at the moment.

"I'm ok, Gar. I promise. Just a little shaken right now."

Ashton nodded. He was thinking the same thing. He found his blade among the rubble, still active and crackling with the energy of it. He turned it off, and hooked it to his belt, before looking at them. "Take good care of her, Gar. We've already taken too much damage to lose anyone to who knows what. I'll check the tower from top to bottom. I'll let you know who or what I find." He started for the elevator, then realized that the backups didn't affect it. Sighing, he noticed the hole through part of the stairwell, courtesy of Terra. He should have thought of backup stairs, but it hadn't occurred to him. So he crouched down, then jumped as high as he could, grabbing on to the next level and pulling himself up.

Gar nodded but gave Raven a look. He shifted to himself as they headed out of the basement, but kept her in his arms for now. "Okay, but I'll be watching, alright?"

It was odd how quickly emotional turmoil and having friends in danger tended to make bonds between people. Gar had seen it...had even lived it...before, and he just hoped this wasn't just one of those sort of moments that happened between people who survive catastrophe.

They reached the stairs and Gar considered setting Raven on her feet, but he liked the feel of her in his arms and against his chest. She'll let me know when she wants down. "I was half thinking I'd imagined your mindspeak earlier. Was there something in your room that would have helped with what Ghost was doing to you? Something that at least one of the team should know about?"

"I'm not going to argue." Raven gave him a smile, closing her eyes a moment to see if she could try to find anyone. When she reopened them, she saw Gar looking at her again. "You.. didn't imagine that. I got scared with Ghost's probing around in my head, and when I realized what he was doing, I tried to get to you. Unfortunately, I couldn't handle fighting him off and talking to you at the same time..."

"In my room, there's a book and a dagger. The dagger was blessed by Azar, and can do great damage to my father. In the book is an incantation that will cause the portal to reopen... and shut it down until the gateway can be controlled." She looked up at him with a slight frown. "It puts me into a forced meditation until I can get my emotions back in control and keep him out. I suppose you could call it a comatose state. That's why I'd rather use it as a last resort..."

(considering I got ignored completely when talking to Blackfire. Gonna write Terra out hit me when you want her to show back up again. Reikka is out too same goes for her.)

Terra rolled her eyes setting Reikka down and looking over the damange that had been done. "Well my work here is done. I was only called in to get Roy here." She looked about for a moment before a smirk came to her lips and she jumped on her rock piece taking off into the sky. "Call me if you need me..." she said to no one inparticular and was gone.

"I will try to find him sister. In any case I will be bringing back anyone that is injured as well." Blackfire sped off. Flying was helping her clear her head. Hopefully one of the injured would be able to break the news about this Robin to her and she wouldn't have to.

Approaching the tower she could tell that it wasn't in good shape. She would be amazed if it managed to stay standing for long. But she was no archetect so she couldn't say for sure. She saw Terra leave but she had pro, ised to get the injured out. She was glad that Terra had made it through this unhurt.

As she approached the hole that had been made in the wall with her body she slowed and cautiously entered. "Is anyone here in need of medical aid? Starfire has set up a temporary place at a school. Does anyone need assistance getting there?"

Gar nodded.

Above them, he could hear someone asking about anyone needing help and that Star was organizing people. He shook his head at the thought. The gold-skinned alien girl seemed nice enough, and was great to look at, but she had struck Gar as very stereotypically blonde.

Oh well, I'm sure I'm not the picture that comes to mind when it comes to leadership things, either.

"Raven, you okay to fly? Should we go get this dagger and book or are you fine, and we should go meet with Star and whomever that is up there?"

He turned while she thought it over and shouted up, "Beast Boy and Raven, we're well enough to get out on our own. Blademaster is moving on his own, but should see an EMT or doctor at first chance."

"I should be alright, Gar. If you can set me down... No, the dagger won't be needed. I just need to get myself under control again." A few deep breaths, and Raven gave him another smile. He was concerned.... She wasn't used to something like that.

She glanced up as Beast Boy shouted to the person above them, a bit confused. "Who...? Starfire- The girl that was with her, ahh.. Her sister?"

