Titans: The Revised Adventures RP

The tiny glint of gold fell toward Grant, and he held out one hand to catch it. The cop's badge. Funny. It was heavy somehow, even to his beyond human strength. As though a tremendous metaphysical burden came along with it. He looked at it as Roy spoke, only half hearing the words.

He picked up the walkie-talkie, activated it, then shut it off again. He sighed, then thumbed it to life once more, "No blazes of glory today." "No promises about tomorrow." "Besides...I need to give this back." "There aren't that many good cops out there, we need everyone we can get."

He heard machinery moving, and as he did so, a thought occured to him. "Hey, how did all those guys walk?" "Most of them had a ton of stuff in their cars."

Donna had spent the better part of a day winding the curls into her long dark hair. Spiral tendrils spilled over the up do and circlet of gilded leaves and fell over her back and one shoulder. She again chuckled with the irony of her costume, so close to the average attire back home it was laughable. Of course this was infinitely softer and clung entirely differently to her body. The billowy fabric danced about her thighs with each step, some sort of gossamer float around her. Normally Donna wore very little make up, but Halloween being what it was she indulged a bit, glossy red lip stick accented her full lips and charcoal eye shadow made her china blue eyes sparkle brightly.

A few last minute adjustments of her costume, it wasn't horribly showy, she'd seen far worse on some girls any day of the week, but for her it was a far cry from her normal modesty. With a nod to her reflection she slipped on the golden sandal and strapped them around her calves. A wrap was tossed over her covering her shoulder to knees against the chill of the outside. If she was going to have to walk to the train it would be cold...good cover. The cold didn't bother her but the skin show might somewhat. Of course if she cheated and flew she could be there in no time, that was always a tuff call...how much could she get away with, and when could she just enjoy flying. Rare were her chances since she'd moved in, it was just not a normal thing to see a statuesque raved haired woman soaring through the clouds. And the white of this outfit made it all the more conspicuous.

So walking it was. Donna grabbed a small clutch purse and headed for her door, she locked up and headed out into the chilly northern late afternoon. The sky was clear and cloudless, it was getting dark so early now she thought it best to leave while the sun was still up and high enough to light the streets. She never had to worry about her safety, but she didn't want to mess up her costume by having to fight with someone, not on the way to a party..a first date.

First date, it had been a while since she'd had one of those and Donna beamed a grin. With her white wrap wound around her she stepped down the front steps of her apartment building and looked toward the train station.

Roy.

Roy let the Winch come up and Waited a long while tapping almost impatiently wondering how to tell the kid about the system he worked to protect. How those creeps got out. he let the crane stop when he could see grant clearly over the hole and came out. Grant tossed him the shield, Which he put away. Simple and easy. He looked about for some transport for the two of them and his bike. Spying a truck he offered his hand to teh guy to help him off the hook. Roy actually felt kind of foolish. A minute ago this guy wanted to rip his arms off, he may still want to. And help him down. The guy Jumped like 30 feet straight up and 90 across. Likely he could make this. But a gesture was a gesture.

"Listen they get off because that's the system. they can post bail if there is a chare. And IF you don't stick around, You are not Superman Or GL or a big name. When YOU bust some guy we need a complaint. And we don't have one. So there is no charge. And if we put a possession charge on them It only takes one phone call for them to get 20 guys down to say hey that stuff was planted, we seen it, and we have nothing. We need evidence, even if you don't. Heck most of those guys you dropped off last night had guys down at the station by the time they gpot there. ready to swear on thier mother's graves that YOU planted the drugs in the back." Roy shook his head. "It sucks but it's the only system we have for now. I admire Ollie for that. he never let it get him down." Roy walked off still speaking to Grant pointing in the direction of his trashed bike.

"Listen man. I'm gonna go borrow that company truck. and you if you pl;ease could help put my bike in the back. I'm gonna see what you did and maybe I can have it fixed soon. I hate the black and white Bikes. They just don't have the oomph I like in my machine."

