Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

OOC: I’m just going to move this along a bit. Remec, and anyone else who still needs to post, you can just quote each post put and your replies all in one post.

IC:
After the green guy, revealing himself to be a shapeshifter called Beast Boy, explained what had happened to Angel, the team went right to the hospital, parked, and ran inside. They found her in the ICU, where she was barely alive.

“Are you her friends?” asked the nurse as she came in. They nodded.

“Is she going to be okay?” asked Robin. The nurse looked doubtful.

“Her vocal cords are crushed beyond repair, and her ribs are shattered. Several blood vessels have ruptured, and she is suffering from internal bleeding.. I’m sorry...” The nurse left them to be alone with her, and the team gathered around her. She opened her eyes, and smiled to them, and with the last of her energy, she held up a napkin. On one side, she had written the note to Beast Boy asking him to get the Titans, but it said something different on the side she was showing them.

Get Bane Junior. Make him pay...

With one last smile to all her friends, she leaned her head back to look at the ceiling. Her gaze softened, and her eyes became cloudy. Her limps stiffened, and for a moment, she looked frozen in time. Then, one last gasp of air escaped her lips, and she was gone.. The heart monitor filled the room with a long, unending beep, and Robin slid a hand over her face to close her eyes, blinking furiously.

Robin walked over to Beast Boy. “You tried to save her, and you got us so she could see us before she died. Thank you, Beast Boy. Here--” he handed him a communicator “--you are now an honorary Teen Titan.” Robin turned to look out the window.

“Bane Junior...” said Robin, his voice full of hate. “I never knew Bane had a son... I will make him pay for what he has done..” With that, he turned and headed for the door.

"Robin!"
Starfire gave a tearful look to Angel's bed, then went to him, grabbing his arm. "You shall not go after this Bane person on your own. Angel was my friend as well... I shall go with you." She may have been crying, but her eyes were furious as she tightened her fist, a green glow forming about it. "What he has done to our friend is unforgivable...." The longer she stood there, the more tears fell from her eyes.

Raven stood at the end of the bed, not moving as she looked at Angel. "She's.. gone...," She said softly, pushing her hood back, then looked over to Robin and Starfire. "Star's right. You're not going alone. Angel was one of us."

“Anyone else coming?” Robin said, then headed out to the parking lot. Not caring whether he was seen, he pulled a spare Robin suit from a secret compartment on his bike and changed. “Can one of you carry me? We can get to the cemetery faster if we fly.”

Ashton nodded, leaning against the wall. Angel was one of them, a Titan, in spirit and in actuality. They had to do something. "I suppose I'd better get to work on my latest design. Something tells me we're going to need it." He stepped away from the wall, and started for the door.

"I-I will take you, Robin," Starfire sniffled out, wiping at her eyes. "I do not wish to be alone right now." She floated up from the ground, then reached down to pick him up. "You believe this Bane is still at the cemetary? Then that is where we shall go.. "

"Right." Raven followed suit, the clouds returning to her hands as she jumped up and followed after Starfire.

“I don’t want to be alone either...” Robin said, trying to be strong. He had only known Angel a few hours, but seeing someone die was... not easy. It never was. They arrived at the cemetery, but there was no one in sight. They searched all over, and then Robin started shouting. “Bane! Show yourself, you filthy coward! BANE!”

“You’ll wake the dead screaming like that,” croaked an old man who crept out of the shadows. “If you’re looking for the guy that was here a few minutes ago, he left that way--” the man pointed north “--and rightly so. He was making such a ruckus it woke me from my sleep, much like you lot. As you can see, there is no one here, so please leave and let an old caretaker get back to his sleep.”

“We’re sorry, mister,” said Robin quietly, and they left. “Let’s head north. I’ll be damned if Bane gets away.”

Once they were gone, the old man smiled and pulled out his own communicator. “Headmaster Slade, you were right. They did come after Bane...”

Ashton had instead gone to his house to pick up some stuff. He had the components he needed, he just needed to assemble them. Bane was, according to his information, a giant of a man with super strength. If he had a son, that meant the same thing. Once he had put his new toy together, he pulled out his communicator. "Robin, where are you now?" He was in his truck, driving on instinct in the direction he suspected Bane Juniour would head into.

Starfire frowned at the man's words, readjusting her grip on Robin before taking off in the indicated direction, Raven following behind.
"I do not know where to look, Robin...," Star said softly, peering down at the city below them as they flew on. "I fear... we may have lost him..."

"I'm sorry, guys." Raven's voice seemd to crack as she came beside them. "I.. I don't see anything either."