Beast Boy

"Of course I can set you down," Gar told Raven with a smile that broke into a really big grin. "Maybe I like holding you, y'know?" he added as he put her feet back to the ground again.

"Who...? Starfire- The girl that was with her, ahh.. Her sister?" Raven was saying. Gar just shrugged.

"I think I heard Star and some others, maybe Ashton, speaking and the word sister might have come up. It was a little hard to hear where I was at the time." He laughed and became a falcon. "Well, any sister of Star's is bound to be a friend of ours, right? Let's go introduce ourselves."

Gar flew about Raven in a lazy circle, taking in how she looked and began moving upwards out of the ruined basement.

"I am Blackfire. Starfire's sister. I have come to help seeing as my sister trusts you," Komi said down to the Girl in the dark clothes. I like her sense of fashion Komi thought to herself. The Green skinned male also seemed interesting. Are there green skinned people here as well? Komi had only seen a few different skin tones here.

The she saw Roy. Laying there not moving. She flew down and gently picked him up. "I trust you know what school it is that Star has taken Superboy to? If not please try to keep up. I fear Roy is hurt somewhat worse than most of you." With that she took off smoothly and accelerated quickly.

"Roy," Komi said quietly to him as she flew, "I will find the ones that have done this to you and when I do they will learn what one should not do to a friend of mine. They will learn painfully. Maybe even finally." With that she continued murmuring reassurances as she flew hard and fast for the school. Once she got there she would leave Roy in Kori's care and try to find the remains of this Robin that she had heard was dead.

Ashton made his way around the tower, managing to pick up most of his blades. He sighed, seeing how much damage had been done to the place. He was less than happy, needless to say. He went up to his bedroom, and changed into his normal suit and body armor that he wore. Then he started loading up on blades. He hooked a few sabers and daggers to his belt, then put the longsword he had made days ago onto his back.. Or was it weeks ago, he thought suddenly. He shrugged, then picked up a spear, and held it in one hand, before heading down to the garage of the tower. He hadn't found anyone else in it, so he hoped they had all gotten out. He saw the sleek black motorcyle he and Robin had constructed for him, and grabbed the keys off a rack. He climbed onto the beast, and started the engine, before heading out into the city. He was fortunately able to track the active communicators using one of Robin's helmets which had a heads up display. He headed for the school, touching a communication circuit in the helmet. "Everyone okay?"

Donna

Donna and Grant arrived in the aftermath, people were being taken away for medical treatment, and the building was being evacuated. She could hardly feel more useless. Passing glimpses of people she didn't know, all of whom were too busy to stop and fill her in on what was going on. The best she could do was begin sifting the rubble for danger. The last thing anyone needed was a weak foundation or wall caving in on someone.

"Do you know these people? Is there any way we can help?"

And why was there no sign of Roy? That might have been part of what had Donna worried, not being able to find him and thinking perhaps somewhere under the debris... No, she refused to think like that. Roy Harper had his foster fathers luck, he would never succumb to anything. She'd met the older man a few times in her dating Roy, she could see where the red head had picked up some of his traits by the way his foster dad was with his own girl friend.

Dinah was a beautiful woman, and kind, but they were both very open about their attraction and passion for one another. It sometimes made Donna uncomfortable with their freedom to slap backsides or make innuendo, on the rare times she caught it. Donna was sheltered and naive, but something were blatant enough even for her to catch.

Donna hoisted and moved chunks of wall, some piled here or there out of the way, other used to brace walls that looked shaky. She wasn't an architect but her artist eye could track the lines of the walls well enough to tell where the weight would be distributed. She did what she could, moving debris and trying to clean the hazards out of the space.

She paused to wipe sweat from her brow and brush dust from her bright red uniform. Wondering just where all the others had gone, and since this was so nearly finished if there was more she could offer to help these people. A small round device on the floor blinked, or at least the light on it did.

With a raised brow Donna picked it up, looked to be some sort of...well...device. She showed it to Grant, hitting a button accidentally in the process and hearing static come through the small speaker. A communicator! She felt for the button again and spoke softly and hesitantly into the found Teen Titan com.