Grant Put the bike in the truck bed and it wasn't so bad. Roy hadn't had too much time to do more than dodge when Grant had thrown it at him. Boy had a powerful throwing arm, and roy had just barely dodged. Course he wasn't going to say that. "Looks like all you did was bend the frame. It's pretty scratched but a new body and frame, and it shoudl be fine. That'll be some bucks. Maybe I can write it off to the city or something." Roy turned to Grant. "Hey man you said something about being broke. Lot of those guys I had to let go said you robbed them too. That true? Don't answer. Look if you are that broke and by the looks of your pad you are, I can get you a job at the docks. It isn't glamourous but it's decent pay. and they'll let you go for school and stuff to get your homework done. also give you an excuse for all those biceps you're toting."

"So let's get you back home soon. You obviously had something you needed to do. Can't have you late for Donna." Roy put the truck in gear. He wasn't sure if that last comment was needed but of everything that was the needle in his ribs.

Now the time to meet was approaching, Rupert suddenly felt sick to his stomach. What had he been thinking? Join the Teen Titans?... him?! He couldn't go through with this meeting... even if they had asked.

He turned around and began to walk home sadly. He hadn't even had the courage to meet superheroes, yet he masqueraded as one. He felt like a hypocrite.

Then he realised something. He couldn't go home. If his mother had read the note, she'd wonder why he hadn't gone to meet his friends as he said he would. She'd question him, and ask all the usual things, that look of pity on her face. How he hated that look. Every time it was just a reminder of what a loser he was, the same loser he'd always been.

He stepped into an alley, sat down against the wall and put his head in his hands. Suddenly the sickness in his stomach became worse, a twisting feeling, he felt his skin warming, sweating... red? He looked at his hands as they filled with... blood?

He realised what was happening as the red began to flow faster, never falling from his skin, but covering it like a sleeve. How could this be happening to him now? He hadn't concentrated, hadn't even thought about changing...

It didn't feel like it was him changing into Vulcan... it felt like Vulcan was changing out of him. The pain of transformation hit him unprepared. He screamed as everything went black.

All the confusion was gone. It all seemed so trivial. Why had he thought he needed friends? What he needed were allies in his fight. He had been right to decide to do this. Changing into Vulcan had made it much easier to think clearly.

'Time to join the Teen Titans,' he thought, stepping out from the alley. He ignored the looks and screams from the people as he began to walk towards the newspaper building. He was early, but it would be a good opportunity to get a vantage point on the building entrance, to watch who else was coming to this meeting.

He began to run, tearing up the road surface as his heavy feet dug in for a purchase on the smooth asphalt. He headed for one of the buildings that overlooked the newspaper building, also abandoned. He easily crushed the padlock that secured the side doors to the building with one hand and started up the stairs for the roof.

Before Robin could stop him, the large red-armor man jumped off and vanished. “Di, why’d you tell him to meet us there later this afternoon? We’re going there right now, because Spinter is there early according to Ashton, remember?” He sighed, then walked back to his bike. After Starfire got on behind him, he revved the bike and sped off to the east side of town. As they passed a clocktower, it read a time of 11:53. “Well, it is almost afternoon, so I guess we’re not too early.”

Arriving at the tower, Robin parked the bike in the lot and walked up to greet a bony old man with a slight hunchback, thinning hair, and a scraggly white beard. “Good afternoon, Jim. Glad you could meet me here. Ah, I see you were able to get the blueprints.”

“Yep,” croaked the old man in a raspy voice. You could tell he probably smoked a few packs of Marlboros a day. He held up a roll of papers. “Got ‘em from teh City, teh originals. Pick’d ‘em up on me way ovah here. Yer welcome ter give ‘em a lookovah.” he handed them to Robin, then reached down and grabbed a breifcase, pulling out a clipboard and papers. Taking care of all the financial issues with his credit card number, the deal was sealed (I know in reality buying a building takes longer, but eh, fuck it). Spinter left him with the deed and the keys, and soon after Dr. Drake and Dr. Stone arrived. Vic and his father exchanged a few friendly words, then they went to work.

“Hmm, yes.. Yes, indeed.” Dr. Stone and Dr. Drake looked over the blueprints, and the team took a tour of the building. They mapped out on the blueprints where they could place certain consoles and machines, and soon they had finished with the planning. “Okay, first we need to get this place habitable.” said Stone. “You should all use your powers to clean this place up.”