“Me either...” he said, obviously disappointed. Then the com buzzed. “That’s a Negative, Blade. We... We’ve lost him... You and the others meet us back at the apartment...”

After one more circle of the area, they returned to the apartment. Once the team was together again, Robin sighed and got their attention. “We have lost someone dear to us, and the murderer will pay dearly. But we’ve lost him and that clearly gives him the advantage. Our best bet is to wait for him to show himself. We have a lot to do tomorrow, so we should all get come rest tonight. Whether you want to sleep here or go back to where you slept last night, it’s up to you. Ash has a bunch of sleeping bags in his truck, so feel free to stay here if you wish. Goodnight everyone. Tomorrow will be a better day.” With that, he turned and headed for his room.

Ashton drove back to Dick's apartment, stopping outside. He walked inside, to hear the news. He shook his head at the concept. He leaned against the wall, a case containing his latest project sitting beside him. He nodded when Dick mentioned sleeping bags. "I should have plenty. They're in the bedcase. Meanwhile, I'm going to finish working on this." He sat down, and started to put the pieces together, putting the finishing touches on it.

"Good sleep to you, Robin.." Starfire watched as he headed to his room, then settled down onto the couch, glancing out to see Ashton working on his project. She wasn't quite sure what it was, so she decided not to ask. With some of the things he had told them about earlier, she thought it would only confuse her far more.

"...Goodnight, Star." Raven started for the door of the apartment, which cause Starfire to sit up immediately.
"You.. do not wish to sleep here with us?," Star asked. "Please, do not hold your sorrows to yourself. Stay..."
"Its not that. I just.. I need to go out. I'll be back, I promise," Raven replied, leaving.

Star frowned, then buried herself under the blankets. She lay there for hours... but couldn't get to sleep. She just kept thinking about it... How horrible it was..
She couldn't handle laying there alone.

"Robin...?" She knocked lightly on his door, rubbing her arm. "I.. I do not mean to disturb you. I just- I cannot sleep. May I... stay with you?"

Robin turned over, and smiled up at her, then lifted the covers and patted the bed next to him. “I don’t want to sleep alone either.” He was wearing light blue boxers and a white tank top. The two held each other close, and finally, both fell into a deep sleep.

Reikka finally made herself known after remaining pretty much incognito all day. Everything had taken her for a loop and right now the last thing she needed was excitement.

Coming to sit next to Ashton while he worked she said nothing at first just letting him do his thing. Eventually the silence was overwhelming as she leaned over his shoulders like so many times before to see his newest invention. "Working late?" she questioned. A bit redundant but considering the circumstances anything was fair game. She just hoped he wouldn't snap at her.

Ashton raised an eyebrow, soldering electronic equipment inside the sword. He shrugged as Reikka asked him such a silly question. "Want to get this finished before we face Bane Junior. It will help." He continued his work, putting the blade together piece by piece.

"Shouldn't you get some rest?" she question noting his fatigued formed, but then she was no better off. "I mean you could always get up early and finish." Though why put off doing this tomorrow. She wanted to ask if he were okay but that was currently the clique word of the day. She herself had no feelings on the subject, she didn't know Angel nor cared to know the girl and thusly didn't care so much now. Did that make her a bad person? Sighing she remained silent thinking...

Ashton shrugged again. He probably should rest, but something was bugging him. Something big, tickling at the back of his mind about the heist from earlier. He continued his work, about half finished now. "Something's wrong about this whole thing. It's almost like Junior was a distraction."

"Hm?" Reikka tilted her head wondering where that had come from. "I don't see why but that is awfully cruel to use Bane in suck a way to distract you." though it did make some since. No one would have been willing to do other things with Angel in such a state and their anger over the situation.

Ashton touched the soldering iron to a connection, the metal merging almost instantly. Satisfied with the internal parts, he held up the sword, and pressed in an indentation, and a big red edge surrounded the blade. He nodded slowly, then let his thumb go, and set the blade back down. He picked up a small sonic welder, and started to weld the coverplate on over the electronics. "It just doesn't make sense as anything but a premeditated attack."

Sighing she sat back saying nothing for the moment. After a breif silence she tapped him on the shoulder. "Ashton please get some rest...staying up all night beating yourself over it won't bring the answers to you. Rest and talk to the others in the morning about it."

Ashton raised an eyebrow, looking at her for a moment, then shrugged. He was finished with his work anyways. "You're probably right. You should get some rest too." Ashton grabbed a couple of pillows and a blanket, and laid down on the floor, used to such conditions.

Raven returned to the cemetary, settling into the furthest corner of it and dropping down into a cross legged stance. Something about this whole thing didn't add up to her. Why had Angel been there to begin with?
She closed her eyes, focusing on it, trying to find where Angel had been.
Someone there was family to her... a parent..