"Hello? Is anyone there? Do you need help?"

Komi landed at the school and laid Roy down. "Take care of him Sister, I'm going to find Robin now."

Then taking to the sky again she flew as fast as she could to begin this futile search. She already expected to find his corpse and have to be the one to console her sister. Maybe this would be the thing to toughen little Kori up. Loosing a loved one or, as Komi was begining to suspect, a lover always seemed to make one toughen up or break.

Once this search is over I will console Kori and prove to her that I have "reformed" from my wicked ways Komi thought. Then I will start to make a place here for myself as other than Star's big sister. I will gain allies and acquantences. I will build a power base for myself here and then slowly, oh so slowly, begin to build myself a comfortable little place where my will is law.

Entering the tower from the roof she began searching floor by floor not bothering with the wasted time of opening the doors instead blowing them open with starbolts. She was searching for anyone down. Looking for her little sister's precious Robin.

Determining that levels weren't living areas she would skip the rest of that level and continue to the next one down.

Jessie Chambers was one of the most unassuming girls at school. She was one of the "geeks". She was born to John Chambers Jr. and Alissa Moran. Her father is the CEO of See All Tell All video productions. Her mother, in Jessie's words, is the cheesecake weather reporter for one of the local news shows.

With both of her parents working she spent a lot of time with her grandfather John senior. Or Johnny as he was known to the many old friends of his that would visit him. As Jessie grew up she took to heart a favorite phrase of her Grandfather's. That quote was "It's all in the equation." Jessie took to mathematics with a passion at a very young age. Mastering Algebra by age 8 and calculus by age 12. Her intelligence didn;t make her a popular girl. This is why she has a runner's physique. Jessie's answers had always been to out run the bullies that would try to pick on her. By age 14 she had more embarrassment. Anytime Grandad Chambers saw her when he had visitors he'd comment to them that she looked like a natural runner. His friends would glare at him and tell him not to push that on her. Her fondest memories of Grand dad were the stories he would tell of the time period when he sort of stalked one of the heroes of that golden age during the great war. He would tell her tales of the exploits of a hero named, lamely by her opinion, Johnny Quick.

But as is the truth with all good things, these good times have come to an end. Grand dad died. Under strange surcumstances. Jessie caught it in the newspapers. The same day Grand dad died so did the hero Johnny Quick. Johnny Quick had died in a battle with a super villain. After Grand dad's closed casket funeral the will was read. Dad had gotten the Company Grand dad had. Jessie got half of the money in a trust fund and Grand dad's house. Dad as Jessie's caregiver was set up as the trustee of Jessie's part of it all. Dad had planned to invest wisely for Jessie and he would rent out Grand dad's house until Jessie came of age. Jessie begged dad to not do this one thing. Dad managed to arrange an account to manage the house until Jessie's eightenth birthday. Jessie being will ful managed to keep everything in the house. Three days ago she reached her eighteeth birthday. With her parents' blessing she was given her trust fund and was permitted to move into the house.

She has begun the proccess of going through Grand dad's effects. In the attic she found several dusty old boxes. In these boxes she found an old journal with a mathematical equation written in it. Many notes were in the journal about this equation. The equation was "3X2(9YZ)4A". From that point in the journal on things took a strange twist. It became a diary. Johnny Quick's diary. In Grand dad's writting. In a near panic Jessie ripped open the next box and to her surprise she found an old old costume. It hit her hard. Her Grand Dad had been a Super Hero. She had a fit. It took her a day to get over this. In that day she found that her belief that superheroes were ther ultimate jocks seemed to be on the rocks. Jessie had always disliked Jocks. They had always been among her chief antagonists.