After running to Ace Hardware and getting all the supplies they needed, everyone pitched in with their various abilities, and in the timespan of about three hours, all the walls and ceilings had been reinforced and repainted, all the floors either recarpeted, refinished, or retiled and waxed. They began installing security systems and computer consoles, and by dinner time, the tower was one humungous computer, everything linked together. They all decked out their rooms with their own furniture from their previous places of residence, or bought new stuff.

Everyone gave a cheer as the tower came online. They walked outside, looking upon the now-silver beauty. “Let’s call it... Titan Tower...” said Robin with a smile, and everyone agreed. They all went to the local steakhouse for dinner, then stopped by Wal-Mart for Halloween stuff. After decking out the Tower with Halloween decor, they tried out their computer stereo system with some tunes.

“Okay all, let’s spread out and get some people to our party. However, some of us need to change into our hero costumes. I mean, people will get suspicious if there is a party at the new Titans HQ and there’s no Titans to host it.

As nightfall approached, kids from all over the city began to pour into the Tower. Soon it was a huge party. Robin was in his R-Suit, and Vic and Reikka danced for a bit, then ended up on a couch in the corner making out. After a bit, Mina walked out of her room, dressed up in a hero suit of her own.

http://img279.imageshack.us/img279/4518/amethystlf8.jpg

“Name’s Amethyst,” she said with a smile. “And look! My powers are a little different from yours! I can make the silver stuff stretch out from my back and form metal wings! And I can make claws on my hands!” she giggled.

The party raged on, and Robin stepped outside for a breather. Then, noticing the red-suit dude breaking into the building next door, he followed. Robin walked up behind the guy on the roof, pretending to be surprised, since it was Dick who had talked to him earlier, not Robin. “Hey, big guy. Breaking and entering is a felony.”

Star laughed as she came out from her room, dancing about in her mermaid costume. "I am pleased with my costume.. An aquatic woman... Though I am not sure how such a person would survive..."
She stopped at Raven's room, knocking lightly on the door. "Are things going well, Raven? Do you require assistance?"

The door opened barely a crack, Raven's glowing eyes glaring up at her. "Why... in the hell... did you pick this out for me," she growled out.

"I am sorry, but the shop of masquerade did not have many items left... These were all I could find... Would you prefer us to switch?," Star asked, trying ot peer in at her.

"You're taller than me. Not going to work." With a frustrated groan, Raven opened the door fully- revealing a pissed off bunny.

Star gave a squeel of laughter, clapping her hands as she floated up from the floor. "You are quite adorable, Raven!"

"Shut. Up." Raven gave her another glare, starting down the hall for the main room. "C'mon, fish face." She reached up, grabbing the fake fin on Star's costume and tugging her along in the air.

Ashton had disappeared into his room after the tower had been online. He hadn't helped them with the shopping, have preferred to work on a costume. He had been working on fashioning a costume, by hand. It had worked out rather well, he thought, as he stepped out in a samurai outfit, complete with handforged katana and wakizashi. He looked at the others. "Nice costume, Raven. Starfire, how can you walk in that?" He started towards the door leading into the main room.

"I do not need to worry about walking," Starfire beamed, still hovering a few inches from the floor as Raven stalked off to a corner. "She is quite frustrated with me at the moment..."

"...I should just get my cloak." Raven plunked down on the red couch, glancing around at the others a moment. She couldn't help but give a slight smirk as she saw Gar, though. Of course he'd use his powers for an easy costume.

"Pardon me, Ashton." Starfire gave him a soft smile, heading out to the corridor. "Robin?" She touched down a bit behind him, the green skirt opening for her to walk behind him, seeing the red man before him. "Oh."

“Come on, let’s go!” growled Bane Junior, who was becoming very angry with Ghost. Their group of villains stood ready to attack, yet Ghost hadn’t yet ordered them to leave the Hive Academy. Bane was becoming very impatient, and was anxious to start cracking skulls. He had even dressed up in his orange Gi.

“Oh, shut up.” said another young villain with a cool, calm voice. “We’ll go when Master Ghost says so.” This was none other than Malchior, son of Mosiris. Mosiris was a powerful dark dragon that had been trapped within the pages of an ancient book for hundreds of years. Slade had freed the dragon, and in return he agreed to send his first born son to train under Slade. Unable to find a female dragon still alive, Mosiris mated with a human woman, resulting in the birth of the half-dragon Malchior. When he was old enough, Mal was sent to the Hive Academy. He looks mostly human, except for his eyes and fangs. The eyes he doesn’t mind, but he usually hides his mouth from view unless he is in a battle.

