This is intended to be a fun thread to state the obvious rules for relating to others on the net and sometimes for ranting about those that don't get it. (Don't use their real names please, we need to protect the stupid.) So come on and post all those fun little things people just need to learn!

My first one is that if you are going to tell someone you love to see them come online and how they are the only person you really ever talk to, don't try to rehash a conversation with them that you never had with them, using details about some other person. *laughs*

Come on, I know you all have some too.

If someone has given you their IM information (yahoo, AIM, MSN etc) and you see them online, don't automatically assume that they are signing on solely to pleasure you. They could be signing on to talk to a friend or a member of their family. Just because someone signs on doesn't mean they are "horny," "masturbating," or want to talk dirty.

Also, if you message them, and they don't reply could be just be that they are not in a position to talk with you at the moment for whatever reason. Sending them multiple messages like "what did I do?" or "what? no hi?" doesn't make them able to message you any faster and all you are doing is annoying them.

Sorry, that is my biggest online pet peeve.

I agree with all you said. :)

I absolutely hate when I get those multiple messages.

I can not stand that. I AM NOT HERE TO ENTERTAIN YOU, please do not think that I am. Then you are a stick in the mud if you do not want to talk to them...

Imagine this:

You are perusing the threads and you happen to like a few of the comments that someone has posted. You have decided that you would like to get to know more about them so you view their profile. They seem to be funny and sexy at the same time! What a better match. and OMG they listed their Instant Messaging info as well, the perfect Trifecta!

You decide to add this person via your favorite instant messaging program rapidly, without even filling in the optional message box. When the person logs on they reply back "Who the fuck are you and what do you want?" or they just reject your invite because as far as they are concerned you are just some spam bot service.

The moral of the story is that if you are going to add someone to your IM account at least let the person know who you are and how you acquired their screen name. Also do not be surprised if they do not reciprocate your enthusiasm.

I'm glad someone hasn't done that to me.

You decide to PM someone and in your great hormonal high, ask another Lit member that
you've NEVER PM'ED before "Are you horny right now?" or "Want to play?"

You sit back and anxiously await the reply from your soon to be playmate. The recipient reads the PM...and deletes it.

You send yet another PM that says "Are you playing right now?" or "I'm going to add you to my Yahoo Messenger list"
The recipient reads the PM...and again deletes the PM.

The recipient then notices a pop up request to add "Enthusiastic, Horny Litster" to their messenger list - and rejects the request (Spot on Kitkat103)

You then send another PM that says "Why didn't you add me?" The recipient reads the PM and deletes it, and wonders when the random PM'er will clue in on the profile that states "PM's to the effect of "Are you horny" or "Do you want to Play" will NOT be replied to! If you want a reply, make sure that your PM warrants a response, as I do NOT respond to one line PM's'."

Totally with sensual there, she did however forget the PM saying nothing more than "what makes you wet?" To which I reply, "Water."

Be very broad, even when you have talked to someone for some time and feel comfy, in relating where you live.

I got in trouble for not being vague enough once.

Watch blurting names of places and people you know from those places.

If you live in a place where others can see your computer, or have access to it, and you do not want them to, window washer is your friend.

We had a case of a young man on this site dying and his family finding al his lit stuff on his computer after his passing. It was very sad...bot his death and their sorrow at finding what was written here.

Don't ever feel you are above anyone else nor feel anyone else is above you on here or you will get caught up in the drama pretty quickly.

KW you crack me the hell up ~ Love it Lady! Kinda like the time that I had a random person (NOT on Lit) asked me for a pic of my breasts.

I was think yeah, I can do that. I went and grabbed the chicken breasts from my refrigerator and along w/ the receipt snapped a pic and sent it to him...oddly he never messaged me again after that! About damn broke my heart *tear* :D

This thread SO should remain a sticky at the top of the PG...oddly I dunno if the guilty parties would read it, esp if they don't read profiles...

Hmm is it just me, or does it seem those that are the type to offend rarely have a profile filled out...

Posting your phone number, or any phone number on your profile or in your signature, is fucking creepy.

Also- LOL!

Don't stalk people, even online it makes you creepy and wrong.

You're just sad 'cause you're not the best stalker you can be. :p
