Time Waits for No One: Closer Than Family(Closed for The_Gladiator)

He laughed, "Some would say I have addictions and I'm not famous. Sorry what about my hands?" he said looking confused just a little.

"Hmm...true again," she said with a smile, then shook her head when he asked about his hands. "Nevermind...my eyes are just messing with my head," she murmured, shrugging off her slight embarrassment.

"There are worse things that could be messing with your head." Just then Mark got a tap on the shoulder, "May I cut in?" a deep voice asked, he was about to tell the guy to fuck off when he saw it was kyle and smiled, "Of course," he said yielding Roxanne to her new brother in law who pulled her close putting her in a more formal dance position. Mark backed away smiling and was not entirely surprised when April seemed to materialize and grab him, "Yes April?" he asked raising an eyebrow, "Is something wrong?"

Roxy started to shake her head when she heard someone ask for a dance, smiling once she saw it was Kyle. "I'll be back," she told Mark, then moved out of him arms to dance with Kyle. "I give you credit...you haven't gone running for the hills yet," she teased her new brother-in-law."

April draped her arms around Mark's neck, pressing her body against his before he had a chance to move away. "Mmm...I just want another dance, hotstuff," she told him, her words slightly slurred by all the drinks she'd had so far.

Kyle smiled, "And why would I run, I've got the most beautiful wife around." he said with a smile, "Even if her family is kinda strange." he teased poking her in the side as they danced.

Mark decided giving her the dance would be easier than arguing so gave in to the less formal way of dancing and plaist his hands on her waist keeping the length of his lower arms between them. With her large breasts they almost touched his chest even so, and if he would look down he would probably see much of her cleavage at very close range, but he did not look down, instead keeping his gaze just to the right of her head not meeting her gaze.

She laughed as he poked her, smiling up at him. "You make her so happy...even from day one," she told him, remembering the excited phone call she'd gotten from Lena when she'd first met Kyle.

Mark's lack of interest severly annoyed April. Hell...she'd already had a few quickies with a few of Kyle's friends, but she couldn't stop thinking about how she wanted Mark. "Given any thought to that offer about my hotel room?" she questioned, her fingers toying with the hair at the nape of his neck.

I'm glad I can make her happy. She means the world to me." Kyle said, "I'll take good care of her, "Ok maybe she'll take good care of me." he said for it was common knowledge that Lena, a now accomplished lawyer made more money than he, a business man climbing the ranks of the firm did. But it bothered neither of them their situation.

"Actually I have thought about it." Mark said flashing April a smile, not wanting to lie, he just ommitted that he wasn't interested still to see what she was thinking or what she'd do. He was toying with her, and found himself enjoying it a little.

Roxy smiled. "Regardless...you better take care of her. You have no idea what I'd do to you if you hurt her," she warned teasingly, knowing full well that Kyle would never purposely do anything to hurt Lena.

April grinned, Mark's smile helping to comfirm her hopes. "Hmm..really? Maybe we should get out of here now...give us more time together," she murmured seductively, one of her hands starting to slide down his chest.

Kyle smiled, "I promise, She's my world." he said, "I still can't believe she loves me, silly old me." he said laughing a little as they danced.

"You know I was thinking about leaving myself," mark said smirking just a little, kind of enjoying how they were talking in simal ways but had totally different meanings, "It is getting late afterall."

"I'm sure she's had the same thought about you loving her," she told him with a smile. "We stayed at Mom and Dad's last night...she couldn't stop talking about how nervous and excited she was," she said with a grin, recalling the late night talk.

His words made April grin wider. "I can assure you that you're going to have a very late night tonight," she told him, pressing her body to his. "Let's say our goodbyes and get the hell out of here."

"Yeah sounds like good byes are in order. Bye the way... what gave you the impression I was leaving with you?" Mark said his smirk only growing wider.

Kyle laughed and hugged Roxie close as the song ended, "Thank you for the dance little sister, I'm so glad you came." he said kissing her cheak.