Ghost slowly rose up out of the floor, dusting a few specks off his snow-white jacket. He had been deep within the bowels of the HIVE, studying combat footage of his prospective team as well as any known information on the Titans. From what he could tell, the heroes were coming out of the woodwork. But the team before him was special, and uniquly suited to handling the Titans.

Bane Jr provided raw, unbridled power. He was also simple-minded and lacked much of his father's intellegence and subtely.

Malchior was something truely not of this Earth. He was no less powerful then Bane Jr, but Malchior brought with him a superhuman power that at its worst, scared even Ghost.

But as late as he was for the attack, he noticed that several other members absent. Time was almost up, the attack had to come tonight for everything to work. If they didn't show soon he'd have to leave with his current line up.
-----------

Conner spun around in tight circles above the heads of the partiers. He was having the time of his life, which wasn't all that unusual, but tonight especially.

He had decided to go a different route with his costume. After all, he spent all day in his costume and it was a nice change of pace to go with a simple black t-shirt, the S-Shield proudly emblazoned on the front in bright vibrant red, with a pair of regular jeans. Normal people clothes and something Superboy rarely got to wear.

Slung over his shoulder was a guitar and he was in the process of matching the song on the stereo note for note. It was a game he'd come up with when he was living with Tana back in Metropolis. Test his super-hearing with his speed and reflexes to mimic a song he was hearing.

Plus there is nothing cooler then a rock star, not even a superhero he concluded before his eyes locked in on her. The dark looking girl...dressed in a bunny costume.

"Now that looks like a job for Superboy" He chuckled and darted in next to her with a wide playful grin, "Raven right?"

Raven glanced up as she sat on the couch, Conner now hovering before her. "That's right." She frowned, giving him a glare. "Don't even think about any rabbit comments. Star picked this out, not me. I should have thought that over a bit better."

She smacked one of the flopping ears, rolling her eyes. "I really wish she had picked a witch or something. But I get... a bunny."

The daughter of a demon, the door to another dimension... dressed up like a rabbit. Some fearsome sight she was. She could have sworn she could actually hear her father laughing at her.

Villians

"Hold up" Two members wandered out of the gloom to talk to Ghost. "We want some payback too. Heard Superboy was helping these jerks through the psychic freinds hotline. We got Beef with him. So we're gonna tag along. "

"Deuce," "and Charger". They talked seperately but the voices were hard to distinguish. "And we brought a friend." "Seems the headmaster really wants this to go down well so He's sending some backup." "From Slade himself we present Solomon Grundy" "Solomon Grundy"

Solomon Grundy stepped out of a gloom that seemed to follow him. Oddly silent but for the crushing Footsteps he walked up to Ghost and towered over him. "Born on a monday."

(OOC: ok I know that the images are from Wiki, and that the Grundy is from 'The Batman' and really clayface. But I like the menacing look.)

Grant picked up the bike with one hand, setting it inthe back of the truck. "Uh, I'm...kind of sorry about the bike." "I guess I got carried away, I have a temper sometimes." He wondered who the Ollie he mentioned was. A man he respected. Maybe his captain?

"Yeah, I did rob those guys." Grant got into the truck, buckling up absently, not that a crash would do much to him. "Like I said, the resources of a twice-orphaned fugitive aren't so great." "I needed to live...and I couldn't go to the homeless shelters, it would be a natural place for anyone looking for me to check."

'If you're serious about the job...I'll take it." "I never wanted to be a thief, but I didn't see another choice." Grant looked over at Roy, "And...no matter what you say, I'm still going to go out there and stop the bad guys whenever and wherever I see them." "I won't rob them anymore, and I'll wait to give a statement to the cops...but I feel like I have a lot to make up for."

"Plus...being a cop, you have to choose where you enforce the law." "So...let me do it in the places you don't have time to get to." He had to. Not just because he was like every kid who wanted to be a super hero, but because he did have a debt to pay. He wanted to be forgiven, redeemed. The hero thing just seemed like the best way to do it. "And, uh...how did you know about Donna?" "That we're, uh, you know, going out tonight?"

