Hi All,

New author here. Loaded two submissions a week ago and they are still pending. Can anyone let me know how long it usually takes to approve a submission? I'm keen to have my work out there with an audience :)

Thanks

Approval times are variable, depending on current contest status, number of pending submissions, category of the submission, etc.

One additional factor that is applicable to you is that first submissions from a new author get a much closer scrutiny than submissions from established Lit authors. It can take a week or more in addition to the delays established authors experience for a first submission.

Thanks Harold, just wasn't sure if I'd done something wrong. Happy to wait if that is the normal timeframe.

I know it seems like a long time when you're waiting. I always distract myself and use that time to write something new.

To add to Weird Harold's comment above:

Normal submissions from anyone take longer when a Literotica themed contest is running. The Halloween Story Contest is running now.

So, apart from the delay for a first time submission, there is the delay for the contest.

Whatever you do, do NOT click on the Pending button to view your story. Every time you do that, the submission goes back to the end of the queue.

A rough rule of thumb for the wait for posting is:

One day longer than the writer thinks is an unreasonable delay.