Unfortunately for Jessie she had her family's curse of curiousity. She began running the equation through her head. "3X2(9YZ)4A". It made no sense at all. What did this equation solve? It has been nagging at her for the past day now. It keeps running through her head as she continued weeding out the junk that she would get rid of. While she was in the garage she had a pile of things she had wanted to keep that had been Grandma's. One was an old replica of the Liberty Belle in the form of a necklace. She put it on. the equation kept running through her head as she kept working. That was hwne she found a box of grandma's things. In it was another old costume. Oh no. How could she not have known or been told about this? Her Grandma had been Liberty Belle. Another of the Heroes of Johnny Quick's era. In a fury she threw the box accross the garage. She saw the box flying towards an old lamp she had always loved that Grand Dad had moved out to the garage because it had been Grandma's. The equation went through her head as she paniced and tried to rush to stop the lamp's demise. To her surprise she not only beat the box to the lamp but was back where she had been standing when she threw the box.

It all hit her. "It's all in the equation." That had been what Grand Dad meant by that saying.

Oh crap. She realized at that moment that she had just become something she didn't like. A Preternormal. A "Super Being". Deciding she was done for the day in the garage she blurred into the kitchen and turned on an old T.V. that Grand Dad had always used to watch the news over breakfast and dinner. That was when she saw the reports about these Teen Titans. Superheroes.

"I won't become one of them," she said to herself, "But if I'm fast enough maybe I can make sure they don't end up becoming super bullies. In a frenzy she went back to the garage and got Grandma's old sewing machine. And Grand Dad's old costume. Deciding that she wouldn't dishonor Grand Dad she went to a fabric store and bought Red and yellow spandex. Putting together a costume so the Titan's couldn't know who she was in her self imposed duty of watching the Watchmen. But first she had to learn her limits and full capacities.

Thus is born Jessie Quick.

Jessie

Okay. Self taught lesson one. How fast can I go? Focusing the equation in her head she muttered "3X2(9YZ)4A".

She ran hard. As fast as she could. Things began to rush past her. Faster and faster. At a point she realized she was feeling the necklace under the costume vibrating. It kept vibrating. In Philidelphia the Liberty bell shuddered. The sonic boom was consumed by the necklace.

Stopping as she realized she was about to hit Lake Michigan she stopped. Oh my god she thought, across the state in... Looking to her watch she realized it had been somewhere between a second to three seconds. She sat down hard.

"Okay. Let's just try that a little slower." Standing she started to jog. What she would have thought of as a slow jog. Things were blurring around her. She stopped at the point she had originally started at. A look at the watch told her she had it down to fifteen minutes to get back. Okay, jog, don't full run unless it has to happen. On the return trip the necklace had stayed still.

Alright then. Let's just jog around town and see what there is to see. Nothing unusual until she could see that dumb tower that the Titans had. It was a wreck. Oh well, she thought, thier loss. Advertise yourselves that much and trouble's going to find you.

Let's just take a few more passes around the city and see if there's any fall out. As she passed the high school she saw Someone fly in carrying someone and a few moments later fly out again. Okay. So something is going on at the school. Start jogging again. As she blurred around the city something caught her eye. A guy on a motorcycle with enough blades on him to start a small medieval war. Let's find out if he knows anything about what's going on at the school. If these Titans trash the computer lab Jessie realized she was going to be mad.

Jogging to a stop in the morocycle's path a safe enough distance, she hoped, for it to be able to stop she put her hands on her hips.

Ashton had been looking at the headsup display when something stepped into his path. He cut the engine, and turned the bike sideways, slowly skidding to a stop. He raised an eyebrow, then slowly removed the helmet. "Not smart to get in the path of a moving vehicle. Who are you, and what's your business? I'm in a hurry, after all. Big trouble going on." He studied the girl, one hand holding the helmet, the other the bike's brakes.

"No as dumb as you might think for me," Jessie replied, "And is the big trouble something going on at the High School? If it is you better get there and make sure that there's no property damage. You Titans aren't above the law."

Ashton sighed, then shook his head. Another punk who thought there was something wrong with people protecting other people. "The Titans are not now, nor have they ever been the enemy of anyone except those who break the law. As for the high school, chances are the other Titans are headed there to seek first aid. Our tower was attacked by some nutjobs who tried to kill us. So unless you want to help, get out of the way."