Wait, maybe he shouldn't have said that. Luckily, he still had a few hours. Time enough to tae care of this, and break intothe school so he could shower.

The first thing that went through Roy's mind was [Shit did I say Ollie out loud.] the second was everything else at once. Finally it settled on the subject that mattered most right now. Donna.

"Well I'll get yopu that job. But I want you to think about working with the titans. It's a group of Meta's that's being set up. I recently became a meber from an old freind. And I'd like you to think about joining. As for fighiting I never wanted you to stop doing it whee you see it. Just maybe not being so careless about who you try to bust."

Roy put the truck in gear and Started to pull out. Doing a good clip down the highway. "As for Donna. I saw you before. I dated her once. And really Changing in such a place who else would you go see. I checked your student file last night. We go to the same school. You have been there like a week. Who else would you know? Detective work man. Like the big gold shield." Roy drove in some silence for a moment. These next few words would cost him some pride but they needed to be said.

"Listen. She's a special girl, and despite what I said before about you only being there cause I couldn't. I guess I couldn't make it work. One day she just never showed. So I waited and she couldn't show. Then I got the call to transfer here. It was beautiful while it lasted and she is something special. So you'll forgive me if I have some problems letting go. But if you make her happy and you're what she wants then I'll let it happen. but don't let that seem to be that I'll give up. I'll fight you for her ever ystep of the way. And I will put you down if you hurt her.

Roy's hands tightened on the steering wheel while he talked. It was a little more personal than he wanted to get. "But listen. You can't date her in that craphole you live in. Did you even have a shower? You're bound to be filthy now. I gotta place you can use. Dear lords I don't know what I'm helping you with. But I have a place."

Roy drove a little faster and pulled up in front of some Mid level apartments. "We're here" Ignoring the obvious statement Roy continued. "A Mentor of mine told me once that when you're running from someone, Or you need to crash You can't always have a fixed address. So he kept a couple of places to just stop and crash in. This is one of them" Roy unlocked the front door and walked up to the second floor. "Number 8" He unlocked the door and gave Grant the keys. "It isn't much. and there's like no furniture. But the lights and gas and water works. Take it. It's got a balcony for easy access and it's already alarmed. You can stay here and I'll explain it away. You're gonna need some cash to get started. Pay some bills and get the utilities put in your name. So here's a few hundred." Roy peeled a stack of twenties out of his wallet. it was almost all his recreational cash but he didn't really need it. "The place is yours. If you have some issues for a bit need food, This is my number and you can call me. I'll try to get this place set up and you can owe me for it." Roy wrote down some numbers on a slip of paper from his regualtion note pad. He'd have to explain why he was tearing sheets from it but it was fine he guessed. "It's all marked out. This is my numbers, and this is the dockyard address and numbers for them. You'll have a job monday. These are the codes for the security system and the cash." Roy backed up a bit.

"Now listen. I meant what I said everywhere. I guess I feel kind of guilty but you deserve a break. So you can have this place, but you're gonna earn it from me. I'll see about getting you something but you're gonna learn from me. I'm not that experienced but I had a good teacher, and I'll teach you what I know about being a hero. A real hero. Not a guy who assaults people who happen to be doing something wrong." Roy kept walking towards the door. "But most of all. I meant what I said about Donna. I'm not gonna give up just cause you're there, and if you do hurt her." Roy swallowed deep. He didn't want to make idle threats, Especially to this kid with what had just happened.

"Are we good man? you set? Cause I dunno when you're late but I know you ain't got too much time."

Grant just stared at the wad of money in his hands, then around at the apartment, then back at Roy. "I...uh...y-yeah, I'm cool." Holy cow. Who was this guy really? He was a lot more than just some cop. The Titans...

"I won't let you down, Harp...Roy." He was actually very touched by all this. Maybe there was more to him than just the asshole exterior. "It's...all this is more than I can ever repay, but I'll do my best." "Count on it." Grant stood up to his full height, a determined look on his face. "I'll learn whatever you have to teach, and I'll make a difference." "As a Titan, and on my own."