She stood back up, her hood back over her face as she wandered amongst the graves. Cemeteries always made her uneasy- not that they frightened her, but from the feeling it gave her from her powers. She felt them... the spirits.
She found Angel's mother, resting a hand against the stone before wandering further off. No sign of the old man...
She whinced a bit as she saw the scuffle area between Angel, Beast Boy, and Bane Junior. Angel hadn't a chance at all from what the prints showed... But she had tried, from the small burn marks on the ground.
This cemetary had caused her to feel something earlier as well... Something just wasn't right here.

After they'd said their last goodbyes to Angel, Di was in a bit of a state of shock. She didn't go with the others to find Bane, Jr. but instead took a long walk and tried to clear her head. It had been a long time since she'd encountered death....
She had only just met Angel, as well as Raven and Star, and didn't even know them as well as she knew Reikka. She wandered, taking the long way back to Dick's place, and had been there only a few minutes when the others arrived. They were all sulking, and Di felt bad as well, though not in the same way the others did. She'd barely known the girl, and what was making her own spine tingle was the thought she had about the villain: first the ghost at STARR today which she'd not heard about until later, and now this... Bane Junior character. Hadn't Bane been Batman's rival? Strong man... and now he had a son wandering about Vector City. With power enough to kill a Titan. Great.

If it had been her that had been attacked, she'd have easily slinked out of a tight grasp. Strength was no match for her; she'd simply melt around it. But, Angel hadn't possessed those qualities... and surely there was someone around who could counter Vi's abilities in the same way. She shuddereed as she heard the exchange between Starfire and Raven.
Silently, she decided to follow the dark girl, having been curious about her all along, wondering why she hid herself like she did. Star joined Dick in the bedroom, and Reikka joined Ashton as he fiddled with his weaponry. She hadn't known what had come of the greenish boy, but Di didn't want to be alone tonight, either. So she silently, in mostly liquid form, followed Raven to the cemetary.

As Raven paused near the struggle site, Di spoke, hoping she wouldn't startle the Titan.
"Raven? Di... sorry, I followed you. You're curious to me. What is it? Do you see something? Feel something?" She shivered, a chill running down her spine, and she checked behind her... just to make sure. Approaching the area where Raven stood, looking intently at the area Raven seemed to be studying but not seeing anything significant, she glanced at the girl, wondering what was up with her... if she was formulating a theory of some sort.
"Sorry again for following you. The rest of them paired up, and, well, I just couldn't stay alone either." She blushed a bit, having no idea how well Angel and Raven had known one another. The only two she'd known before today were Ashton and Dick, and they seemed both enthralled with the other gals tonight. She figured they were working, or sleeping, and she figured working was better, was glad that's what Raven seemed to be doing.

Raven glanced behind her, then nodded. "I felt you there."
She looked back to the ground, lifting her cape enough to point to the ground. "Angel tried to fight back. Look at the burns, from her charges... Her footprints here- He snatched her right from the ground. If Beast Boy hadn't shown up-" She shivered, pulling her cloak closed and turning around.
"I couldn't stay in there. Everyone was just so... sad. That doesn't set well with me; messes my head up something fierce. I thought I could at least try to figure out what happened. It might help us later." She paused, seeing something shine in the moonlight behind Di. A curious look came to her face, going over to pick it up. A syringe...
"Junior's a druggie." She frowned, playing with it as she sat on her heels. "Whatever this is, had something to do with Angel...."

Vi's face went white with recognition. Her first thought was steroids... Lord knows she'd seen plenty of that, and that just around the house. Having morphed into Vi, wearing the outfit and all, on the way here, the purple-clad girl took the syringe from Raven, and sniffed it. Nope, not the steroids she was used to finding.... This had a more distinct smell to it, almost one of sweat, like a gym or a sauna filled with sweaty guys. Mumbling mostly to herself, Vi spoke. "Strength serum? Bane... Batman... Superior strength. Comes from a serum?" That last part was directed back at Raven again as she handed the thing back.

"Angel!"
Star sat up with a gasp suddenly, grabbing her chest as she looked about the room. Where was she? This was not familiar at all!
She looked next to her, seeing Robin asleep. She hugged her knees a moment, remembering earlier. She and Angel had actualy gotten rather... close. Angel seemed to understand her; she had tried so hard to help her get these strange earth customs and terms...
She felt like she had lost one of her best friends.
She whimpered, wiping her eyes again, then laid back down, wrapping her arms about him. "I do not wish to lose any more friends... And I truly hope I do not lose you, Robin..," she whispered, burying her head against his shoulder.