April stared at Mark, anger slowly rising inside of her. "But you said..." she started, then the truth muddled through her buzzed mind. "You think you're so funny, don't you," she hissed softly, doing her best not to draw attention to them. "You don't know what you're missing out on, that's for sure. I have so much more than that little girl does," she told him, her gaze over his shoulder locking on Roxanne.

Roxy hugged Kyle, smiling up at him after he kissed her cheek. "Anytime big brother," she said with a grin, leaning up to give his cheek a kiss. "Go sweep my sister off her feet," she told him with a laugh, giving him another hug before she moved out of his arms.

Looking over his shoulder Mark followed April's gaze, "Oh she has plenty, but I'm not sleeping with her either." he said, "I am going home with her though." he said with a smile, "And I'm sure you're good, I just prefer not to...catch anything in the process of feeling good." he said stepping back, so he wouldn't get slapped.

Kyle just smiled at Roxy and walked off to go find his new bride and see if they were allowed to leave yet.

It took all of her restraint not to grab someone's drink and throw it in his face. As good as it would've felt, she could only imagine what Lena would say to her about it. "Next time your anxious to get some, don't even think about talking to me," she spat out, then turned and stalked off towards the bar.

Roxy had turned to find Mark, resulting in seeing April stalk off. "Hmm...she looked happy," she teased as she walked up to Mark. "What did you do? Tell her you wanted her children?

Mark laughed, "It was just my wonderful charm," he said, "Just wait till she comes back for another round." he laughed, "She didn't seem to appreciate being the butt of my joke." he said with a small smile.

She laughed. "That charm of yours is going to get you in serious trouble someday," she told him, then glanced towards the bar where April seemed to be sweet-talking a distant cousin of Kyle's. "I don't think she's coming back for round two," she said with a smirk, watching the pair say something to Lena and rush off.

"I can't really say I'm sorry." he said with another smile, "It might get me in trouble, but I enjoyed it." he said with a little vindictive smile.

She rolled her eyes with a laugh. "You always do. Hey...Kyle and Lean are probably going to be leaving soon. Want to say goodbye and head out?" she asked, ready to get out of her dress and relax.

"Yes, but not sad to see that dress go." he said smiling, "You're gorgious in it. I forget your a oman sometimes." he said blushing just a little, "I mean that never mattered, you were always Just Roxy, we played everything from football to candyland." he said. So honestly I've not noticed you were a woman so much since the day I woke up to realize that you had grone those." he said pointing again to her breast, blushing more.

Roxy felt her face heat up as he spoke, knew full well that she was blushing. His words were true though...she'd always been Just Roxy, something she had hated for a bit but had reluctantly gotten used to. "Umm...thanks," she said softly, smiling as she nervously ran a hand through her hair. She rarely wore dresses so she could understand his comments, but it still put those butterflies in her stomach. "I'm just gonna go say bye to my parents and Gran...I'll meet you over by Kyle and Lena," she told him before she turned, hoping the few moments away from him would help get her under control.

Mark walked off saying bye to people as he went, a cold knott in his stomach telling him he had said something he shouldn't have, that he had offended her in some way, or bothered her that is.

Roxy said goodbye to her parents and grandmother, promising to swing by the house in a few days for dinner, then made her way over to Kyle and her sister. "Bye you," she murmured, giving her sister a big hug as she fought back tears. "Have a good time...and stay out of the sun," she teased before she gave Kyle a hug, knowing that her sister was probably going to come back from Hawaii with a slight burn.

She stood back while Mark said his goodbyes, giving a final wave before she walked outside with him. "I definitely need that drink when we get back to my place," she said softly, wiping her eyes as she unlocked the car.

Mark went out to the car with her and got in the passenger side, "I could drive but you're probably less over the limit than I am." he said with a laugh

Roxy laughed as she started the car, pulling out of the lot before she headed towards her apartment. "Sorry...but with what you drank, I'd have to be injured or passed out drunk myself before I'd let you drive," she told him with a grin, her nerves settling down for the moment.

He laughed and smiled leaning his head back relaxing, "Kinda wish I was getting laid tonight." he mused, half to himself.