He hesitated, and then went on, "But just 'cause I owe you doesn't mean I'm not going to try my best with Donna too." "She's just...a wonder." "Special just isn't a strong enough word." "So, you'd better expect some competition." Not that it was up to either of them. It would be Donna's decision to be with either of them, or neither of them. Huh...fighting with a friend over a girl. Maybe he could something like a normal life after all.

Roy just smirked, and Grant took a moment to look around the apartment again. When he looked back at the door, Ro was gone. Grant blinked and looked out in the hallway. No sign of him. "Whoa...how'd he do that?"

A quick shower and a backtrack to retrieve his costume from the now immenently collapsing house later, Grant was riding another elevated train across the city. It was funny. He'd gotten up this morning looking forward to seeing Donna so much, he couldn't have believed that the day could have anything better than that in it. But now...he had a place to live, a job, and someone to help him become a hero. With these Titans...he might also be able to find some friends.

The best part of all was just around the bend though. His date with Donna, God, was he nervous. His stomach felt like tiny Metallo-butterflies were trying to escape from it. He was wearing his halloween costume now, the blue cape fluttering behind him in the breeze. It was kind of cool. Maybe he should get a cape for his other costume.

He saw the station approaching. Time to get off. He stood up, and hopped off the tracks, landing in a nearby alley. Whoever designed Vector City, Grant owed him for the ubiquitous alleys the place had. Always one when you needed it. From there, he walked out and stood by the entrance to the train station. Any minute now. He started pacing, then stopped himself. Trying to stay calm. First date. It had been a while...and never with someone like Donna.

"Hold up" Two members wandered out of the gloom to talk to Ghost. "We want some payback too. Heard Superboy was helping these jerks through the psychic freinds hotline. We got Beef with him. So we're gonna tag along. "

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/36/DeuceAndCharger.jpg

"Deuce," "and Charger". They talked seperately but the voices were hard to distinguish. "And we brought a friend." "Seems the headmaster really wants this to go down well so He's sending some backup." "From Slade himself we present Solomon Grundy" "Solomon Grundy"

Solomon Grundy stepped out of a gloom that seemed to follow him. Oddly silent but for the crushing Footsteps he walked up to Ghost and towered over him. "Born on a monday."

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/be/Grundy.jpg

(OOC: ok I know that the images are from Wiki, and that the Grundy is from 'The Batman' and really clayface. But I like the menacing look.)

Ghost regarded the towering mass with a stare. "Uhhh nice to meet you too..."

Glancing around at the assembeled group Ghost nodded. "This looks like everyone. Once we get inside their tower, our first priority will be to disable their security. Then it's just a matter of partnering up and taking them down man to man....or whatever" He added as he glanced at Grundy.

Ghost nodded at the large transport ship that Slade had prepared for them. It was a strange, needle like craft that was intended to deliver them directly into the tower. It was basically a massive syringe that would pierce through the tower's outer wall and once it did, they would swarm in and take the tower.

"Let's go crash a party"
------------------------
Superboy racked his brain for a decent bunny joke but nothing was coming to him. And truth be told, he wasn't sure how this girl would handle it. She looked like the kind who didn't always take a joke so well. He smirked. These kind of girls were fun.

Dropping down onto the ground and unslinging the guitar, Conner plopped down on the coach next to her and surveyed the party.

"So can you see the party better from here? Or are ya just dead set on killing the room's buzz" He asked. All joking aside he hated to see people unhappy. It was one of the reasons he did what he did, he just wanted people to smile.

"And besides, I think if you joined in the fun, this place would really get hoppin"

He mentally congratulated himself on picking the most cheesy bunny joke imagianable. It was a special skill, but afterall, he was Superboy.

"I don't exactly do the whole... party thing." Raven gave him a glance, frowning at the attempted rabbit joke. She made a note- strangle Star for this. "And that really helps make me want to dance," she added flatly.

Still, the guy seemed pretty set on getting her off the couch. With a soft roll of her eyes, she gave a soft sigh. "Maybe if something a bit more style came on, I might... consider dancing...," she mumbled out, glancing at him. "But that's really a strong 'might'." The development of a smirk came across her face. "You're the one who thinks he knows music so well... So why don't you try and guess what I'd find worth getting up for?"

-----

Star gave the new man a glance over, then nodded. "Hello to you, lock breaker... Since Robin has not attacked you, I am guessing you are a friend..." Leaning over a moment, she gave her boyfriend a quick kiss, then giggled as she started flew back down the hall. "I will see you back at the party, Robin!"

"I'd wait a minute if I were you."

Leaning against a wall near the boarding plank for the ship was a tall, lean youth. His hair was spiked high, black with a green sheen to it. He seemed to almost have a perpetual smirk on his face, his eyes concealed behind a pair of sunglasses. He wore a black bodysuit, green bands belted over it here and there. On the chest was a sprial symbol, all different green shades twisting together. "You've got a nice team there, Ghost, but you're going about this all wrong." "See, Slade wants you do his work for him, but he's not keeping you in the loop."

The youth looked up at the group, grinning. "I mean, you're a smart guy, right?" "So, think of this...why attack the Titans at their place?" "Where they know the layout and have all the weapons." He shook his head, "No, smart man makes his enemies come to him, on his turf." "Then..." He drew an imaginary line across his throat.

"You want to beat the Titans?" "You need to do two things." "First," he pointed a thumb at his chest, "you put Kid Twist in your crew." "If you want the best help you can get, anyway." "Second, you want this thing to go down in a nice public place, where there's lots of innocent bystanders for the Titans to worry about." He shrugged, "You get 'em lookin' the other way, thinkin' about something other than you, and bada bing." "It's done."

Kid Twist stepped out in front of Ghost, shrugging again. "It could be that I know the perfect place to do this." "Lots of people, lots of property to damage, all kinds of things the Titans can think about instead of us." "Assuming that I'm in." "So, what do you say, boss?" "Am I in?"

Suddenly, two more teens walked into the room.

“Sorry we’re late, Boss,” said the first one. “Name’s Danny Flint, but you can call me Firebolt. Hey, wideload, you‘re copying my look.” he said to the much taller Bane Junior. He was barely six feet, yet Bane was at least six and a half.

(Although these pictures dun match, I’m tired and done looking. Firebolt is essentially my DC version of the Human Torch)

“I’m Charles Watkins, but I prefer to be called Killowat.”

Bane held his temper, but his fists were balled and he wanted to smash Firebolt against the nearest wall.

Once Kid Twist stepped too close to Ghost, Malchior stepped in-between them. “Master Ghost has thought this through, now step back. The Titans are having a party, so there are plenty of innocents there. And with all the costumes, they won’t know who’s an enemy and who isn’t. This plan will work just fine. If you wish to be in our team, and in my presence, you will respect Ghost and Headmaster Slade.” Malchior balled his fists and they began to glow with purple-white light. “I trust you will not question our leaders again?”

Ghost blinked behind his sunglasses at Malchior's outburst. It was something new to have people serving him. For so long it had just been him, him and the voices. He shook it off quickly and nodded his head, "We hit the Titans where they live. This isn't a hunt. It's not a guerilla war where we play shadow games. Slade wants the Titans gone and that's what we're gonna do"

He kept the truth of it from them. He didn't give two shits about Slade or the HIVE. He needed their resources and having a team at his beck and call was certainly nice, but he was in this for himself. He still needed pieces to reach completion. Ghost was close though, and in the meantime he was going to do everything Slade said. For the time being, Ghost was utterly dependent on that man.

Turning his attention back to Kid Twist, Ghost gave him a quick up and down inspection. "You're in. Let's load this thing up. After launch it'll take us about 5 minutes to impact with Titans Tower. Once that happens, things will pretty much go to hell"

Moving towards the Needlecraft, the temperature dropped and the lights flickered.

Gar shimmied his way through the partygoers to the red couch where Raven was sitting. Funny. She looks so out of place in that outfit, but so hot at the same time. He looked at the guy speaking with her and mentally rolled his eyes. Great...just great...competing with Superboy. Wonder if it's too late to give a call to Cliff and see what the rest of the Doom Patrol survivors is doing?

He leapt from behind the couch with a loud, "Cowabunga!" and landed next to Raven. "Hey dude," he greeted Superboy and then met Raven's eyes and smirked.

"Eh, what's up, doc?"

The team followed Ghost into the needlecraft, up out of a secret garage doorway in the cemetery and off to the Bay it sped. Robin turned his attention away from the red suit man, who had introduced himself as Vulcan, and stared in horror as he saw the needlecraft whiz through the sky and slam into Titan Tower. His eyes grew wide as he noticed it said HIVE on the side of the ship (HIVE as in capitals, not as in an abbreviation for something longer. In this game, I am just calling it Hive. The times I said HIVE were when the word was in caps, like on the ship or on the dude’s uniform. However, feel free to continue saying HIVE all the time if you feel more comfortable with that).

Robin leapt from the building, landing on the roof of the Tower with a roll. Running into the roof door and down the stairs, Vulcan behind him, they made their way to the second floor in time to see the Hive members step off the ship. Robin’s eyes grew wide as he saw their team leader. “Ghost!”

Immediately, Robin jumped for a nearby computer console and slammed his hand down on a red button. Suddenly, the entire Tower began to emit a buzzing sound and little red lights began flickering on every floor, a computer voice saying “Red Alert, Level Two. Red Alert, Level Two.” (Level Two meaning Floor Two. The basement would be Red Alert, Sublevel One)

Vic and Reikka came running over, and some of the party guests started screaming as Bane Junior began smashing tables and chairs, much to the disgust of Malchior. “So disgraceful. Completely undisciplined, just brute strength. Haha, this is how it’s done, you ape.” Malchior balled his fists and they once again glowed with a purple-white light. He smiled under his face mask, began to levitate a few inches above the floor, then looked around. “Ah, fuck it.” he started throwing energy balls in every direction.

Bane growled at Malchior’s comment, then smiled. He pulled out what looked like an inhaler from a secret compartment in his shoe. “Father sent this to me this afternoon! Let’s test out his new Venom!” Inhaling deeply from the little device, Bane felt the power surge through him. He started laughing maniacally, replaced the inhaler in his shoe, and looked around. He smiled as his felt his muscles grow, and this new Venom made him taller too. He grew to nearly seven and a third feet tall, and his muscles bulged out, increases his mass by several times. His Gi was designed to stretch with him, so he could still move easily. Noticing Beast Boy, he smiled, then charged him.

Killowat spotted who he thought was a Titan, and started attacking him, sending bolts of electricity. However, the dude was a normal human, and he died from the blast. Killowat stared at him, his hands shaking at the thought of what he had just done. Malchior was killing people over and over again with his blasts, and was smiling while doing it. Bane was trying to kill the green dude, and enjoying it. Everyone on this team was a bloody thirsty killer! What had he gotten himself into, why had he joined the Hive? He looked up as Firebolt walked up to him.

“This is wrong, man...” he said to Killowat. “The Titans need to die, but why kill all these innocents?”

“I know...” Killowat agreed. “But, we can’t back out now... Let’s just attack the Titans, and let the others deal with the innocents.” Firebolt nodded, and they ran towards the real Titans. Killowat started sending lightning blasts at Vic and Reikka, and Firebolt sent a few fireballs at Superboy.

“GHOST!” screamed Robin, throwing a few R-Discs at him.

Raven gave Gar a 'look' for the bunny crack. "Listen, you-"

No sooner had she gotten that out before the alarms started off, Raven jumping up from the couch, her hands encircled with her black clouds as she looked around. She may have been a bunny, but she was still pissed... and this was just adding to it.

"Everyone stay calm!," She shouted to the guests. Damn! They had just gotten this place cleaned up, and they were already under attack?! "Starfire, get this people back to our rooms and lock them down! Don't let anyone get in your way!" As she spoke, she used her powers to lift the couch, hurling it at the guy in purple. The way he was blasting off his powers, he was going to cause kill someone... She had to get him down.

Starfire nodded, taking to the air as her eyes and hands glowed green from her powers. "Please, do not be frightened! I will not allow anyone to harm you!," she called, guesturing for the scared guests to follow her.

Ashton blinked, having just settled down in a chair when the alarms went off. He sighed, then stood up, and grabbed one of his photon swords from a rack nearby. He wouldn't bother shedding his costume, as it actually made an impression. He walked slowly towards the attackers, thumbing the activation stud.
